UFC 277 was my first time going to a live event an the atmosphere was incredible. Every take down, every knock down, every elbow, every kick had us on our feet. Amanda and Juliana went to war and I'm so happy I got to witness it live!

without a doubt amanda wasnt 100%. Apparently the first camp amanda was really overweight cause of covid and knee injury and it was more of a fat camp. Still nunes easily won rd 1 then all of a sudden in rd 2 she lost her cardio and julianna got her chance.

I've never seen her in better shape. Cardio wasn't an issue whatsoever you can tell she put in the work for this one.
Cardio wasn't an issue? She nearly died in the last two rounds and all she did was lay on top of Pena and gave up striking out of pure exhaustion.

Maybe she laid on her because she had the fight in the bag, was having success on top (take a look at penas gash on her forehead) and she was mitigating risk. Live hands can change the course of any fight. It wasn't due to a low gas tank.
I mean she had covid last fight at least right before the fight and had to pull out. Clearly the effect of Covid were still there it should be praised that she showed up and tried to fight through it.
You could tell she had no power on her punches that last fight forget how fast she gassed she was trading with Pena and Pena stood there and took it. NO ONE EVER stands there and takes shots from Nunes which showed this fight when she connected Pena went flying. To me that clearly shows Covid was the reason for the loss last fight.

It was obvious at a certain point that Amanda just wanted to either tap her or keep going for the full 5
In another one she lost conciousness for like a second. Promise you. The second time she kd peña, juliana just went out or a second and come back like extra confused a second later on the floor. Crazy fight.

Watching this whole fight I was like she tryna GSP her. after Pierre lost to Sierra and got humbled he made it his mission to embarrass his opponents for 5 rds. Said he didn’t care about knocking out juiced up fighters he wanted to dominate them.

Pena had multiple moments that put Nunes in trouble.
No doubt, Nunes had a better game plan. But she wasnt close to dominating Pena.

Both ladies left it out on the line, they sold it well and came through! When I saw AN vids last week, noticed the southpaw and that was epic in this fight. Shoot by JP was countered with that right, threw her off big time and IF they did train for it, you couldnt tell. But to me that was fight of the night.

This fight was what I expected in the first fight, but Pena had her Matt Serra moment. A shame she didn't have better trainers... Nunes seemed gun shy at times but won since she didn't quit this time...

Amanda completely dominated the fight. Even the commentators noticed she wasn't going for the kill, which was strange. Now it all makes sense: she was just making a point. Peña had NOTHING for her. As others have said before, the first win was just a fluke. Peña's striking is just horrible, chin all the way up, terrible looping punches, painful to watch.
Pena the nate diaz of female fighters without the hands 🤣. Nunes def tried to finish her in the 5th though with that choke and those elbows

Great fight. Nunes did a great job strategizing and getting in shape.
Pena was in amazing shape, showed great skill and heart, but wasn't prepared to make adjustments to Amanda's strategies.
Pena didn't adjust to that counter left hook fast enough and it zapped her strength getting dropped that many times. She was over committing and running into that left hand. The adjustment should have been single jabs on balance "or" lead right hand with tucked chin left hand staying home and rolling to a duck and stepping out to her own left.
Great observation but even if she made the adjustment Amanda is just stronger she dropped Pena 5times she is the GOAT.
This fight was massive for both fighters. Simply incredible

i know people say julianna's best chance with amanda is grappling but even there amanda has a higher belt (being a black belt in bjj compared to pena's brown), so unless its like cat zingano who has more years of wrestling experience, i will find it laughable when people say all these opponents have an advantage in grappling vs amanda.

She didn't get the finish because she couldn't get the finish. She was gassed, which is why she shot on Julianna in the last 2 rounds. Her last couple of fights have shown that her cardio can't keep up. Valentina would murder her at this point.

Amanda looked much better. Not a fan of people calling themselves the goat. Not even Michael Jordan does that and he's hands down the greatest. Still believe Valentina is the best most skilled female fighter in the game. I think a 3rd fight is likely.
I'm a huge fan of Amanda and even though she still won I could tell she wasn't throwing the bombs of punches she usually throws. She explained why she could have finished her but wanted it to last five rounds to pove herself, I guess. Compare her punches in this fight to the ones that she was threw against Cyborg. I like the old Amanda better. Still a GOAT. 😄

But she wasn't jumping on Pena after the knock downs and you can't say she was afraid of the ground because she deliberately went to ground on the last 3 rounds. She was really giving Pena opportunities to stand up again. After the third knock down Pena was struggling to get up quick.
