  • The Beatles’ brief 1966 tour of West Germany, Japan and the Philippines began on this day, with two concerts at the Circus-Krone-Bau in Munich, Germany.
    The shows took place at 5.15pm and 9pm. The second show was filmed by German television network Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen (ZDF), and followed a brief afternoon rehearsal set for the cameras. The footage was shown as Die Beatles on channel two on Tuesday 5 July, from 8-8.45pm.
    Also appearing on the bill were Cliff Bennett and The Rebel Rousers, The Rattles, and Peter and Gordon. The German leg of the tour was known as the Bravo Blitztournee, and was sponsored by the entertainment magazine Bravo.

    I used many Deep Learning algorithms to create the fully remastered version of this film. This whole process took me several days because of how slow the neural networks ran. Here were the tools I used in order to create this awesome version!
    ✔ Upscaled to 4K - with digital artifacts, but some parts are improved noticeably
    ✔ FPS boosted to 60 frames per second
    ✔ Colorized - please, be aware that colorization colors are not real and fake, colorization was made only for the ambiance and does not represent real historical data.
    ✔ Implemented original audio back into the video
    ✔ Sharpened the video
    ✔ Scratches, noise, and imperfections removed

    all that chaos for 15 minutes of Beatles performance. Musicians today have no idea how rough it was to go through this (from the Beatles perspective) No monitors and yet those GIANT custom made vox amps. The stage volume must have been beyond anything imaginable. and yet no one really heard them.

    • @wilegfass
      @wilegfass Před 2 lety +8

      This doesn't have all the songs they played. You can hear after the first song the opening to "She's a woman" before cutting to a different song. Your point is still good because the whole thing was probably just 30 minutes which is still short!

    • @erepsekahs
      @erepsekahs Před 9 měsíci +4

      Those are not 'giant Vox amps.' Those are Vox speakers, the amps are in top and separate.

    • @bugsycline3798
      @bugsycline3798 Před 9 měsíci +3

      @@erepsekahs actually you are QUITE WRONG there... those are Vox ul7120 heads. WIth matching cabinets. custom made for the Beatles in 1966. They were rated higher wattage and larger than anything available at that time. Boasting 120 tube wats. And to boot the 120 rating of those custom vox heads are considered to be "a conservative estimate" many people have mentioned those amp-providing power of more like 150 watts or higher.
      120 TUBE watts was the biggest and loudest amp IN THE WORLD at that time period.

    To me this is by far the best live recorded and filmed performance by the Beatles during their touring years . Crowd listens to this great music without screaming. Images are clear and the Music live is outstanding. Nowhere Man is outstanding . Its a shame the fans didn't listen to the concerts in other places instead of screaming. Never understood the reason for screaming when great Music is being played.

    * The first time I've seen Paul play bass while singing Yesterday.
    * The very first word "Yesterday" sung correctly by it's lyricist. Every one of it's 3,000 cover versions sing this opening word wrong.

    Pretty incredible when you consider they didn't have something as basic as stage monitors. Usually they literally could not hear anything onstage. Amazing.
    Also l love the shots of the young German guys in the crowd rocking out, you don't see that in most live Beatle clips.
    And after the first song they show a couple of German guys in the crowd and they are dressed the way l dress now...60 years ago.

    1966! Look at them! In four years from now they will split up... But not before they will make a lot of history in a few years.
    It will now only take one year when they present a complete revolutionary sound on Sgt. Peppers.
    The influential trip to India follows a year later.
    And it takes only three years from here when they will make one of the most iconic pictures of music history on Abbey Road.
    Lots of great moments and beautiful music in between!
    It's unbelievable how quick they changed the music scene. And it all happenend almost 60 years ago...
