This. Binaural mics capture lower frequencies much better than the typical shotgun mics that he uses. And we want to hear the bass differences better.

This is unfair comparison.
If you're using BassUp on the Soundocre and their Signature EQ (Bass to maximum) and Ult2 on the Sony, you should've also raised the bass to max on the JBL, instead of using stock EQ.

I’ve noticed a lot of CZcams reviewers using ult1 or ult2 and BassUp when comparing to JBL and leaving the JBL on stock EQ. I wonder why…

Because ult and bass up are actual buttons on the speaker without using an app and boombox 3 doesn't have a customization button

I’ll also say that I have the Motion Boom Plus. Although the Boom 2Plus definitely has more bass, the overall sound quality is suffering. The mids and upper end of the MB Plus sound cleaner to my ears

Why do you do such an unreliable test? If in sony and boom 2 you enabled the bass option, why is it a stock setting in jbl and not jbl signature? Because of this, the test is completely pointless, either do it in such a way that everyone has a boost to the bass or everyone should be on flat settings

Sorry but this is a joke.. ALL speakers need to be the same. You had bass up on the boom2plus and complaining why it didn't sound good higher up. all needs to have the same eq...bass in or off....
Need to tune soundcore boom2 plus becuse bass up is not my type tune ,i do have soundcore motion plus for example bass up also not good too punchy that’s y i tuned my self in custom mode now it far better thn stock. I can guarantee that motion boom2 plus can easily out perform jbl boombox or can be same to sony after well tuning in custom equipment🤝 just try it sound will make so differences with stock eq mode

I got bb3 and boom 2 plus. Sony always crap. For me the boom 2 with eq sounds best. But u need to hear it live. Boom 2 got a warm bass the tweeter on the bb3 are to harsh for me. But its always a Personal choice.
It sounds easy better than these others too me but it's just my sound preference

Why does the soundcore sound muffled? That Sony is impressive but the price is twice
If you listen closely at 6:27 - 9:40, Soundcore Boom 2 has a slight intermodulation in low frequencies. And in my opinion, I prefer the ULT Field 7 as it has a warmer sound which I am more into. Still a very nice speaker for the price!

i love the sony but i have the extreme 3 so i have to go with bb3🥲 the only problem I'm afraid that the feet of the bb3 will come off easily like on the extreme 3 that I've had for 2 years
It's probably best to just wait out till BB4 and then make your decision. It should come out relatively soon.

It’s only my opinion so take it as you want, but I actually prefer how Boombox 2 sounds over Boombox 3, more neutrally tuned and less agressive. It does also have a good rubber feet too, and still works with Partyboost

I did test both in store one year ago when both were easy to find, and choosed Boombox 2, man it sounds so good, especially indoors
