- Additional notes: I have been leaving the water supply on all the time, but I still like having a shut off conveniently accessible on the countertop. Should I go on vacation, I would probably shut off the water supply from there.
Thank you man, excellent that you included the parts, prices, and explanation, you make the world a better place 🙌🏾
tysm. this was one of the only 2 videos I could find on this topic. Can you show us how everything looks under the sink as well?
Which one was the other one you saw?
Man you need to make these as kits and sell them!! I'd be the first to purchase LOL. All of the time and research you did bump the price up for your profit. Thank you much for this video!!
Dude, THANK YOU!!! I just bought a Comfee' countertop dishwasher that I'm going to need to set up on a table next to my countertop (since the clearance space is just a quarter inch shy the height of the dishwasher 😂), and same as you, I want the permanent set-up.
I really appreciate the itemized hardware and cost breakdown. You ROCK! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
These all seem to be made by the same factory in China with different front doors. I have a Danby Countertop dishwasher (DDW631SDB) and the yellow supply connector accepts a dishwasher connector kit. Only need to buy three things from ACE Hardware. (Dishwasher Supply Line #4061180 $25.99, 3/8in Repair Valve #4309399 $14.99, Add A Tee Adapter #4309001 $12.49).
Supply 2nd: To use the same supply hose but cut off the end and add an extension. (1/2 in. Barb X 3/8 in. Comp Brass Adapter #4000473 $6.99, 3/8in Stainless Steel Supply Line #4058681 $9.99 , and a Hose Clamp #41143 $2.59).
The drain side: You have a few options, pull the bottom of the dishwasher off, pull the gray hose from the drain connector, unscrew and replace connector with (3/4in barb coupling #4568242 $2.79, 3/4in Vinyl Tubing, dishwasher tailpiece #43783 $7.59, Tailpiece Washer #44373 $2.49, and two hose clamps #41143 $2.59).
Drain 2nd: You can also size down to 1/2in (1/2in X 3/4in Barb Coupling #4568259 $2.39, 1/2in Braided Vinyl Tubing #4315503 $16.99, Dishwasher Branch Tailpiece w/ 5/8in outlet, Tailpiece Washer #44373 $2.49, and two Hose Clamps #41143 $2.59).
Drain 3rd: What I did to use the same connector, cut off the end and add an extension. (1/2 in. Barb X 1/2 in. Barb Galvanized Steel Coupling #41763 $4.99, Cut to measure 1/2in Braided Vinyl Tubing #4027603 $1.79/foot, Dishwasher Branch Tailpiece w/ 5/8in outlet, Tailpiece Washer #44373 $2.49, and two Hose Clamps #41143 $2.59).
I made a hole in the stainless steel sink and run the lines down under the sink through a Bulkhead ABS Slip x Slip fitting to make the hole nice.
Gonna use this info this week, just ordered the dishwasher yesterday, thanks for your insight.
so that particular one you plumbed in directly. I am trying to do this
@@suziegretzer3780 Yes, I opted to cut a new hole so I could also continue to use the spray nozzle. If you have a stainless steel metal sink, use a graduated step drill with safety glasses and small bottle of milling oil. Any oil will do, because it helps lubricate the bit and collect the filings. You can deburr by drilling from the other side. Here is a video of how it can be done czcams.com/video/ORXqvOevRbA/video.html
any idea what the thread size is of the supply hose that comes with the dishwasher where it connects to the faucet adapter?
@@MindsDozer No Idea. I mean that because its a made up thread size for the dishwasher only. Maybe another country standard, but its not a standard pipe thread from USA. I can sell you my supply hose. I have an extra one that will work. $25. Let me know.
Bless you🙏 I just bought one of these & your video was incredibly helpful! Not a plumber, just a handy person like you 😅 but I think your solution (minor tweaks to make it work for me) will be perfect! Thank you so much 😅‼️
Very helpful. Thank you! My plan is to connect the entire thing to the main water supply. This vid has been very helpful...
Good job! There is an easier way... cut off metric nylon small ends (which we can't find anywhere in the US!) splice Plex with have 1/2in crumps. 2 cuts, 4 crimps, 1/2in shark bite tee, 1 disposal boot.
EXACTLY! Brass T with 1/4 tap for water to DW, connect with hose clamp. Use DW branch tailpiece for drain, connect with coupling and clamps. Drill countertop hole and cabinet hole for under sink installation. No unsightly hoses!
Dealing with the same project, thanks for sharing, Bud!
Thanks for the help man. Getting ready to do this myself, but I'm going to drill a hole to the countertop. Planning on replacing them in a few years anyway. Was struggling with how to figure out the connections this helps a bunch.
Just what I needed. Thanks so much, saved me a plumbers bill!
Love the video, there isn't much info on this and your video helps alot
Thanks so much. I had trouble too and was also told they didn't know what connection was at the end of the tube.
People.... cut it off. Clamp it to the drain. Nothing bad is going to happen.
Mine is installed like that and water is on all the time. No problem at all.
Good job! Would've been nice ti see the connector behind the dishwasher it self... That's the one I can't figure out. The connectors of these countertop dishwashers are made so they won't fit anywhere.
Hell yeah. Thanks for the video. Do you know what happens if you do keep water pressure on nonstop (ie without that nozzle you put in?) kinda wanna just do it without having that nozzle
I have this same dishwasher and I love it but it does take a ton of room on the countertop I want to put it within a cupboard underneath... so see if that would work for you... the front of course would face front in the cupboard which this is wide os I'm just thinking of cutting the cupboard a bit wider --
Thank you!
Dude this totally worked for me. Followed your list. Had to figure out how to assemble this set up as I went because you didn't exactly show how it went and you didn't point out some of those parts you ordered had to be rearranged (take some of the attachments off) in order for them to fit but man you saved me a from a huge headache.
Also want to point out that I had a 1inch opening for the garbage disposal drain. I had to attach a extra one inch Inner diameter vinyl braided hose to the 1inch outer diameter one you have on your list.
Last thing I want to point out is that I have a totally different company/brand type of dishwasher but they provided the same hoses. I'm assuming any dish washer that uses the original hoses you show then this video should work for them.
Nice you're able to figure it all out. You have an Edgestar or Danby?
@@debrac1688 for dishwasher? Nope. I got a generic one from Amazon but it is still working well and we use it everyday, specially for our kids baby bottles since it has a High Temp/Sterilized mode. Love it. It's made by hOme.
Best part is I got it for free lol. The delivery driver threw it over our gate. And I mean he tossed that sucker lol. I told amazon I had video proof on my ring doorbell cam and they didn't bother making it a hassle. They said keep it if it's damaged and we will refund your entire purchase lol.
I love ❤️ my dishwasher and you can WASH a large 🫕 if you wash it ALONE or with almost nothing else just gotta get angle right for pot to fit in dishwasher also do you cut dishwasher pod in half i find a whole is too much also thank you for explaining this set-up
Any chance we can see the backside dishwasher hookups? Attempting to do the same thing, but want to make sure I understand which size fitting you’re using to connect the water to the machine.
By the way thanks for this video. There is very little information online about this!
Is the 3/4” adapter that goes into the orange inlet on the washer super tight? I can only twist a couple turns and I think it will leak… how did you get it to seal?
I really want to put mine under the sink, the only problem is my trap is above the dishwasher, does the pump have enough power to push the waste water up above the trap? I am honestly considering making a separate reservoir and using a separate pump with a float bowl switch, keeping my wand and routing the waste water hose through the fourth hole normally used for tertiary wand
I bought the universal kit about the sizes was to big or to small.
I have one of these, it heats the water so shouldn't you contic to cold water? We only run ours with cold water
Is it actually permanent or can you remove it when moving out? Do you recommend this for renters?
Oh there’s a very simple way to this all you need is a female adapter BSPP very straightforward and will fit your existing 3/8 valve
Are you serious!! This might be exactly what I’m looking for. The inlet thread are def not standard US pipe thread (mip/fip), but the BSPP is hard to come by. Going to give it a shot, thank you!
Do you guys turn on the water supply right before you turn on your machine?
I have an Edgestar - wondering if it can handle the constant pressure of the water or if I have to install a valve
I don't have an edgestar, but I do have the black and decker version. We use our countertop dishwasher all the time. Its never been disconnected from the water line. 1.5 years later and its still going strong.
Why would you NOT show the parts and HOW they fit together? This is supposed to be instructional-yes?
4:36 has the entire list clearly .
It is also shown (alot more clear IMO) from 7:11 to 7:21 in case anybody has trouble reading said list during that split second at 4:36 lol
So, does anyone know, do you have to turn the water on and off every time you want to do dishes from the incoming hose with that valve stop switch ?
So you'd have to have that in a convenient place I'm assuming ?
Basically, will water go everywhere if you don't shut off the water to the dishwasher ?
He kind of said something about it in the video which made me think of it...
I hope it's not true or it'd be a huge waste of water if you forget to shut it off.....lol
Please let me know because I'm considering getting one that's portable, but bigger, and don't know if there's a difference between the two.
I hope that's not the case...
Otherwise, this isn't a bad idea, but I want to go into the line that my old normal dishwasher is in.
Not into the sink...
It looks just like a garden hose hook up, and hopefully the drain can go to the same place as the old dishwasher too.
Thanks for the list, hopefully it'll work for me too, although I think I need different parts.
Just want to know about the water situation if anyone knows the answer.
Thanks !!!
I keep the water on. No issues.
I hooked mine up, or so I thought. When I turn the water on, it starts to fill. Power or no power, no difference. If the water supply is on, the machine is filling. How can it have a start timer if you HAVE to turn the water on and off for it to start/finish? I thought the first one was defective and sent it back. Dishwasher #2 doing the exact same thing.
Hey, I had this same issue when I hooked up the drain to the water inlet. It happened because there was pressurized water being fed into the drain of the unit so nothing stopped it from backflowing and overflowing the dishwasher
did you figure this out because mine is doing the same thing.
@Ebrad88 I cut the lines and plumbed them in under the sink. It was pretty easy, and idk anything about plumbing.
I was asked to hard plumb one of these in and I am experiencing the same, it continues to fill no matter what. I have the drain hard plumbed into the garbage disposal. What am I missing? Getting "E4" error.
Why didn’t you reach out to the manufacturer?
Dam to use what you used now it's 113.43 omg
… But honestly, not having to hurt my back bending over the sink washing dishes I would be happy, carrying a bus been to the laundry room, or anywhere else in the house to wash dishes
Seriously, is it that insane to wash your dishes? Were you wash your clothes?
I think it is more insane that we brush our teeth where we poop
1st those who are watching this KNOW what that connector is designed to do, 2nd you sound like your not sure what you bought? and 3rd WHY didnt you show the connections under the SINK? so all this makes sense? why if you go on vaca is a shut off valve ONLY to your DW a GOOD thing, if such a good idea, SHUT WHOLE HOUSE OFF LMAO. the DW wouldnt ALWAYS have water on in the OG design, UNLESS its connected to a faucet with water TURNED on, BUT yes DW normally have a constant supply
ATLEAST you have the parts list i was able to write down and google each item to figure out what your TRYING to tell us, it DOES same me time, cause ill figure it out at the store.
Omg this was a head ache waiting
OMG this was torture...
It's called a "universal dishwasher installation kit." Look into it.
I wonder why his local hardware store didn’t suggest that if it’s so “obvious”? Maybe it’s different for this dishwasher?
Those are for a normal dishwasher.
The problem with a counter top unit is the drain line. They have some weird thread that isn't a plumbing thread. While at the plumbing supply store, a plumber was listening and told me about it.
The supply line fortunately is 3/4" NPT.
@@markchidester6239 Then cut off the threaded part. Those drain hose for those countertop dishwashers are a dime a dozen. I plumbed both supply and drain underneath the sink. It looked nothing like this. I cut the drain hose just before the threads on the drain end and clamped it to a dishwasher drain tail under the sink. I added a "T" to the hot water supply and hooked the supply line to it. Done - five minutes!
Yeah, seems like an ordeal. I just bought a standard fill and drain hose. I couldn’t find a drain hose with a small enough fitting, so I just tightened the Jubilee clip until there were no leaks.
@@origamibutturfli9179 Can you do a video and show underneath? It's so easy, I hope it won't be a problem.
Omg just terrible
