"Matt will pick it up and see which one is the hottest" had me rolling! Lol! Why does he always do that!?!? So true
Both the ladies should be declared winners for their willingness to do this on camera.
Having friends like this should be life goals. These are true down to earth people that would lend a hand on anything at the drop of the hat. In today's world that is extremely hard to find. I'd love to just come and hang out in the shop just to be around people like this. Thanks so much for the videos. It kinda restores my faith in humanity.
This is why we alway see Papa Dar over in the chair :)
You said a mouthful & 'nailed it' too!
It actually isn't that hard to find outside the urban centers at all. It's actually kind of the norm.
B
I lost is when she asked.... “how do you stack dimes” 😂😂 so serious
When it sounds like bacon you’re doing just fine....when it smells like bacon, buddy you’re on fire!!!! Lmao
Beat me to it!
Yup... Learned early on to NOT tuck in my shirts 🤣
Yeah, bin' there too.
Burning skin and hair smell nothing like bacon I love the smell of bacon hair and skin haunt me
Oh crap ! I was watching cracking up laughing my wife comes over and starts watching with me .... Then smacks me says why haven't you taught me ! Now we are headed out to my shop for welding 101 ..... Talk about a memory moment !! Thanks guys !!!
After watching this video I finally decided to buy a welder and just start practicing. I jumped on Craigslist found a welder with a cart and a bottle for 170 bucks drove the hour and a half to get it picked up some gloves and a bib and a helmet at harbor freight on the way home and started welding. Thank you very much for this, you guys have got me off the fence.
My favorite line was when he just said "I agree" 😂 when she said its weird how when I pull the trigger everything goes dark
I want to see Paul learning to cut hair! 😂
Please make this happen. Hahaha
@@jeremiahjackson8018 That would be far more dangerous and a possible personal injury suit, lol.
B has my vote
Crew cuts for everybody.......with an angle grinder.
I think Paul should cut Matt’s hair!👴
It's obvious, both ladies are winners and you guys need to take them to the nicest restaurant around for being awesome.
They should cook for them paying for a meal takes no skill
Kudos to these ladies for even trying to weld, my wife is deathly afraid of the sparks and won't come near my welding table. Great video!
🤣Paul's face when Michelle says "that looks pretty good" says it all. Y'all are awesome together, and this is great entertainment.
The guys are the winners because they have such awesome and talented wives.
**AMEN**
yea and their both pretty hot too
Both ladies are now welders. Practice makes perfect 👍🇺🇸..
Pretty sure the audience is the real winner one this one!
You should put up Michelle's welded heart for auction and donate to a favorite charity.
Paul's face every time she says "it's not that bad" too funny!!
I've worked on several big oil related projects with as many as 600 welders on site, there were several women who did the welding on aluminum , stainless steel and titanium. They were selected not only because they were excellent welders but because of the neatness of their welds. Good job and kudos to both ladies for their first time picking up a stinger.
Women instinctively pay more attention to detail. Once they learn a skilled trade, they tend to excel at it.
@@dustinmeier9753 I agree, I had one seasoned welder foreman explain it to me pretty much as you did, he knew good work when he seen it. I've once observed a woman tig weld a 14'' stainless flange while it was on a rotisserie. The pipe and flange was turing ever so slowly, you couldn't tell where the weld started or stopped, it was flawless. a perfect roll of dimes.
Attention to detail...and patience. But my wife would rather fly through something like a bead saying it'll be fine...are we finished
Both A&B looked pretty good for 2 ladies that just started. I think the men should buy the dinner.
I cannot tell which is better between A & B . . . At first I thought maybe A was a fatter weld but then I realized the camera was closer to it so I think they both look good. Let the girls split the dinner cost to pay the boys for the welding lesson. :o)
They did better than I did when I was young after a month of trying but I had a crappy stick welder with a slide amp control that would not stay where I put it. It took me for ever to figure out I needed a new welder. Still using a stick welder but a name brand one.
I agree!
Who's bank account is it coming from? The men will pay
@@chuckstith838 Women have bank accounts and most couples have JOINT accounts but you already know this and some women have their own business. (cough cough) But it's only for fun so don't be a chauvinist by pretending that all that's hers is his without admitting that what's his is also hers.
I have to agree with Todd here. Both welds look god for some one who's never welded before.. I say im gonna vote C the men buy dinner for the ladies...
Just keeping the arc going is an achievement, pretty impressive really.
Michelle great job. Paul you did a great job teaching her great video..
And the viewers win by getting to watch and totally enjoy the episode of " Garage Date Night" .. Good job ladies !!
There is an old riddle. "Do you know who the best teacher for the wife is?" Answer: "anyone but the husband." :)
Everyone in that garage is a winner !!!!!
Matt and Paul are married to the gutsiest women on the planet.
The fact that they overcame their fears and jumped right in to follow direction and lay a bead as great as that FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER IS BRILLIANT !!!
HEY GUYS, YOU HAVE MARRIED UP
TAKE THE WHOLE FAMILIES OUT TO DINNER. MEN, YOU BUY
WOMEN YOU PICK THE SPOT
Take all the kids because their moms are the greatest
First thing my welding teacher told me was "to wear proper welding apparel", that is, Place jeans over and outside of boots (keeps the red-hot spatters out); Wear long-sleeve, heavy shirt with proper welding gauntlets (Leather suede is best); Wear properly-fitted welding helmet (the New, auto-darkening kind are awesome!); avoid welding near oil spills or other flammable OR non-flammable liquids). We learned with TIG, but MIG is great, also. When I was a kid, my dad used a home-made "buzz box" made with scrap steel plates wrapped with household wiring. It ran on 110 volts and was guaranteed to pop of few fuses during a weld job. Our house had only 110 and used screw-in fuses, no breakers.
Many...many years ago, my first factory job was as a spot welder...the machine did the work. Then I learned mig welding. BTW, I was taught by my future ex-husband. I only did that for a few years. I was welding rings on shock absorbers and clips on Volkswagen struts. That was 40 years ago. I think welding up and down is harder to learn. Some things I learned the hard way....like making sure my helmet was down before I touched off. A few days of scratchy sandy feeling eyes taught me pretty quick. The other lesson I learned the hard way was not to wear a tank top and cover as much skin as possible on your arms and shoulders. My husband kept trying to pull my welding sleeves over my shoulder. I kept telling him my shoulders felt fine...leave me alone...lol...should have listened. The next morning I woke up to purple blistered skin on my shoulders and even underarms. I couldn’t put my arms all the way down for a few days. Eventually, I moved from welding to milling/drilling and later NC milling. Finally, I moved into the tool crib when I was 52 years old. I stayed there until I retired this past February. When I left welding I also left the shock absorbers and spent 21 years making machine guns...big ones. Then I took over the tool crib and loved that. I worked with operators and engineers. It was a fun job...most of the time. Anyway, I want to vote for “B”...Jaymie? That bead looked right to left to me. Michelle did hers from left to right...and she stopped and started a couple of times. I also watched an episode last week where you were drilling on a drill press. You talked about using Fastenal drills. Our company bought lots of stuff from Fastenal, but not drills. For hand drill presses we used mostly HSS and HSS Cobalt. You can use carbide, but you have to have a good “touch” because it will want to chip. Obviously, it will depend on the type of steel and hardness. We worked a lot with 4140 and from 30 Rockwell to 60. For HSS we used to prefer Cleveland, Chicago Latrobe or Guhring. For Carbide, we used a lot of MA Ford, Walter Titex, and some Kennemetal. Kennemetal purchased Stellram a few years ago and still carries one of the best drills ever. It was called the Stellram Hardcore Drill. When we drilled holes into a 50 - 55 Rockwell MK19 bolt (about 20 pounds!) we were using standard carbide drills. These drills would only make it through 3 or 4 bolts and either break or burn the tip. We switched to the Hardcore drills and increased to 300 bolts! For average steel around 25 - 30 Rockwell, my favorites were HSS Cobalt by Cleveland or Chicago Latrobe. They are reasonably priced and easily resharpened. Some of the drills we worked with cost up to $700.00! Well, if you made it this far...I’m impressed...lol Hope I didn’t bore you too much. Edit! I mixed the names...old age? It was Michelle who went right to left and Jaymie who left to right...so, I still choose B, but Michelle? lol
I knew this was going to be good when Michele came in wearing skinny leg jeans and cowboy boots. And I still love the smiles from start to finish!
You need the cowboy flair jeans that go out side the boots. Been there done that, lol.
@@richarda996 for some reason around where I live anyway women's boot cut jeans are hard to find and I find that strange being in the middle of farm country and almost every county has at least 1 rodeo a year and almost every town has a western store and boot shop since I was a kid the same guy has been putting new soles on my boots and when the leather gets too thin or I hit them with a grinder or chainsaw I'll break down and buy a new pair the man turned 92 a couple months ago and says he has no plans to stop doing what he loves till the day he dies with his boots on and someone else's in his hands
Lizzie says, "Hold my beer!"
The comment about Michelle’s hair was perfect Paul!!!
**YOU CAN'T HELP BUT LOVE THESE PEOPLE = WHOLESOME, FUN & HAPPY AS LARKS PEEPS!!!**
**GOD BLESS MATT & JAMIE +++ PAUL & MICHELLE!!!**
A family that welds together "Sticks" together.
Sounds like a FabRat t-shirt slogan
@@davidwoermansr Best I could think of. But I know a rhyme about a welders daughter that's naughty.
@@dartmoordave if it's the same 1 I know they won't allow it here someone with soft skin driving a mall crawler mommy and daddy bought and still pay for everything even though they're in their 30s looking for a job their liberal arts degree will pay them big money for will report it
"That might not be pretty."..
... "it's not pretty"
🤣🤣
Your wife is a crack up!! She's a natural comedian on camera!
Tell ya what they both did a heck of a job for having never picked up a MIG gun before.
You two guys are pretty dang lucky. I've been married for 42 years and I have never been able to get the wife to try to weld. She is a heck of a shot tho...
... which is why you never contradict her, right. 😉😏😂
Sometimes it requires a challenge to motivate but then they find out it's a challenge and want to try more and practice. Make sure you're positive and love em for even trying
So what you're saying is that if you were to sneak off to a girlfriend's house, she wouldn't miss you!
"Matt will pick it up and see which one is the hottest" too funny
Those open-top boots reminded me of a story.
Years ago I worked at a manufacturing company that ran a foundry. The foundry was managed by a great guy with many years of experience in ductile and cast iron foundry works. One of the things he did was guide tours of customers and other visitors. As he took them through the operating foundry he would explain that he sand used was just normal sand, nothing special (while picking up a hand full, letting it sift through his fingers). He showed the molding process, then went to the pour floor where molten iron (which is a little thicker than milk) was being poured from the label into the molds. He would feign a concerned look and excuse himself, saying the metal temp looked “off”. He would then walk over to the stream of molten iron and swipe his index finger through it in a very visible, obvious manner. Obviously his guests would be slack-jawed with amazement. (Of course, they didn’t know that it was a bit of a trick, and he had done it many, many times.)
He always wore that same “Rancher” style boot, normally with pants over the boot shaft.
ONE DAY, however, without realizing it, his pant leg was tucked INTO a boot, making that nice funnel out of the boot shaft. That happened to be the day that, as he swiped his finger through the liquid fire, a bit about the size of a small grape gently flew through the air and went straight down that boot shaft. No hoop, all net. He couldn’t get out of that boot fast enough!
He spent the next several weeks with his foot in a cast, trying to get a severe third degree burn to the bone to heal. The company president suggested afterward that he should eliminate THAT part of his tours in the future, and he was happy to oblige.
The trick? When he was sifting that sand through his fingers he was drying every tiny bit of moisture from the skin covering the finger. Lacking moisture, according to him, meant that the molten iron would not “attach” to his skin and burn it all off. Sadly, his foot was apparently nicely moist, and the iron blob could not fall away which resulted in the injury.
I never felt confident enough in the trick to try it! 😳👆🏻🔥👨🏼🏭
Watching Paul wail on Michelle’s welded sample with that hammer reminded me of a comment from a good welder when I was learning arc welding. “Not much to look at, but bully for strong!”
Michelle's giggle is even better under the hood!
What a great job Michelle and Jaymie , a win win for the viewer's
I call it a TIE :-))
Mine has a 2 year degree in welding so she teaches me. I'm a professional industrial maintenance technician so I show her mechanics. Funny video guys, God bless
So here something I bet you never hear.
Mel Gibson !!!! Oh man, Lethal Weapon was awesome.
"How do you stack dimes?" Lol this episode has some good dialog
I think matt and paul are the big winners for having such great women in their lives. Two very lucky men.
Just wanted to say thank you for the laughs and good feelin yall put out...it reminds me of better a time in our garage when my family and friends were still around..thank you again and Matt's family as well...
This was fun to watch. We need more Paul tutorials with Michelle as the student. It is entertaining and educational.
That really was entertaining...I vote to have many more competitions like this between all of you guys.
This is great! Watching you two working together is so much fun, but you can see the patience... Great, great great.... we should all be so blessed to have such relationships.
Better than I've seen on some Wrangler frames.
I thank you for putting a smile on my face this morning. You folks make a awesome team.
Loved this episode! The girls did great.
Keep up the good work.
Oh, the days of learning to weld. What a wonderful time in a person's life.
Years of metal shop has trained me to instinctively close one eye or cover the arc with a finger, so I missed 3/4 of this video 😜 I vote B!
I mig weld with no helmet unless it's aluminum even with a helmet I end up with a sunburnt face I use to build rollback decks and aluminum decks for semi car haulers before I got certified for government work and built military deicers and moved on to be a heavy equipment operator doing what Paul does putting in phone line mainly fiber optic
I really wish there were more women like this! I think it’s awesome they even wanted to try it! Good job to the both of you😊
All 3 of my daughters weld rebuild engines go wheelin run late model modifieds on the dirt tracks and derby they're also learning to paint better than a derby paint job so when they're done building their daily driver trucks they can get rid of what they call the clown car paint job since we're building each truck out of the 1s I've got in the back 5 acre boneyard on my property and some salvageyard finds that were in better shape than what I had laying around they give their brothers a run for their money
I don't care who wins. Both of you are great. I love both your channels. Michelle cracks me up when she laughs, and Jamie is cute, and she can wheel with the best of em.
Having been married nearly 40 years, I'm going to vote a tie! Well done ladies!
This by far was the most entertaining and so much fun to watch!
"That was pretty good!" "That's amazing!"
My wife absolutely loves you guys. She asks me everyday if a new video has posted. She is not the least bit interested in trucks but she really likes you and ( Matt ) she even bought a sticker and said it was for me but it was her idea and somehow ended up on her computer.
Thanks Paul for the right angle to where you are traveling on the weld, That's a GREAT tip!
A and A
Awesome friendship between the 2 families.
Michelle : My feet will be on fire.
Paul : It's called a hot foot.
Love you guys.....
A&B look pretty close, the guys buy dinner!
Don't know how I missed that in my feed....eally needed the smile today....thanks 🧑🏭
Michelle and Jaymie win for putting up with the KNUCKLEHEADS!!!!
My wife was a school teacher for 33 years (11 to 16 year olds), she has never welded in her life but if I tried to teach her she would tell me I was doing it all wrong and after that it would most likely get pretty loud! Happily married for close to 40 years (July this year).... she does her thing and I do mine... and I never, NEVER contradict her... it's just safer not to. :-)
some of the best welders that ever walked the Earth are women that worked in the factories in world war II I was listening to an interview with one of them and they said it's just like needlepoint.
Congratulations on your 40th wedding anniversary.
My wife and I where married on the 3rd May 1980. 41 years, and still love each other just the same as we did on our wedding day. (I actually think we love each other more after going through so many life experiences together).
Happily married for 42 years...I stay out of her kitchen and she stays out of my shop. NUFF SAID...
That was awesome. I hope there are many more of these. BTW Michelle, this gives me a great idea for your next karaoke video. If you may remember, the girl in Flashdance was a welder. You could do "What a Feelin'", maybe a little dance routine with it with a welding mask or something. I think it's got potential.
Good to see Michelle's enthusiasm
So many “Thats what she said” in this video. Love it.
Yeaaa, you go girl. I taught myself stick welding in my twenties. B.
this was one of the best videos yet. also i love when these two channel worlds collide.
B on the ladies weld, A on the fellas. Awesome vid and you ALL win!
There were so many "that's what she said" , "that's what he said" jokes in that video. Love it guys
I remember those days of welding coupons in welding school. We started on oxy/acetylene welding.
Now we want to see the guys doing a cake baking contest. No mixes allowed. LOL
This is a great idea.
Also judge frosting and decorating.
Sounds fair to me
Shouldn't we first find out if that is a skill the ladies excel at? 😉
@@kjsgarden Ye of little faith.!!!!!!
I see Paul have the winch done and his bumper upgraded!!!! Looks great too
I declare a tie and there should be a "Weld Off". But both ladies are real troopers!!
As a welder, I am going to say pretty "even steven" Great job for first timers! I think Paul should buy dinner for starting these shenanigans in the first place! (and please....just go out for dinner for us, we aren't allowed!)
Man, you must be from Australia, like me.
A home cooked meal beats any restaurant I've ever been to
That was awesome. Nice to see Michelle up for trying stuff. Love the bits where she is trying to name tools or truck parts!! 😂
I'd like to see Jaymie teach Michelle how to wheel
Watch out Paul! She's going to take over! Michelle, way to go. I think it was about time. Hahahahahaha!
Both ladies are winners for trying. Matt and Paul should be buying dinner and a spa day for their amazing spouses!! Oh and dinner should be from a nice place NO GAS STATION FOOD!!! 😉
Gettin' smarter every day Michelle!
Good on ya!
Definitely B on the first and A on the second ;)
Love this channel! You guys are some good people, that do awesome work. Everyday when I get home I cant wait to see what you guys have uploaded! Thanks guys for all the great videos!

You are really really an unbelivable pleasure to watch all 4.... Really really enjoing the videos!!
Love this video she's doing what most women would not even try you should be proud of her
Slightly better than "What does Michelle know about cars / tools" Both ladies did a very nice job!!
Need to see stick welding next!

Another great video, I learned, I laughed and I was entertained, It does not get much better thanks.
Good job ladies!!!!! These people would help you out in a instant. Love both youtube channels.☺️☺️👍👍👍
B on the first, A on the second. Side note, the videos with FabRats and MORR, are the best. They're good on their own but together they're top notch
So Paul's busy for the next year, how about Michelle? :P
After watching both of your channels for a while now, I must say what impressed me most was that Matt didn't pick that up with his bare hand. (Even after Paul's comment that warned him.)
