Its very different from the book but it was still a fun watch. My favorite gags are Manny calling his father a dictator and Rodrick trying to power the door bell camera with potatoes. I still prefer the book as usual but it was really good.

i thought it was a good movie tbh, i liked how they showed that greg has sympathy and isn't a total sociopath and was willing to give up his video game console to make another kid in need happy. you'd never see this side of greg in the books. i liked that it was something new for once instead of a reboot like the past two films. i do wish these movies were longer and more scenes with the side characters like chirag and fregley though.

I thought this movie would be terrible like the last two, but it was actually pretty decent
Pros:
-It felt like they did more with the animation in this movie (something the previous 2 failed at)
-The plot did a great job combing elements from the Cabin Fever Book, as well as mixing in new stuff to make it less predictable and more enjoyable (another thing the previous movies failed at)
-Greg was actually a really great character for once
-Greg's dad was great as usual
-The plot twist at the end with Greg giving away his video console was super wholesome, probably the nicest thing Greg's ever done
-I also liked the small references to other Christmas Movies

-I still feel like the animation could be improved, but it worked alright in this movie, so I'll give it a pass
Cons:
-Rowely and his parents were mediocre
-Greg's mom was mediocre
-I didn't like Rodrick in this movie, he felt insanely out of character, trying to do some crazy science stuff to try just to find out what Greg did. Also, I know Greg did something wrong, but it was just a mistake, and Rodrick trying to get Greg in trouble made him really unlikable for me (Wait, isn't tattling on Greg MANNY'S thing?)
Overall, if I were to rate this on a scale of 1 to 10, I would probably give about a 7. It was a pretty enjoyable Christmas Movie.

tbh, rodrick didn't feel out of character for me
he didn't know greg was the one who broke the snowplow, and he was only really motivated to get some quick cash from the reward

Fairly in my opinion, I pretty much am happy with the movies that we’ve gotten so far, it felt pretty much almost in character, and the animation on this movie was pretty great like the rest of the movies. I’ve been reading the books since elemantary so it was pretty interesting to see one of my favourite diary of a wimpy kid books to get animated after almost a decade. I actually also enjoyed how manny did get punished and taped up for hoarding up the supplies, since I’m pretty sure in the book he got away with if I recall correctly.

There actually was supposed to be an animated adaptation of Cabin Fever a few years ago but it got stuck in development hell and eventually ended up getting cancelled. I guess they wanted to try it again this time instead of adapting the third book.
I thought it was so funny when Rodrick said "And they had to eat each other!" and Manny's reply was "yummy". Manny was a savage the whole time in that.

To be fair with fregley, their 3d design perfectly makes you feel how greg feels around them
Pretty much sums up my feelings on this movie; it’s definitely better than the other two animated DoaWK films even with its flaws. Pacing is improved, characterizations/interactions actually matter, better plot element remixing, and it somehow manages to do all of that in only an hour long film. And the craziest change is Manny actually DOES get punished for hoarding the supplies! He gets strapped to the table upon being exposed and is noticeably left out when Susan lets Greg and Rodrick open an early present.
Cabin Fever is my favorite book of the series, so of course I was excited when I heard they were coming out with a Cabin Fever movie. Personally I love the movie and the changes they made from the book to the movie
I remembered watching the movie and laughing at Rodrick when he ate the wanted paper and swallowed it.
Pretty much fully agree. I had only seen the first one of these so I was really impressed that they went for some more interesting shots in this movie, like the jail sequence and the creepy shots of Elfrendo. And all the changes only felt like they tied the story together better for the runtime, so it was more concise and focused. I give it a 6.5/10, it was super cute.
I honestly think that Long Haul would make a pretty solid movie, because I like the plot of it, and the movie would be pretty cool. I do however like cabin fever, tho.
I like how the motion animation looks, a throwback to 2004.

It was actually...not that bad. I respect the new change and what they did with this. It's honestly a good movie with a great turn around from the other animated movies. Could be a good turn for these movies...

I feel like the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series has sort of softened up over the last 5 years or so. You see more of the family, Greg’s going on some sort of whacky adventure. Some people may say that it’s not true to the first three or four books, but honestly the change of pace is refreshing.
Well, yes, is almost impossible for any franchise to keep the same pacing as the early material.
But despite that, the later books sometimes brings different scenarios or characters, and why not, a good laugh.
The last straw: WHY??

Jeff Kinney did say when Production on 'Cabin Fever' he Said on -Twitter- X of doing the the Books Not in Order. But back in 2012, Jeff Kinney wanted to make a 'Cabin Fever' Animated for FOX from an interview on his Newest Book 'Hard Luck' It was going to be a Half-Hour Special going to be aired in 2014 It was getting developed in 20th Century Fox Animations. But this did got Revived for What we have now, But it's a Christmas Movie which is also Alright.
Maybe the wimpy kid movie universe has caben fever take place after Roderick rules like some fnaf timeline🐸
Jeff says that he wants to write wimpy kid up to when he dies "it will end when I end". Considering thst he writes one new book every year, along with a new movie adaptation every years because he wants to make a movie for every book, plus his age of 52, and the fact that there are 15 books AHEAD of 3 movies because we have 3 movies with 18 books currently out, the LAST wimpy kid book will be put out from 2051 - 2068 before he dies, and using 2068 to add 15 years represented by the 15 books ahead of the 3 movies, we will be seeing the LAST wimpy kid movie in 2101. If that was too much for you brain to comprehend, you are not a true wimpy kid fan and need to restart preschool (just kidding!). Now about these movies, I would rank them in this order:
1. Cabin fever
2. Rodrick rules
3. Wimpy kid
I don't have anything particular to say about these movies other than that the animstion sometimes looks to simple, unexpressive, or stiff, and that the movies look still like a Roblox game. These movies are without a doubt getting better and this movie definitely shows that! Christmas Cabin Fever is easily the funniest movie of the 3 animated movies so far, especially that one part where Manny calls the dad (Frank) a dictator "Dictator. I can't with you people.". Snd the snimstion is improving and becoming more expressive, but just as Awsomeay says, these wimpy kid animated movies don't fill the void of comic movie adaptations in between AND in comparison to The Peanuts Movie and The Captain UnderPants movie.
The live action dog days is basically last straw and dog days but have 90% of its story from last straw

Fun fact: there was supposed to be a live action cabin fever, again produced by 20th century fox. I was scrapped for unknown reasons, maybe because of writing the books.
