- Assassins Creed Black Flag was the 4th installment in the Assassins Creed franchise. The change to a pirate setting was such a hit that Ubisoft decided to create another similar pirate game and after 10 years, several delays, and several redesigns we finally get... Skull and Boners.

When the majority of people wanted Black Flag without the assassin's, with some co-op but we get a shit sandwich instead.

Completely agree. Just playing Black Flag for this video got us hooked back into playing it. Quite possibly the best Assassins Creed game.

It does, and it is an interesting setting which is nice but I don’t think most general public know about Asian pirates. They probably think the only pirates are the typical pirates of the Caribbean. The setting is probably one of the few positives about Skull & Bones.

Diving underwater is meh of a pro, i mean for most people it's good but like i have a lot of issue finish the game at 100% cause of thalassophobia so it'd be good if it wasn't there
We’re not big fans of underwater sections of games either. We figured people might see it as a pro so we tossed it in there anyways. I don’t think I dived once when I played Black Flag. The raiding and pillaging was all above water, and that’s where the fun was.

Big variety of mechanics is vital for such games. If you don't like some, it doesn't mean no one should play them. Even if some mechanics are shitty, you'd better try to fix them instead removing completely.
Skull and bones and ac 4 is different games but still it feels skull and bones is Highly Downgraded AC 4 I Miss Old Ubisoft (
It really does. There probably wouldn’t be a Skull & Bones without Black Flag and you would think S&B would innovate on top of Black Flag but it’s like 3 steps backwards, it ridiculous.

compare an open world third person action game with a ship combat game....good work. is your next video gonna be how Pokémon is superior to pac man? everyone expected way more than they ever said this was gonna be from this game. it was always going to be a SHIP COMBAT game. i hope none of you play world of tanks or ships and enjoy it because this is that with a pirate skin and actual progression.
Bro, you need to do your research before you say something stupid again like this comment. You’re embarrassing yourself. Skull & Bones was originally planned to be an expansion to Black Flag, and then it turned into a spin-off title. And eventually it became it’s own independent title. It was always going to be based on everything Black Flag had because it was so popular, Because Ubisoft is so incompetent they couldn’t create a multiplayer version of Black Flag and settled for this crappy title that apparently you think is really cool. Telling you man, read every now and again before you make an embarrassing comment.

All you have to do Ubisoft is look at AC black flag that’s all you have to do take features from it and you have a game heck even take features from sew of thieves like the exploring melee ect ect like I know sea of thieves is a completely different game to AC black flag but at least there better pirate games then skull and bones and I know it’s a different team that’s making skull and bones but this came from AC black flag there’s navel in that plus all the other features why why just take the navel from AC black flag and not the other features it doesn’t make since I understand they forget everything that think you know about a traditional pirate games but why though because people want sea of thieves merged with assassins Creed Black flag put into skull and bones well that’s at least what I want anyway and don’t give me that it’s to late to add those features in now because yeah it probably is but they can add it in after launch hopefully and sure they’ll probably have to rework the entire game but it’ll be better then what they have now
Yes, thank you for the rant. The more we bring it up, the more Ubisoft can get their shit together. Skull & Bones seemed like the perfect plans. Black Flag but multiplayer, but after 10 years they give us trash. Maybe it’ll be fun after the update it, but who knows.
What if Ubisoft was planning a Black Flag remaster...only they didnt announce it, and knew this Skull and Bones bullshit would piss everyone off. So...they choose to ride the wave of desire and frustration until the reveal the Black Flag remaster and thus, reaping huge sales numbers from the disgruntled Skull and Bones crowd lol
Let’s hope a Black Flag remaster is on the way! We wouldn’t mind if Ubisoft just delayed Skull & Bones for another 10 years so they can put in actual ship boarding and an actual open world you can explore by foot.
1000% This is what happens when you give a beloved dev title to a bunch of muppets. They screwed the pooch so hard on this one. The engine has gone backwards 😢 I hope Ubisoft goes out of business along with EA.
We’ve all been anticipating this game, dreaming about how this game can one up Black Flag. For 10 years! And it ends up being 4 steps backwards!
@@supergaighbros4894 I really feel like waiting for a month after launch and buying this game for $10 from a bargain bin then filming myself microwaving the Disc posting it online and tagging these Ubisoft Ar$eClowns in. The hate flows through me right now. It was the best game in the entire franchisee and they took a hatchet to a masterpiece and somehow managed to fortnite it and make it clownish . Clearly no upper management has ever played Black Flag with an IGN: 8.5 rating (100 Million to make) The reduction in scope and technically lazy not being able to walk around is something nobody would ever want. Tell me you outsourced development without saying it.

Developers are not guilty. It was Ubisoft HQ themselves who coudn't finalize game direction
@@lastbeer Not true, they tried and they failed, they also took the asian gov money and setup a studio in singapore so they have to develop it or they loose the grant money. Don’t believe me go look it up. At this point it’s beyond saving they will turn off the live servers the second they can and the game will be a coaster due to no single player. The playable alpha looked amazing with a cool wind map, ship battles and non gay canon fire. That version combined with the 10 year ago launch trailer would have been epic. We need to stop buying games from Ubiflacid let them fail and wait for a better equiped studio to buy the IP and deliver the pirate game we want. We also need Wokies to go extinct like the Goths did. It will happen but until those locusts go we have only dust and husks instead of game development studios. Go play Hard Space Ship Breaker set in the Homeworld Universe and Black Flag, just bought the story expansion those games blow my mind.

The reason we chose Black Flag is because Skull & Bones was originally going to be an expansion to Black flag. And then it became a multiplayer spinoff title for AC. And now it’s become its own IP but Black Flag’s DNA has been in it from the start. And Odyssey was an awesome game. We had so much fun with that one.

Take a look at Sea of Thieves for example. It is also a PvP PvE Pirate Openworld game. Where you can do much more then Skull & Bones and as much if not more then Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag.
Ubisoft has become lazy and greedy and isn't listening to the community.
It’s definitely different, but there are games out there that already prove some of these gameplay mechanics are possible, like the previous poster mentioned. Sea of Thieves. If they could make Sea of Thieves with the graphics and grittiness of Skull and Bones then it would definitely be a hit.
