XQC needs to make sure that if he gets a cat it isn’t a super needy cat like a Siamese. It’s better to have a chill cat that won’t be bothered that he’s preoccupied most of the time. I would definitely recommend going to a shelter. Most orange cats are great for being affectionate but not so clingy that you can’t leave them be. Or like my Calico she is completely independent. Cats are typically low maintenance all he needs to do is make sure he’s not leaving stuff out that a cat can get into and get sick from.

Most pure bred cats are socialized since kitten hood and have a healthy bond with mom/dad. They usually are more clingy. He’s better off with one from the shelter whose just happy to have a calm safe environment.
Russian blues are indoor cats, playful and not very loud. Also worth mentioning they look like models 🐐

I really don't think X knows how much responsibility owning a cat is - and most people who say its easy and low maintenance is 99% neglectful and when u meet their cat its always all kinds of f'd up. I foster and know that a lotta people who buy into the "low maintenance" idea mostly adopt from breeders and then after a few months give the cat away to a shelter bc they can't handle it. Its sad and causes unnecessary suffering. If you really want to care for one, adopt from a shelter as a rescue bc there are millions of adults and kittens that don't have homes and will likely be put down otherwise.
But for X, especially with travel and from what I've seen in this video, I would not recommend one. Its all sorts of work like shoveling poop half ur week, cleaning random vomited fur-balls around ur house, giving up a lot of ur time and attention to the cat, regular vet visits, grooming or having fur on all ur clothes, making the house cat friendly - activities for ur cat to do to stay sharp and healthy and not get depressed, blah blah I think X would hate it lol all for a few moments of sitting in the corner looking cute.

Get a shorthaired breed, if you get a ragdoll thats longhaired, your whole house is gonna be infested with cat hair. Trust me, i have 2 ragdolls, my black underwear is almost white of all the hair, and i even get cat hair under my foreskin!

There are cats that don't shed at all because they have no hair, or not the type that sheds, but they are all prone to health issues. I think you should get a Siberian. They have very good genetics, are not known for meowing, and they are very friendly, even to visitors not just their 'family', which would obviously be good for your living situation. They also produce less of the protein that causes allergies making them 'hypoallergenic', which is great if you are inviting people over all the time. Allergies are very common.
I have 3 Ragdolls of my own. And they are my life.

i like how he said he wanted a small cat and the first one he talks about is one of the biggest breed of cat there is. also dont get Scottish folds, they are in constant pain from the cartilage issue they have that makes the ears fold.
bengals are 10k+ but they actually have really good health compared to the breeds we have today since its mixed with a serval. *savanahs are also a good 10+
Just make sure when you travel with the cat you give it like half a tab of drowsy gravol, or whatever your vet recommends, to kelp the stress not be so high during travel, and make transitions to new spaces easier.

this video gives me faith in X’s chat as they too realized how dumb of an idea this is. it seems to just be another spur of the moment decision from x, and if so, he’s really underestimating the time and effort it’d take to care for a cat, let alone, another living being. if he isn’t buying it with the intent of dedicating most of his life to it and is instead buying it just for the sake of it, just stop. not only would he have to cut out significant chunks in his schedule to make room for his cat’s needs, but he would also have to start doing ACTUAL chores around the house like cleaning (especially considering the very high possibility that his new cat could fuck some shit up around the house while he isn’t looking) which is impossible considering he’s incapable of even cleaning his room on a daily basis like a toddler.
as the saying goes: you don’t own cats, cats own you. and i can only see this ending in a couple of ways: either he ends up neglecting his cat, accidentally feeds it black mold (as one of the donos cleverly pointed out), gives it brain rot from all of the tiktoks he watches, gives up entirely and forces his roommate or a relative to take care of it, or just completely lets go of it.

I have a pure bred marble Bengal, while they may not have "fur" they have a coat they shed A TON of hair. Pretty playful & active they do better when there are large areas to run, not super talkative compared to my other felines but will let you know they are there. Also I think concern for genetic issues is mostly unessesary, have had zero health issues ever scince we got her.
