- Since everyone things nag 1 is slow compared to 8 speed I figured we put the noise to rest. The 8 speed is great but it's not going to smoke or run away from the 5 speed 392. stock vs stock no tires, intake, tune, headers or anything. just straight from factory. they are always neck and neck. chances are the 5speed is more aggressive on a take off as u can see the 8speed has to play catch up and stay door to door..

That didn’t happen because the 5 speed has a harder jump. That happened because he needs a driver mod. You can’t ignore the facts. The 8 speed is generally the better transmission. Both cars make the same power. No other way around it

@@adrianleon1731 I don’t even own a BMW but if you did some research ZF actually sources their 8 speed transmissions to dodge and it’s the exact same ones found in most of the European cars😂if you hear enough of the different cares they almost all have the same gear ratios too

I haven’t seen much evidence that the 8 speed is any quicker than the 5 speed. More often than not I see the 5 speed win actually
A good well maintained 392 5 speed like mine won't be left in the dust by stock scat pack. I've raced more but it was pointless recording my neck and neck with them. We literally never go past each other
i have yet to be beat in my 2012 srt8 from a stock 8 speed especially at higher speeds the nag 1 has a higher top end. my buddy has a brand new shaker wide body scat and he was struggling after 162 i passsed at 167 and was still pulling good.

Sorry brother the stock SRT 392 versus the stock 392 scat pack is the same fucking car and your 6 speed is not beating an eight speed. These are driver cars so the first guy that pretty much get on the gas and knows what he’s doing is a guy that’s going to win but in your case you have a six speed and the six speed slower than eight speed. Stock versus stock the eight speed wins it all day long and twice on Sundays.
so all the 392 I raced aside from this one and was neck and neck were bad drivers too? The 5 speed srt is lighter, it puts power to the ground better, nag 1 has longer gear ratio, the only thing u don't get is extra gear. When in 150mph the 5speed SRT is starting to inch away from scat pack I don't record all of it but I've proven it with this video. Now if u find a 392 5 speed race him and find out but record it so we can see. U be surprised he's beside u except if it's those drivers who just drive and never take care of the car till it has engine problems
I’m not talking about 150 miles an hour or higher I’m talking about The quarter mile. the eight speed will Merc the 6 speed as I have seen it happen hundreds of times. The weight difference is negligible in these cars as it’s probably only a 50 pound difference. Roll racing and rolling from a dig are two entirely different animals.
the differential gearing makes the true difference in a drag race not how many gears you have, most old school cars built to drag race have 4speed and will smoke most modern cars
You have no idea what you’re talking about brother the automatic nowadays shit faster than any stick in the world can. The transmission that comes in Scats is one of the best transmissions in the world. As a matter of fact, the automatic scat pack destroys the stick scat pack in the quarter mile.

he literally took you before and after you bragged. Not only that he said he was in manual mode to your auto. The SRT8 392 charger stock is the slowest between them. it has the 470 and 5spd, but weighs as much as the new models. The SRT8 challenger weighs about 260-300lb less so it would be neck n neck.
