How wonderful to come across this !!
I have been a disciple within the Thai Forest form.of Buddhism for 13 years now and have stayed at Harnham on retreat.
The present Abbot is Luangpor Munindo, a wonderful teacher.
So lovely to see the gentleman who owned the land and was so generous and kind to the community.
This is a real treasure of a video, just like "The Buddha Comes To Sussex" and "The Mindful Way". Such valuable film documents of the pioneering days of the Thai Forest Tradition in Britain. 🙏

Wasn't that Buddha a Nepalese Prince, rather than an Indian one?

True! Nepal (Lumbini) is supposed to be the birthplace of Buddha. And it's a place I surely would like to visit some day. :-)

The Buddha long predates the modern nation states of India and Nepal.

@@1hullofaguy yeah but one is able to identify the land he lived upon and cross reference that with the modern countries name. And this Buddha we are discussing was born in an area of Lumbini, in Nepal, not in India.
