This song is already great just being a fan of music, but if you have watched all of Attack on Titan to the end, the video and lyrics really hit hard in it's meaning. One of the greatest shows I've ever seen, not just anime.

This song & AOT are so good! AOT is one of those animes that make me wish anime wasn’t so hated and judged. The show is a literal masterpiece and more people should watch it (even if you don’t like anime)

I can see how this would confuse someone who hasn't watched attack on titan, but for someone who has it makes perfect sense.
In the scenes where the band members look "cartoony", they are CGI 3D models. They would have scanned the band members whole bodies with a camera and then they would have performed the song in mo-cap suits, because it's a lot easier to get those effects of them dissolving if you just edit a computer generated model then it is to edit camera footage.

I think one is a reference to Bob Marley's music and the piece of video where he says 'nobody knows what's inside of me' is instead a tribute to the song 'seven nation army' by The White stripes. I say I think because I've never heard the authors mention it but it seems pretty blatant to me. The lyrics make a lot of sense. You havent watched Attack on titan thats why it is quite confusing to undertand what the lyrics actually mean. The lyrics are basically what the main character Eren is feeling. It pretty much just sums up his psyche.
