CZcams is the ultimate equalizer - I'm a poor white boy living in post industrial midwest USA and I'm getting a master class at Oxford and learning from one of the greatest singers.

Never saw a masterclass with Andreas Scholl and I was so impressed by his kindness and encouraging nature. I find his advice so good and valuable as I sing a lot of Bach myself. I'll follow his advice for sure. especially on Erbame Dich which is on my learning list! May I suggest that the singers' voice type be indicated? That would be useful.

I am impressed by the teaching method, how Andreas Scholl is able to install the power of the feeling into this most dramatic plea for mercy by Bach that I know. Tears well instantly when this is achieved. Wonderful insight to the process of bringing together technique and meaning and feeling.

Grande Maestro!

I have seen Andreas sing from first row... and it was wonderfull! To see when he his taking breath... when he takes a thankfull look to the dirigent, and to I violin or someone else... It was just wonderfull!! And result is pure! Pure heaven! Thank you for this video! Thank you Andreas!
... and i will start collecting money to get my own clavecin. I just love it too much, and we need one more in Tartu... to use for me, but for others as well. Mine studies stopped because we had them only two for city of Tartu, in Estonia.

It's cool that I actually used to sing nearly all of the pieces presented by the students in this masterclass (except the very last one), so I was able to sing along without even having to check the notes. :) Great music choice and great teaching by Andreas!

Interesting to notice, Andreas Scholl got the same Chaldean Numerology Number than the Phantom of the Opera, namely Erik Destler. Andreas' number is 45 but it comes down to 27 while Erik's is 36, which also comes down also to 27. I am not thinking nor even less suggesting that Andreas is Erik reincarnated but I am looking for Erik and this is one of my first steps. It's a journey for me to find him if I can. Erik must be one of the best countertenors because he was.
Why not say what is the significance of number 27 while I am at it? ''TWENTY - SEVEN. The command. Twenty seven is a promise of authority and command. It indicates reward will come from productive intellect. This number is creatively influential and needs to steer their own ship.'' (this is not my quote, it's from a numerology website that I love)
I will mention that Andreas is a very good teacher, very empathic and kind that others also noticed. Wow
