Turhan studied everything Kosem told her and made sure not to repeat her master’s mistakes , getting rid of Osman and his mother was the logical way to go if only Kosem had done the same with Gulbahar and her son instead of wasting time

Sad thing about Kosem. She tried her best with mercy and compassion for a time. She lost her way as she lost her children. Til she became what she hated. When she decided to kill her own grandchildren she lost. Herself and her power. In a desperate bid to keep it as it was all she had left by than.
Honestly I think by the time Ibrahim was executed she'd just dedicated herself to the one thing she believed she'd never failed at protecting the imper and its people.

Her only mistake was not having Turhan executed.

Even if i was to 100% to the side of Lalezar when she save Mehmed, I was disagree when she said that Turhan will never put in danger a sehzade innocent there is the proof. In fact it seems that the decision to spare Suleiman and Ahmed was more calculating that real concern ( at least in the show in history I see it was more spontaneous although there was surely more calculation for me and ease because in this point of view Mehmed did everything his mother told him, it's a miracle and a feat that Kosem managed to do survive the dynasty with sons like Murad who absolutely wanted to restore the fratricide and Ibrahim who... Well do I need to say more? In addition, locking Ahmed and Suleiman in the kafes was a bad decision for their minds and it reduced their ability to lead drastically, even if there was a context).
Valide sultanas are immune, their position is sacred you can't take their life. That's how she survived and we don't know what really happened to her. Her ending is just rumors just like blaming Mustafa on hurrem sultan. I have a strong feeling nobody took her life
Exactly. She was able to put up this facade of mercy and benevolence while Kösem bore the brunt of the blame.
@@hurremsultannss Turhan wanted to be Kosem 2.0 and feld It's miserably. Because of her inexperience and the inexperience of her son's council she had to give up all of her power. She essentially ended the Sultanate of Women.

@@hurremsultannss @CrimsonAngel Wiges when I am agree with you thats is was not good Turhan vs bad Kosem and that Turhan was very good in propaganda I am disagree wuth you when you said she ended the Sultanate of Women ( the last Sultana was Gulnus in Sultanate of Women). Turhan was a very good ruler she make a lot of feats ( as she finally managed to success the war against to the Venitians who was very hard to do even for a capable Sultan) and surpassed a lot of Sultan like Suleiman. She let behind her a powerful Ottoman Empire and she managed to finally discpline jannisary who were danger ( at leats for a time). In fact even when she give power to Korpulu she wasn't apolitical at all, she managed a lot of patronizing she watched out the work of Koprulu, she had her final word ( I think it was a good strategy for her to "transfer" all her power to Korprolu because in this time there was a lot of mysgony against Kosem even if she was praised as a regent and had good reason to have the power , so Turhan give the apparence that she give her power to Koprulu). But she was not so merciful as she didn't protect the right of the jews in Ottoman Empire and she make a mistake unlike Kosem who "managed" well the succession ( as she had first a son as Sultan capable even if he was controversy as Murad IV and that she choose Turhan first who a good ruler to be the mother of the heir even if we know what would happen between them ) Turhan didn't manage well the sucession of her death (Mehmed was more intersted in hunting that ruling and do his duty and was not a good ruler and it seems that Gulnus was not a beast poltical unlike Kosem and Turhan as one of her son was deposed too). When she die Mehmed became more and more impopular ( like Murad when Nurbanu die) and was deposed and all her hard work became useless in some way as the Ottoman Empire started again to decline.
