    This was helpful! Would have liked to see how you hold the ring shank while soldering. I feel I have a hard time keeping things in place while doing the ring to the plate. Thanks!

      Same. This is what I needed help with the most and she skipped that part. It's still a great video though :)

    I just found you and your videos are amazing!
    Sorry to ask, but for the stone base, can I use 24 gauge sheet?
    Thanks and keep doing your videos...

      I use 24ga for all my projects. I wouldn’t go any smaller cause the metal will bend.

  • @ManypossibilitiesGaoLY

    For your ring shank do you use soft or medium hard?

    • @thehautebohemian5753
      @thehautebohemian5753  Před 4 lety

      Gao Yang I use soft metal. It ends up hardening when I put it in the tumbler.

    So you soldered the double band before cleaning the silver? I thought we can't do that because the solder won't flow? Thanks for the help. I'm a newbie silversmith

      Hi, thanks for asking! I made this video a while ago. Now I usually sand the back of the silver plate before I solder any ring shank on. I haven’t had any issues yet.

    Thank you kindly for offering this information. May I ask what type of silver wire this is? Can this be done with half round wire?

    • @thehautebohemian5753
      @thehautebohemian5753  Před 3 lety

      This is either 12 or 14ga round wire. I’m sure this can be done with half round wire.

  • @kathybradbury
    @kathybradbury Před 4 lety

    Nice! (I’ve been cheating, there’s a double half round wire you can buy premade, then just saw the ends apart) but your way works for any weight and shape of wire!😃

      @@thehautebohemian5753 In that case, it's officially called texturing 😅😍
