What the Lord cares about is our hearts. Outward appearances of obedience and following traditions is not what matters to God. What matters most is a repentant heart that knows his/her spiritual depravity and desperate need for Jesus.

In John 14 He says if you love Me, you will obey My commands. So yes, hearts matter, but bc we love Him, we walk in obedience. Obviously, we mess up, but He is there waiting for us to repent.❤

God is concerned about our hearts. He said the things that defile us are what comes out of our mouths which comes from our hearts (Matt 15:18, Mark 7:21).

All things created by God are good. How those things are used is sometimes not good.

When the need was greater and the resouces were less (feed 5,000 with 5 loaves), there were more leftovers (12 baskets). Here, feeeding less people (4,000) with more resources (7 loaves) left 7 baskets of leftovers. Shows that God can use our little resources for His work and that less resources is Not a disadvantage. Credit to my pastor in a recent sermon.

That Jesus tests our faith isn’t a reality that I think of often. But He seems to be doing that with the woman from Phoenicia, and God certainly tested Abraham’s faith on Mt Moriah, and He did as Jacob wrestled “with God.” Jesus wants not only to strengthen my faith, but also the faith of others around me.

I can't help but wonder if the significance of the 7 baskets was also to remind the disciples of the 5 loaves + 2 fish that He had already fed the crowd of 5000 men with plus women and children!

This is actually the second time recorded that Jesus heals someone who is a Gentile. It is interesting to point out that Jesus and the disciples went all that way for her. The first healing was the servant of a Roman Centurion. He had great faith too. Good Commentary, Tara-Lee. God bless you!

When your loved one dies, they are not fishin’ with daddy, and greeting and huggin’ mama and granny… they are on their faces worshiping a most Holy God.
If you don’t like reverence, worship, and fellowship with the brethren here on earth, your not gonna like heaven

I don’t think the three days of healing was a coincidence. Jesus spent three days healing the sick, then the multiplication of food emphasized the bread. Jesus spent three days in the grave and we learned earlier that Jesus is the Bread of Life. “Then Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I have compassion on the crowd because they have been with me now three days and have nothing to eat. And I am unwilling to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.”” Matthew‬ ‭15‬:‭32‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Help, help! Yesterday you discussed the term believe in context of its true original meaning. I started thinking about that in terms of John 3:16. It has to be more than “believe in Him”. Where can i do a deep dive into this in light of your discussion yesterday??????

@barbarajohnson1801 it says he fed 5,000 men plus women and children, so 15,000 is a good guess.
