One of those little gems from the 70s that you don't hear for a while but when you do, its a brilliant song and it is smooth like silk.
Exactly!😊
Great song ...great band!!
1970's baby!! 💯🎶❤️🎶
exactly, there is so much good music in the 70's, a great tune like this might be little forgotten
God, we were so spoiled in the 70s with just endless great songs like this.
I know, right??
I always loved the song "Runnin" really shows how good these musicians were. TY Rob Squad
Right?!? And we had NO idea that it wouldn't last forever!
This was driving to Vermont to visit grandma music. We were so fortunate
Jay & Amber, "Whatcha Gonna Do?" was their other top 10 hit !
Love that song! Love it! 70s R&B.
Yew, that's a good one also
Love that song?
@@allisonballenger3903 Of course. You don’t?
@@AnthonyWilliams-ot1ykOne of my first concerts ever at 9. They played during an ice storm in SC. I loved the band and was surprised when my brother and I were the only 2 Black people there. The song was played on both Rock and the R&B radio station. It was awesome and we met the band after the show. They asked me what made me a fan because I was so young. I explained I was learning saxophone and discovered I could play songs by ear and their 2 hits I heard, I learned to play fairly easily.
Imagine a concert billing of Eagles, Steve Miller Band and Pablo Cruise. It was a reality in 1977.
FANTASTIC times
Met Stadium in Minneapolis. Rained all night but we stayed for it all.
For Real? I'm very impressed! I was only 9 when this song came out and went to see Pablo Cruise then. I didn't see Steve Miller until the Abbra Cadaddra tour and the Eagles when they reunion in the 90's. I bet your concert was incredible!!
Saw that one at Comiski Park, Chicago. Me and 3 friends, all 16 or 17 years old. No adults, my how times have changed .
That’s everything!! I can only imagine!
Pablo Cruise... Blast from the past! They were way cool.
Her Capacity for Joy really makes my heart pitter patter.
Awww, for a few minutes I was thinking of simplier times in the 70s, cruising around with friends. I am 65 now still remembering. Great reaction as always.
Keep cruisin'!
🎉💪🏼
The 1970s...... oh my goodness! The Radio airwaves OOZED fantastic music!
No doubt!!
Yes they did!!🥰
@@carlastanley1138GREAT era for music.
Ahhh, the good ole 70s. You can’t beat 70s music.
Us 70s brats has a blast.
This is one of my favorite 70s songs. It’s one of the best up-tempo love songs there is!
Same here. I had forgotten about it until hearing it again in the 90s, and have been loving it ever since!
@@landreaulover Yeah, I had forgotten about this song. I don’t think I had listened to it for over 10 years until I signed up for Amazon Music Unlimited about 6 years ago. I rediscovered it as I was building my 70s playlist. I’ve built my own catalogue of songs for each decade from the 60s until now. This song by Pablo Cruise is a great one for sure.
My favorite Pablo Cruise song.
I was in highschool when this song came out, Pablo Cruise was awesome back in the day 👍♥️🙏✝️✌️😎
I haven’t heard this song in years!
Still sounds good to me!
Who else loved that Will Ferrell wore a Pablo Cruise tee shirt in the movie Step Brothers? 🛥️🛥️🛥️🛥️🛥️🛥️
They actually had a little bump in sales from that. They were doing interviews like crazy at the time. Most people didn't even know they were still together
@@dawnpatrol700 I didn't know that; that's GREAT!!! Thank you!
Great summertime memories as a kid come back 🥰
I can't wait until you hit Pablo Cruise's other hit, "Runnin'". It's remarkable and atmospheric in THE BEST WAY! The piano, percussion and guitar solo are all amazing!
Pablo Cruise was a great band and great recording always good to hear again.
I haven't heard this in a while thanks guys
Another band I have seen live. This time as a naval recruit in San Diego. That's right, I saw Pablo Cruz in Boot Camp. A USO sponsored event. Trust me, it was a very regimented and stiff ordeal. Primarily because there were Marine recruits in attendance as well and their Drill Instructors had those poor marine recruits sitting at stiff attention. I'll never forget it. Every last one of them sitting perfectly still with their hands at their sides crunched into fists. A select few passing out cans of soda in a most orderly, disciplined way. On the other side, sailors dancing and cutting loose. Yelling with joy for the first time in weeks. Venting from the culture shock of boot camp. It was quite the contrast. An unforgettable event.
Regardless, chock up another band I have seen live in their prime. RSR has reacted to most of them by now, not all of them though.
This is one of my favorites from the late 70's and it still sounds fantastic after 40 years plus.
A 1970s classic thanks for your reaction
I'm glad to see Pablo Cruise get a little love. They were never a huge band but they made some great music. I think Whatcha Going to do was their biggest hit, but my favorite of theirs was always the title song of one of their albums, A Place in the Sun.
Whatcha Gonna Do and Runnin are two other fantastic Pablo Cruise songs!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Amber is not only swaying, but bopping and shimmying. Love it!
Nothing signifies riding down the highway on a sunny, summer day with the top down more than Pablo Cruise!
So many other great ones from Pablo Cruise...Whatcha Gonna Do, I Go To Rio, Cool Love, I Want You Tonight.
You've already done A Place In The Sun, I see.
The smooth sounds of the 70's! How about that bass intro, fantastic!
I saw them live back in 1980! They put on a hell of a show.
I saw them in 2019 and still put on an unbelievable show. They still had Steve Price, the original drummer, and he is a showman. Dave Jenkins now only does some of the vocals and they have 2 lead singers. Cory Lerios sang a new version of " this time" with revised lyrics and quite a few changes. I first saw them back in 2000 with Bud Cockrell, before all the new members joined . That was their 1st time getting back together, since the 80s
Ah, more of my 70s AM Gold. I love how you guys sprinkle in this genre it takes me back to my childhood in the backseat jamming to the 8 track out on a Sunday drive in a simpler time
I saw Pablo Cruise open for Manfred Mann, halfway through Manfred Manns set people were chanting for Pablo Cruise to come back on. This was when they had just released A Place in the Sun,which would be a great song to listen to.
That Voice. So smooth and silky.
Total Sunday morning coffee on the front porch with a summer breeze blowing type tune.
Gawd, it's been YEARS!!!!
THANKS for reminding me!
I've seen them as a warmup band to Bob Welch, Foreigner and Fleetwood Mac, great memories. Thanks!
What a line up. Sounds like it was a great concert...
I`m feelin` me some Motown! Do the Doobies " take me in your arms rock me rock me a little more ". Classic!
For female friday from the 70s, Melissa Manchester - don’t cry out loud, midnight blue, you should hear how she talks about you.
They need to also go back to Janis Ian with "Society's Child" and add some spice with Maria Muldaur's "Midnight at the Oasis"
I definitely recommend her super-fun hit "You Should Hear How She Talks About You." I think Jay and Amber will love it! Definitely a different vibe for Melissa Manchester, and one of my childhood favorites.
Yes, yes, and yes!
"Pretty Girls!"
I have been requesting Melissa Manchester for two years. Hopefully they will see your comment. I think they would like “Through the Eyes of Love” from Ice Castles. The violins are beautiful in that song.
Thanks for briefly sending back to my high school years.😊
A great summer of music in 1978...#6 on August 26...Kiss You All Over, My Angel Baby, Hot Blooded, Magnet and Steel, Life's Been Good were rockin' the airwaves🔥🤘
Love this Song!!!
Hearing Pablo Cruise brings me right back to 7th and 8th grade here in San Francisco! You must come out here, Amber!
Stationed in Va Beach in the Navy and I can remember cruising in my '69 Stang with this tape crankin'
Had a Pablo Cruise shirt when I was 14yrs old! And I was into "Hard Rock And Heavy Funk"🤷♂️
This song really brings back some memories. (flashbacks) The year was 1978 and I had just graduated from college. Party Time.........
Class of 78! Best times
"Cool Love". My absolute favorite song by them! 💗💗💗💗💗💗
Good on you for covering Pablo Cruise. Saw them about 8 years ago. Still sounded fantastic! ✌
Saw them in Miami in 1977...warm up for Bob Seger! The musicianship was superb...clean, spot on rythums, and Cory the pianist was surprisingly awesome!
Whatcha Gonna Do is their biggest hit!!! You guys have to get to that one.
I had completely forgotten about this song and this band.
Who remembers "My Girl Gone Gone Gone" by Chilliwack?
The mighty Wack! It’s still on my playlist!
I was listening to the song earlier today.
I remember it. An AOR station played it often in my area...
That is a great song ,I requested a reaction but no takers yet
I was a little kid with a bowl cut when this song hit the airwaves, and it has always made me feel so, so good. It's absolutely one of the most perfect pop songs ever made. "Blue-eyed soul" was a good catch - I'd put a finer point on it and call it "blue-eyed Philly soul." This could almost be The Spinners.
“Whatcha Gonna Do”, “Zero To Sixty In Five”, & “I Go To Rio”. Those three songs will show how eclectic their style is! 💯🔥🤙🏽😎
Pablo Cruise was one of those bands I heard playing at the beach in Lake Tahoe every summer back in the late 70's and early 80's. Great feel, great music.
A few additional tracks to check out are "What You Gonna Do?", "Atlanta June", "Don't Want To Live Without It", and "I Go To Rio". This band just makes you happy.
Warms my heart to see a couple of folks here recommending "Atlanta June" -- I bought their albums as a kid and fell in love with that song. Kept requesting it to be played on the radio (not sure why, since I could just play the record, lol -- but perhaps I just wanted to share the love), but never heard it over the airwaves.
“………I won’t be able to make it tonite because I’m at the bottom of the pool.” 😅
Pablo Cruise always had summer sounds.
What ya gonna do is another great song of theirs to check out 😊
I've seen them 4 times! They still bring the place down! First time about 1977. Last time: 2 years ago!
ohhh, this is one of those songs I heard a million times on the radio, way back when, but never knew the title or artist ... 'soundtrack of my childhood' 🙃💛🎵🎵
If you're at least 50 you know this song like breathing. It was everywhere from the radio to the supermarket music. From the first verse it brings me right back to my childhood.
My wife loves, loves this group. This was the first concert she went to. She was raised in San Francisco’s backyard!
Yes, yes, YES!!! Thank you for a good feeling that will last a week. Saw David, Cory and the guys this last year in a small venue show and after 50 years they’ve still got it. “I Go To Rio”, “Cool Love”, “Atlanta June”, “Runnin’” and “Whatcha Gonna Do?” are all winners in my book.
For Pablo Cruise... You need to listen to "I go to Rio".
I remember the band and this song well. They opened for the Doobie Brothers when I saw them in the late 70s.
Saw these guys in 78. They were the first act on a triple bill with Steve Miller and the Eagles. Great time.
Metropolitan stadium 1976. Still a legendary concert in Minnesota. Pablo opening followed by Steve Miller and Headlined by the Eagles .. now that's a summer outdoor concert still memorable today
I thought Pablo Cruise was a solo act and not a group. Learn something new everyday.
So not Tom’s brother?
I was probably only 11 or 12 when I started hearing this song in San Diego California in the late 70s.Goosebumps always!
Such an up beat, good feelin’, feet tapping amazingly rich song! Definitely a song to soothe your soul😊
Such a Great concert best stage set ever, 1978
We called them the summer band, it seemed like all of their hits came at that time of year.
Interesting. "Cool Love," another one of their hits was popular in the summer of 1981...
One of their songs I like is “what you gonna do when she says goodbye “
The funky, subtle back beat, soaring vocals, stellar, weaving backing vocals, never mind the arrangement. This is typical 70s when songwriting excelled and exceeded anything coming out today. Miss it.
Love this song!! And I think you will, too! Such a summer vibe ❤
I'm so glad that I'm in my 60s! We had the best music growing up 🎶
55 years! 55 frickin' years go by and I'm finally finding out who sings this song! Thank you Rob Squad!
46 years to be exact. Don't age me more than I am already!
"Atlanta June", "Whatcha Gonna Do?", "A Place In the Sun", "Ocean Breeze", "Zero to Sixty In Five" are all awesome hit songs by Pablo Cruise.
I've always liked this song, its nostalgic for me. Oddly enough, my earliest memory of this song was from day care. In the late 70s when this song was released I was in preschool, and remember this song being played during quiet time. The teachers were probably listening to a pop station during their down time.😊
All aboard. The very definition of Yacht Rock. Blue eyed soul. Fits right in with Hall & Oates, Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, etc.
Still on my playlist since they first released the song ❤🔥
"Chicano Soul".. to be exact. Beautiful, Latin, Soulful sound which has its own flavor. The Summer of 78.. 11 yrs old going to the park pool in Riverside CA..back in the day..this was on the radio.. everywhere. "8 Track" for your driving enjoyment....Another Home Run.. Rob Squad Family
Love this song...just makes you feel happy
Ah 1978... this reminds me of 5th grade, my block in Queens, NY... the memories... thank you so much!
Love the vibe. Solid bass guitar in this song, great harmonies and smooth sound. Classic 70's sound.
Y'all have become such connoisseurs.. I love it.
Ah reminds me of cruising in my 1970 Mach 1 Cobra Jet with my pretty blonde blue eyed baby on a warm summer evening. We are still together cruising 48 years later into the sunset. The 70's, what a great time to be alive and young with my favorite girl by my side and great tunes on the radio.
Classic 70’s. Pablo Cruise got some soul.
I actually got to see them live, almost forgot because it was in the early 80's. But I do remember it was fantastic!
This was the perfect song to listen to on the car radio back in the summer of '78...
We didn't know then how many memories we would make to these songs. Good times for sure!
Other Pablo Cruise gems include "Whatcha Gonna Do", "Don't Want to Live Without It, "I Want You Tonight" & "Cool Love".
Fun music. As one person noted, we were spoiled in the 70 and 80s
Part of the Game..by far this bands best album. Such a powrful list of great songs, one after another.. I Want You Tonight, When Love Is At Your Door, Lonely Nights, Givin" It Away, For Another Town, Tell Me That You Love Me, Part Of The Game, and last but certainly not least. How Many Tears... In my top 25 albums of all time
Love me some Pablo Cruise. Seen them a few times back in the 70's . :)
Oh summertime memories....of 1978
LITERALLY Blue Eyed Soul!
Cruising around town with my then fiance in his red Trans Am, just listening to this song, as well as so many others on the 8-track! The 70s were the absolute best!! ❤️❤️
Guys! You really need to check out Pablo Cruises zero to sixty in five Live version! It showcases this groups musical talents! You’ll be blown away!!
Flashback ~ All the memories of 7th grade 😄
They got their name from San Pablo Avenue that went through San Pablo ,Richmond and Berkeley so it was a great “cruise “ back in the day when everybody cruised in their cars on Friday and Saturday nights!
'Whatcha Gonna Do' is another hot one. 🔥
Such a great song!
I’ve always loved this song!
