nobody beats the calendar, age, injuries, so many years of extremely hard training.....but he tried to the very end, like a true champion he is.
He already suffered a major elbow injury in his teens. Apparently he was already lifting Lu XiaoJun numbers as a teen prior to the injury. As great as he became he would've been in the GOAT conversation had he not suffered those injuries.
Bernard you are right about how great he was as a teenager. 2011 he did 161-205 as a 77 youth ina China Games comp. Yeah Yeah I know abou National comps still remarkable performance.
Grizzled old veteran fought to the bitter end
Para ya vas!!! Güey!!! al menos este logro viajar y andar de OGT pegándole a la mamada! Algo que no creo tú vayas a lograr
No excuses. Why so many excuses?
Tears welling up boys. Salute to one of the best cleans of our time
Remember 2018 cleaning 236 head to head with Moradi.
yeah damnn just suddenly felt this overwhelming sadness.. 😢😢😓😭🙏
@@JohnDoherty-dl2fz That 236 clean was filthy
I think that 226 2nd attempt was the first clean he's missed in his entire life since leaving the womb. That was a sign.
236 was an absolute phenom moment for TT. He will be remembered
Im an adult man from from the U.S and I’m tearing up over my favorite Chinese lifter not making it to the Olympics. This sport is wild. Much love and respect to Tian Tao, it’s been an absolute pleasure following you.
Same bro
Soon to be 32 year old man from Australia that did the same. Stayed up all night and heart was racing when he was on the platform. Wish he had of taken smaller snatch jumps after the 171 to increase his chances of making them to reduce the c an j needed to total above li🥲
he should have gone to the last Olympics in 2020; dude was top ranking 96kg lifter, but China chose to be safe and didn't send him
Freaking hell, all my heroes are retired one after another. A whole new generation of lifters and countries have stepped forward. Tian Tao will always be a legend for me.
Will always have much love for 'Heart Attack' Tao!!
By far the most exciting Chinese lifter, never knew what would happen!
he did not get the medals & titles to reflect his greatness and was one of the ones impacted harshly by the frequent weight class changes lately...but he will be remembered for sure!:)
I think his ideal weight class was the 85, same with Rostami.
He's been a champion, he's set records, he's beat his body up for years...he has nothing left to prove. Best of luck in your retirement!
Lottsa fish waitin.
@@JohnDoherty-dl2fz Yep, China's always bringing along someone new.
This is literally the first time in my life (perhaps in his life as well) seeing tian couldn’t even clean it!
I'm pretty sure he's failed a clean at least once in his whole life.
The only time I ever recall him missing on clean was at a National comp when he just moved up to 85
yeah damnn the 2nd attempt didn't look too hard tho..
I became a follower of this sport because of him
No matter what, he will always be the world's strongest Fisherman
One of my favorite lifters of all time. Enjoy retirement champ.
One last heart attack before taking a bow, Tian will be missed
For anyone who hasn’t seen his 222 kg from a year ago, and his 231 kg as a 96, I heavily implore you to go watch both of those.
And 220 as an 85!
And 221 as an 85kg!
And 225 at 85...
And his 236 clean
End of an era, shi will be done soon too. That’s crazy 🫡
Hoping they send shi instead of li dayin
If Shi got a bit more shape back, I think he has a better fighting chance against Rizki than Li against Carlos.
@@JonathonBao Shi at 100%.. i think will definitely beat Rizki... they should definitely send Shi if he doesn't have any setbacks.. don't think Dayin can beat Karlos.. they can snatch some massive weights but Dayins CnJ is well behind Karlos..
@@IamLEGENDkb24 Honestly I don't even know if Li Dayin can beat Yelson Lopez as well... Li is a bit inconsistent recently. He hasn't been consistent since the 2023 Asian Champs
no...im not crying....
A true legend. The weightlifting community will forever remember his heroic strength and determination.
To me, one of the greatest Weightlifters of all time. Thank you Tian! 💪
I had no way of knowing a year and a half ago how incredible weightlifting would be. Or how important it would become to me. I look forward to watching even more competitions. The commentary from Max and Seb is invaluable. The people in the live chat are interesting and at times hilarious. And the audience at this competition have been expressive. When they booed a decision made by an official earlier I have never been so proud of a group of people I've never met in my life.
What was it with the booing?
@@yetanotherRjven The judges made an atrocious call, so the audience booed them
Some kind of press out nonsense
What a great session. We are lucky that Team China as well as Squat Jerk and others brought us Tian, Shi, Lu and many other legendary Chinese weightlifters to the World. We got to know them, see them train and lift and see their favorite hobbies and their personality. They have fans all around the world and brought weightlifting to more people than ever. I will miss Tian but I hope he continues to be a present in the weighlifting community.
reminder that tian tao missed 63% of his jerks at international competitions. that damn power jerk man.
Man I am a little teary eyed since my favourite fisherman is retiring! I hope he surprises us like coming back from his last retirement. Man after all is a beast and a fighter!
One of the greatest cleans the sport has ever seen. Enjoy retirement Tian! ❤️
Weightlifting will never feel the same with Tian Tao gone.
Easily one of the most memorable names in weightlifting!
Thanks Tian it was a pleasure watching you
What a weightlifter, what a career! Filled with soo many great moments, hope he can enjoy his retirement 👏
He gave it his everything and that's all anyone can ask for..
In the next verse champ. See you there ❤
Congratulations to Tian Tao on a fabulous career. The sport will miss him greatly.
First time in my life that I hoped a CZcams title was clickbait. The most exciting athlete to watch in lifting sports.
One of the best, thanks for the memories!
pain in the eyes, his, and his coach...
What a great run, fantastic work Tian Tao!
Cheers my man!! You are awesome
Legend! His name will forever be a part of the heights of weightlifting!
Went out fighting like a true legend. Warrior mentality. His last memory is of him attempting to make the impossible, possible.
He will be missed 🥲
I am one of the people that got interested in the sport because of him. I wish I could have accompanied his carrer longer, but still was a good run.
Bravo Tian! We miss 100% of the shots we don't take. I love he hit the clean with everything he had.
And he still cleaned it... Proud he attempt a come back for Paris 24
Sad to see him go, one of the most exciting lifters to watch.
I hope we can keep following Tian the fisherman for the years ahead..
respect to Tian Tao for his journey , he challenged himself in diff facets of his life and gave his all.
An immensely gifted athlete marked by his prowess in multiple weight classes
Cheers for future
Well done champ. Best wishes moving forward into your next chapter
crazy to do this coming back from shoulder surgery just a few months ago.
It's his birthday today, the lucky 8th! 30 years old, still a young man, but retiring from a harsh game he shone so brightly in.
We'll miss him😢😢 true champ❤❤
田濤,YYDS
謝謝你帶來一場場精彩的比賽
it been a very exciting dramatic competition no one can deny that
He is a legend respect champ 🙌
Surely will miss him❤😢
CHAMPION🏆🏅🥇
Much respect...
Wow I will miss him!
I think it’s fair to say we are in amongst a changing of the guard, so many great OGs retiring and new talent coming through in there place
WH please release a Tian Tao shirt, I will wear it proudly
Greatest cleaner in this generation of weightlifting. Sad his jerk isn’t better.
No one at this weight has made a 226 clean look this easy
You gotta leave your shoes on the platform. That’s signature weightlifting retirement protocol.
He’ll do it at Chinese nationals
That kiss breaks my heart 💔💔💔😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Thank you Tian for the inspiration to squat like a boss
Спасибо!
Goosebumps…..😢
You can see it man😔 brothas just tired up there. Missing just that extra bit of umph… truly amazing lifter
My goat man😭🐐🥹I’m sad af💔
This guy was competing internationally back in 2011, what longevity.
Your request to retire is denied!
Wait four more years. The fish ain’t goin anywhere.
My heart
Ita cry
😢
se retira una leyenda, ahora a apoyar a Yeison en los olímpicos 🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴
im shocked I had no idea.... my favorite lifter....
Only tears....
He tried , true champion! Good luck
Nah , he's not that influencer just another weight lifter that's all. All the best LI DAYAN.
Great, BEST Tian Tao!
This is one of the saddest moments in weightlifting history.
No!!!! Don’t retire!!
Dang this is bitter sweet. I was rooting hard for Tian. He can still clean more than all of his teammates, he doesn't need to retire, maybe he can take time off, recover, relaxd, comeback as a 81 and dominate that class.
I think he's 28 29 years old.
It's his last chance. Not may get to the Olympics in their ,30s.
He deserves a break shoulder surgery last November. I wish him a good life.
Carlos the great! ;) The one and only!
同志,辛苦了
The goat
My favourite fisherman is retiring, but I’m glad he can finally take a break from all the injuries now and let Li Dayin take on the torch
Thanks for all the heart attacks. Now for the heart break
❤❤❤
I think it's going to be Li Fabin, Shi Zhiyong and Liu Huanhua (Gigachad) fron Team China for the Olympics
What an athlete, salute to the greatest Heart Attack of all time!
This year will be the end of an era of the most memable chinese lifters. I will miss them all severely. Lu popped, shi injured and aging, Tian retiring peacefully. This mustve how people felt losing Liao hui, huh. Now we only have Li dayin and Liu Huanhua to maybe give china a glimpse at another gold metal after 2024 paris
😭😭😭😭❤
Just yesterday I was thinking to my self "I haven't seen Tian missing a clean".. Dayym
If he made this 226kg lift what a fairytale ending to his career that would’ve been
Going for the wr and then retires same day what a shame
Now he can pursue his true passion in life : fishing
It is not definite yet. Even in his translated post he did not outright say that he is done. If he truly does we will miss him. He deserves so much more.
he pretty much did say he's done. His post said he's finished with international comps but going to the Chinese nationals in 2025. It's typical of top-level Chinese weightlifters to formally retire at their nationals. But he also did the same thing in 2021 and then unannounced his retirement at nationals instead. So one can hope...
Would have been great to get one last heart attack from this legend. Regardless it was great to have witnessed his journey 😔
😢😢😢
I hope this isn't the end of his career in weightlifting
😢😢😢😢
end of an era
hale to the Bulgarian king
lots of fishing ahead for him
now onto fishing world records
Wiiiiiild
I’m so confused. Wasn’t he beating the breaks on Li Dayin?
