    • @CoffeeFiend1
      @CoffeeFiend1 Před 3 lety +37

      Personally there was 3 main things about that guy that really irritated me:-
      1.) He got the long arm ready, all fine, sensible step, good trigger discipline, but how many times did he get that buttstock in the way of the driver when he's trying to make strong, fast full body wide turns with that wheel to try and keep them on the road and safe? That annoyed me. Get it ready dude but keep it the fuck out of the drivers way.
      2.) Not really sure why he wasn't on the phone/radio immediately. They had no reasonable way of knowing how the situation would progress, they were in a high speed chase, taking fire and likely also had civilians around them. Start getting some contingencies worked out.
      3.) I never once saw him looking behind him or re-orientating his perspective to get a better view in the mirrors. He's fucking static, he could be feeding his driver additional information, the driver is going to be in sensory overload, very tunnel visioned, working though shit as it comes, potentially missing other stuff, he has a static person next to him that could be providing for info.

    As a former US Army Paratrooper and Military Police Officer, i have had my share of high risk assignments in the field and in garrison. Everything from escorting the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to taking bank employees around base the day before payday to fill ATM machines. Never an incident, but always ready to react based on the situation. I stand in awe of the level of professionalism, intelligence, and situational awareness Mr Prinsloo demonstrated both in combat and then in after action review. I would have been honored to have a supervisor and coworker of 1/2 his level of ability and would have without hesitation taken orders from the likes of him. I wish i could shake his hand and commend him for the level of importance he places on continuing education and training. That certificate is pretty but it’s not going to tell you how to fight off an attack. You can’t teach what this man has, you can only learn it from experience and mental preparation. I used to think escort duty was an easy assignment until i did it. This professional makes it look like a drive for ice cream when in fact it is something that I could not have done on my best day in the Army without a full serving of luck and an armored car at a minimum. My hats off to both Leo and Lloyd. Loyd has a great mentor to learn from. I would be happy to have a partner that competent for sure. Stay safe gentleman and THANK YOU for stressing the TRUE importance of good and real training!

I spun him sideways, and he ended up on the concrete sidewalk. Our truck also got stuck on the concrete barriers. The driver of the car jumped out and ran, which is when I jumped out with my rifle. I made the decision that he wasn’t a shootable target in that public place. He ran across the street and got away, to my great frustration. The two criminal vehicles involved had offloaded their six passengers on the highway, AK-47s in hand, grabbing lifts and escaping. Once the Audi driver had fled, the next thing that I wanted to do was to get back there and chase them down. I wasn’t able to, which burnt me up.
