Man of Steel was $225 million, this is $80 million. And it already looks like they blew the budget on Anthony Hopkins and that one and only set piece being the spaceship.

Man! The amount of preparation that goes into making all these big budget action movies. I can't even fathom the level of coordination that every crew needs to have in order for this to come out perfect. All the efforts will be judged by the audience in just 2 hours.
Yeah even bad movies I always respect those who behind the scenes to make something fantastical.
And yet they can't hire good writers.
Hope they spend some time on a decent script.

Zack had complete control of this movie so yes it might look good visually (very debatable) but means the stories going to suck and be very very generic. Its magnificent seven in space

Just watched the premier last night. Wow! Mind blowing! The set, the cinematography, the great acting even the extras. Congratulations to Zack Snyder, his cast and crew! WOW! WOW! WOW! We just watched it 7 times since it aired at 8:00 pm last night 12/21/2023. Binged and stayed up late. So exciting! So ambitious! So challenging! And they nailed this BIG TIME!

and even starwars (1977) has many similar plot and scene with other movies and TV shows that are released before starwars...for exp - Flash Gordon, Hidden Fortress etc...
2. The magnificent Seven is itself a Rip-off of Seven Samurai (1954)... Zack said that Seven Samurai is his Fav. Film of all time... We can see the influence Seven Samurai more or less in almost all his movies...

As a filmmaker, one of my biggest admirations in regards to how Zach Snyder does his films, is the way he so beautifully blends both real world practical elements, with CGI. It's not just, "Let's go shoot this on a green screen sound stage and add everything in post." Which always gives movies that phony look. He shoots elements outside, with helicopters blowing up dust and moving the trees etc, then removes the helicopter and adds a CGI ship landing. I just love his style. I'll always be a Snyder fan no matter what he makes. He could come out tomorrow and say he's filming a porn and it'd probably be the first porn movie I watch from beginning to end. 😅

I'm not sure what you mean by horrible storyteller either, his stories in his movies have been very well put together and very detailed. Everyone may not always agree with his choices for what direction to take certain characters, but that doesn't make him a "horrible storyteller". Please elaborate what stories he could have written any better, since you seem to know what makes a great story teller.

A massive, epic film you can only watch on the small screen at home. 🙄 Netflix should release these types of movies on the big screen for at least 2 weeks. Not only will they get some money to help pay for the movie but they give fans a chance to see it the way it was meant to be seen. Also, having it on the big screen before streaming gives it more prestige.

@@Ryanthusar I'm not talking about doing it at the same time. You do a theatrical run first and then after it's out of the theaters then you put it on your streaming service. Streaming services, including Netflix have put some of their movies in theaters before they put them on their service and they have done pretty well in theaters. The studios can also make money in theaters to help pay for the movie. Plus, it's proven that if they go to theaters first, they actually do better when they go to the streaming service.

the sudden brutality of that low angle shot. the oppressive weight of the ships pushing down on the civilians as dust blinds them. all in one single image sequence. he just does it so much better than anyone else.

Now I can actually see how this kinda looks like Star Wars since this was zacks original idea to make a Star Wars films but got turned down by Lucasfilm. Those samurai swords look like they light up and will have different colors to them on the blades which we’re supposed to be lightsabers from the original story. I’ll definitely go check this out in theaters if it does get a theatrical release.
The molten blades are powered by gauntlets worn by Nemesis. I can't wait to see that.
