  • This guide shows you how to set up RetroArch to play PlayStation (PS1) games using the SwanStation core. This guide covers downloading and installing the SwanStation core and some basic setup tips.
Check out the written guide on our website:
    www.howtoretro.com/emulation/...
Things you'll need to do before you start:
    1. Install RetroArch
    2. Obtain a PS1 Game Disc image file to use
    3. Connect a Controller to your PC (Because it's a lot easier playing PS1 games using a controller instead of the keyboard!)
    Recommended Controller
    8BitDo Pro 2:

Can you use Swanstation for PS2 and PS3 games, or does it only work for PS1 games? If the latter, what do you recommend for PS2 and PS3 games for Retroarch?

Hi, I must be really stupid because I followed your guide and every step, but my install can not find the game directory, so what next?
    Anydesk session?
That would fix my headache if it will work later😅

I used 2 different cores on Retroarch, SwanStation, Beetle Psx. Gameplay is ok but in playing Brian Lara Cricket 99, there is a delay in every ball that bowler bowls. Never happen in Epsxe emulator. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

I have looked over several videos, following the same exact instructions and Swanstation is not on there. I don't know what else to do about it.

This is the answer, several cores have either been removed due to pressure from the manufacturers or are available via the standalone version.

The system folder can be found in the retroarch installation folder itself.

I hope you've managed to get things sorted since this comment, but be sure to try again ensuring you are getting the correct BIOS files downloaded and saved in to the correct folder.
