      Still testing the Thunder II. So far all I can tell you is that the King GT is heavier and faster than the Thunder II :-) Very different scooters. I'm still learning a lot about the Thunder II though. Braking data is on my desk, but I haven't analyzed it yet. :-)

      We're actually really curious about how it would be in the snow. With the right tires it could be interesting. I'm not sure if dual motor would be a plus or not in deeper snow.
      I would be very concerned about getting stuck though. It's very heavy at 125.4lbs /57kg (measured) and would be difficult to pull out of a snow drift if something went wrong. -Paul

    wow i didnt realize this one was so dramatically better than the wolf king. that 55m range vs 33.4 from the king is amazing. id say that alone makes it worth the extra $800 over the price of the normal king (if you have the stamina to manage to do rides like that of course lol).

      It's another bootleg, all these scooter companies are copying designs/frames/wiring patterns and using similar or same components for much of it but none can program the bike to display a correct reading on the battery??? My brother bought a scooter for 2k+ and one of his brakes just stopped working (after only using it a few times) surprise there was no pressure in one of the brakes (loss of liquid) the brake calipers looks like those good 4 pistons that Magura and Shimano sell yet after barely using it, having a major malfunction. Similar frame, wiring, brakes, motors, levers, suspension etc... it's almost exactly the same with that stupid battery percentage malfunction

    anyone watching this video who's on the fence. I bought one a few days ago. HOLY MOLY this is the most fun I've had in a damn long time. I'm still adjusting so I haven't gone past mode 2 dual motor yet. But it's awesome even in mode 2., Still has decent feeling torque and can go 27 which will probably be plenty for putting around. My old scooter was a Ninebot Max G30 and even in mode 2 this is a lot faster and more powerful. And there are still 3 higher modes (crazy) And coming from a scooter with no suspension, this thing rides like a Rolls Royce compared to the Ninbot (So cal roads are TERRIBLE terrible)
    Can't even imagine how it will be once I'm able to ride in mode 4 or 5. EGS's video pretty much sold me on it, I definitely don't want to go 60, but the range and acceleration are super and somewhere around 40mph will probably be perfect for me.

      This is a good question. The Nami handlebars are 2" higher at about 42 inches (1.07m) from the deck, but either one is going to be really really good for taller riders. Ramier likes the GT better because he likes to ride fast, and even after adjusting the suspension on the NAMI the GT has better high speed stability. Square wave controllers = carburetors, flat heads and side valves.
    Sine wave controllers = EFI twin cam, multi valves.

      Square wave is more efficient at high speeds though. And way more reliable. I just bought a dualtron recently and this made the difference for me. I personally think it's overhyped for what it is. In the EUC world they are so much more efficient because they use a single motor and no moving parts beyond that and the suspension. Now the Hunter Quad brings us back to the stone age by putting on 4 zoom brakes 4 low power controllers and 4 motors for what reason? I don't like Wepeds but they do the same thing with two motors and two brakes and get better results...

So that it's easier to lock up the wheel? Because obviously if they wanted better braking performance they'd put some high quality brakes on it rather 4 cheap zoom brakes. Same goes for the motors and controllers, why 4? What's the advantage other than the fact that you can scream in the middle of the street that you have 4 of everything like they did on their presentation... Paul, in your honest opinion, is this a high quality product? Performance aside, there will be no shortage of performance reviews, my question is, can you sniff a bit of say Yamaha quality? I'd love to upgrade my scoot, but am patiently waiting for a quality product to come along. So far I've narrowed it down to the Inokim OXO, but it's old school motor controllers give it too low a top speed.
    This product looks pretty good at first glance.

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  Před 2 lety +2

      The OXO is top quality, but has a throttle lag that would bother many motorcyclists. When you crack the throttle it starts building power, then if you let off and re-engage quickly, the throttle snaps back to where it was. But if you roll off for 5 seconds and go back to full, then it gives you a little throttle and starts the build up again. It's a lot like a 1980's turbo. Chuck still loves it, but I really feel like I have to ride around the effect.
      I do feel like the GT is as close to motorcycle grade as you can get. My Ultimate GT would have thicker fork oil, or maybe even get the forks re-valved because there is very very little damping. (opportunity missed by Kaabo, but maybe intentional to prevent fork seal leaks?) I'd extend both fenders. After a long ride in the rain, I'd also check the deck seal around the battery. It's hard to seal an area that large with a rubber gasket and relatively thin cover. You can very likely get a twist throttle that would fit. That reminds me! I have a twist throttle for the EMOVE Cruiser. The Cruiser also uses this same thumb throttle (with same dead space) as the GT...... that means...OMG... I could have been riding the GT with a twist throttle this whole time time...... now I can't wait for Monday to see if I can put a proper twist throttle. I'm supposed to be done testing the GT, but...This could be amazing. Will report back. -Paul

      As for such things as dampening, spring rates matched to hydraulic valving, propper bump stops, you know the kind of things buyers of even the cheapest of Japanese brand motorcycles have been taking for granted for the past 20 to 30 years, it will no doubt come to the e scoot sector.
      One thing I've learned from watching your reviews is, the products are improving quite a bit in a short period of time, this whole performance "kids e kick scooter thing" has just taken off in recent years only, an I can see why, more fun under the sun than one could have ever imagined possible, plus super convenient transport, win win, fun fun, but who knew?
