It is the correct method of Ball Bearing removal. Outer race should not be gripped for the removal. otherwise balls would be damaged.

Many thanks for contacting us, I’m glad you like the Bearing Puller BP 61. Unfortunately, the simatool BP 61 is not working to dismount a NMB262s, since the shaft diameter is 6mm. The bearing extractor enables the removal of deep groove ball bearings. The tool is for shaft diameters measuring from 10-100 mm.

Will this puller remove any brand of ball bearing? Metric or Imperial?
The tools are designed to remove a range of Metric deep groove ball
bearings and their designations are listed in the relevant datasheets. However,
bearing size definitions only specify OD, ID and thickness; the groove
dimensions and the number and size of balls can and does vary between brands.
The tools have various sets of spring-loaded arms that conform to the actual
groove dimensions and (like an adjustable spanner) don’t care whether these are
defined in Metric or Imperial units. We cannot, however, claim absolute 100 %
compatibility with any possible bearing as some combinations of groove depth
and ball spacing would fall between the dimensions of one set of arms and the
next.
Can pull the sealed bearing?
Before you pull out the bearing, you have to remove the seal. Let's do that with our special tool the simatool Seal Puller SP50. Have a look to the following movie: czcams.com/video/TYkZlKYSz4Q/video.html

Just did a Christmas shutdown and this puller sure would have taken hours of the job. I had to literally pick apart the bearing just so I could pull off the inner race.

В детсве что то похожее изготавливали для снятия подшипника с колечатого вала мопеда. на двух болтах стачивали шляпки с двух противоположных сторон, в толстой пластине три отверстия с резьбой, крайние под обточенные болты, среднее под винт, обточенные шляпки вставляешь между обоймами подшипника, поворачиваеш на 90° и вуаля, съемник в действии. Может кому поможет.

Not really; most shafts are more than hard enough to withstand this pressure. The threaded spindle ends in a ball, not a point. If there is any concern at all, then the kit also contains a sliding hammer which allows the bearing to be removed with no force on the shaft.

If you can remove all your bearings with a simple puller then we agree, buying our kit makes no sense. BUT if you have worn out bearings mounted e.g. on the output shaft of a gearbox that needs to be dismounted and disassembled so that it can be pushed out from behind, think how much time and money could be saved if you could simply remove it without this extra work. How many times would you have to do this before our kit has paid for itself?

Руслан, опыт работы с заводами показывает, что штучное производство дороже и не учитывает всех необходимых параметров для получения желаемого результата. Тем не менее, если решитесь на кустарное производство, покажите что получилось, будет интересно посмотреть. Ждем Вашего видеоотчета.
@@simatecproalterbelement1774 Я не делаю видео отчёты. А опыт мне показывает, что есть такие мастера на заводах, что ваша цена за облачная! Качество не будет хуже вашего. От производителя всегда дешевле. Я не думаю что ваши производители пользуются внеземными технологиями а цены у вас космические. Может в Москве это копейки но страна не ограничивается только столицей. Себестоимость данного инструмента максимум 50 баксов а где-то в глубинке за такие деньги вам сделают и два и три таких комплекта. На эту тему можно много говорить и каждый будет защищать своё болото.

As a bearing engineer (among other specialties), my concern is that this puller tool is contacting the bearing raceway with the potential to damage the bearing. The examples shown don't appear to have much interference fit in the inner, so they are getting away with it. If your bearing has a substantial interference fit on the inner, then this tool will likely ruin your bearing.

What sort of bearing engineer would recommend reusing a used bearing?
@@dunloplego actually, used bearings which have been properly inspected, cleaned and returned to service have a higher life expectancy than new ones. Statistics bear this out. You see, the infant mortality failures are eliminated from the population. What kind of bearing engineer am I? One who has designed mainshaft bearings for gas turbine aircraft engines with shaft speeds as high as 51,000 rpm, that's all.
Ronald Schoolcraft I didn’t at all ask what sort of bearing engineer you were and no, I wasn’t asking for your resume. I will repeat my question: what sort of bearing engineer would recommend reusing a used bearing?
Your types deal with the data to back up your claims but as a lowly mechanical fitter we are able to see touch hear and smell before during and after failure of the bearing.
So I’m asking you that as all bearing are once upon a time brand new and become used, so how on earth do you make the claim that a used bearing (which was once new) have a higher life expectancy than a new one? This is an amazing thing to say. I think you may have out smarted yourself perhaps?

@@dunloplego well, since I am also a highly skilled and experienced mechanic who has mounted, inspected and used bearings (as well as designed and engineered them), I know for a fact supported by statistical analysis that used bearings which have been cleaned, inspected and returned to service have a higher L10 life than brand new ones. Just because you don't understand statistics does not change the truth.
Infant mortality in mechanical components means early failure due to some unknown defect that wasn't caught by the inspection process. For example, an inclusion in the material that did not get caught by radiographic or ultrasonic inspection causes a crack initiation site which leads to a fatigue failure of one of the rings or rolling elements after a short (relatively) period of usage. This is considered an infant mortality in that the bearing did not achieve its design life. No matter how good the manufacturing and Inspection processes are, some early failures will always be present. These must be included in the population and considered when calculating L10 fatigue life using statistics theory. This brings the mean L10 life down.
Bearings that have been in service for a period of time clearly don't have any of the defects present to cause early failure (infant mortality). Therefore, the population of used bearings which have been cleaned, inspected, found acceptable and returned to service don't have infant mortality failures included in the population. Therefore, they have a higher mean L10 life than new ones.
This is born out by mathematics and my direct, hands on experience. It's a fact.
Since you apparently don't know much about bearings, I would not recommend that you do inspections on bearings and I would not trust your findings if you did. So go ahead and use this tool to remove your bearings all you want.
