- Two SANDF soldiers have been killed and 20 others wounded following a mortar attack on a base in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. The army personnel are stationed there as part of a SADC force to help the government fight M23 rebels. Another South African soldier was killed in May while two others died in February. SA National Defence Union's Adv. Pikkie Greeff says it is unacceptable to lose soldiers due to a lack of resources and finances. "The government needs to explain to the families involved," he says.

Send ramaphosa and his children to go fight in the drc
The two SANDF soldiers are part of SADC force in defence of Ramasofa
Like Gayton and Zille said: We have huge problems of our own. We should first clean up our own mess. Bring our men back home. This was the of Americans on Afgan when it was later too late
They're at war definitely, they will be lost of life; you can't go to war as soldiers and expecting to be a life...
You can go to war with proper equipment. 30 years of under budget by the ANC, We have zero ROOIVALK there, ZERO heavy artillery there. So ya, why we sending our troops without proper funding and equipment
Western countries,in complicit with African countries funnel the Congo war.
The AU should tell them to stop the greed.
Our politicians do not undetstand the situation. Give the ministry to the DA
There's no way we bring back kovoet and the terrible ones aka 32bn
The ruling party has been eating SANDF budget for 30 years at this point
Those are not rebels, they are Rwandian Army muscarading as M23 rebels
This country is wasting too much money in other countries. Why are our soldiers there when they can be deployed here to help with our crime and gangster problems? Why is this country wasting our money at the ICJ ?
Protectinb the mines of the Motsepe/Ramaphosa/Radebe mines as usual.
How do you expect soldiers to be safe on the battlefield? The problem here is SA is seems to be with the SADC troops but at the time offers support to M23 indirectly via Rwandan government. Dirty politics within SANDF if exposing the soldiers to rwandan mortars.
I think the SANDF doesn’t want to deploy a Rooivalk because M23 now has SAMs.
@@Bluecollarjoe6B9simply they cud introduce equipped drones, this days is all abt modern warfare nd rooivalks as an additional, this war wud have bn wrapped up by now unless our soldiers lacks of strategy
@@RSA-363 Ask the Congolese government what happened to their CH-4 attack drones.
@@TBenSano unfortunately I can't ask them as I don't hv access to Congolese government bt atleast u nd I can analyse together nd put our thoughts on the table bt to understand u, Congolese attacking drones are failing or hv failed.fr my side any soldiers at combat zone they meed air support in to advance
Rwanda is targeting SANDF to break the morale of SAns. But attacking camps that were not involved in any attacks against RDF is war crimes.
It is a deliberate targeting because Kagame (he said it last week on France 24) wants to do a land grab of Eastern DRC for economic reasons.
SANDF needs a plan and do things seriously.
what is South Africa's interest in this?
@tshililoclaudinahmugovheli5793 That's a fantastic question I've been wondering the whole time. Idk why we there in the first place but one thing which is certain is that no one should be allowed to inflict casualties on our troops and suffer no consequences.
If we are to remain there for whatever reason, there definitely needs to be an increase in resources.
There's no sadc force there, its only south Africa ,Tanzania, malawi. Where's Angola, Zambia, Mozambique, botswana, Lesotho ,Zimbabwe, Madagascar etc?
One Africa
what is the interest of RSA or Ramaphosa in congo
Coltan
Mines

It’s not a surprise, no air assets, no CASEVAC and no QRF.
To many commanders, no clear mandate and lacking logistics on the ground
Redeployable Camp Systems has foldable wall systems which get filled with soil.. If deployed inside a camp, between living quarters, at mess halls and ops rooms lives can be saved from indirect fire. I offered it to J OPS years ago to no avail. Also available at Canvas and Tent.
you should make a gameshow on your channel, just saying
Soldiers dying in camp by a daylight mortar attack, thats ridiculous, why was an early morning patrol not employed every morning, what about the eye in the sky, soldier in gaurd in the"aap kas"
We are not safe in county
But we know that he won't take decisions
