Well, its been over a year since I last did a video on YT. Suppose it was just not much in the way of driving force to get me posting a vid up. Though with Asalieri's WhenevertheHell contest returning, I felt it was a suitable enough reason to make another video.
Decided to stick with doing a review, but decided to go for a unique twist. A stop motion review and decided to use one of the things I collect, being Transformers. This was actually thought about for a year in doing, since it was something I wanted to try out.
This review was pretty much inspired by Thew Adams who to me is the most interesting and enjoyable of the Transformer reviewers on YT due to his comical rock nature that makes it a joy. Though I do give the Lazy Eyebrow Reviewer some credit as he does stop motion reviews of Transformers (though I didn't really discover him until the early days since the contest started, but thought I'd at least credit him to prevent someone claiming I ripped his style off).
Wish I could have had a more enjoyable experience making this review, but instead it became more stressful than fun. Mainly due to things happening around the time of production, like my Grandad passing away, only able to do the stop motion work at night to keep consistant lighting, teething problems with certain programs and equipment as well as the review needing to be trimmed or scenes removed due to time length or special effects not working (like the Blue/Green screen) as well as the lighting issues with the Scrapper, Mixmaster and Scavenger scenes.
In the end, the review came out alright. Not exactly as I would have liked (due to time restrictions) as well as the blue/green screen effects being naff on Sony Vegas all of a sudden. Left wondering if I should even consider getting the upgrade for the laptop.
Would I ever do this type of review ever again?... Probably will, but definitely not for a contest with restrictions, especially if its going to be a multi pack review.
Still, hope you lot enjoyed it more than how I felt working on it. Think next time I'll go back to simple reviewing.

Amazing review, I doubt this will be seen where I live. I did LOL at the Minecraft joke. As for the overall size it's impressive and I thought Bruticus was huge. Best aspect to your review was the pace it moved at, never got hung up on a joint that can't transform like others..cough, cough. That 10 mins felt like 2. I need to go back to toy review school.

Well, Devastator is non-exsistent here too. Only Devastator I ever saw was at London MCM Comic Con being the 'San Diego Comic Con' Devastator that was going for £190 (I got mine from ebay at £150 with free shipping). He definately is big, but not the Biggest (being in 5th place offically).
Glad you liked the review. Thanks for the comment and looking forward to future TF reviews.

Now I see these Transformers it links to those knock-off diecast Transformers I have seen that are base construction vehicles. Now whats really weird is this review was nearly not on the subscription list. I highly suspect Google are playing major games with video notifications and subscriber listings even though they deny playing any games. If this excellent video flops, don't be surprised. Welcome to CZcams 2017.

I'm extremely impressed with this entry! Now I understand why you got this review in on the last day. I hope you do well in the contest.

Thanks for the comment. Doesn't feel like my best work, but then again, who knows what the judges may think.

Cor! That was brilliant. The Stop motion here is pretty top noth. I like how each constructocon comes in to knock the other one over and the way you described Longhaul is kinda like how Thomas is decribed XD. Great review there mate.

You already know what I think of it ofcourse =P
But just want to add, that even though I'm not a fan of Transformers ( don't hate them, don't worry ) I still enjoyed watching this video and easily to follow/learn what you were telling :)
Good luck with the contest, bro! :D

I've been waiting for your entry for a while now, though I definitely didn't expect a Transformers review. I liked how you're still doing animation, but it's a different kind of animation. Not sure if you are well versed in stop motion before doing this review, since early on there were fair few lighting inconsistencies during the stop motion, but as it went on, there were no such issues.
Besides that, this was one of the most creative action figure reviews I've ever seen! A lot of figure reviewers on CZcams release a ton of reviews on a consistent basis, making animating them via stop motion an unrealistic prospect. But when effort is put in to be creative, it's great to see and makes a more lasting impression on the viewer! Especially when the animation is mostly presented well and aids the review by showing one of the most important functions for a figure, that being the articulation.
Your voice was done well with a few issues here and there, but doesn't harm your commentary. The structure is also done well, showing each of the figures pros and cons before the final feature of them all combining. Though you missed the opportunity to do size comparisons of the individual figures as opposed to just Devastator. Though, I loved the subtle 'Tin of pop' size comparison reference from 2Old4Toys you put in; not bringing attention to it and making it a viewer bonus is one of the best ways to implement a reference!
In short, I really, really liked this review! It had sort of a rocky start when it came to production values, but they were quickly rectified as the review went on. I would suggest you do more reviews like this, but I'm well aware stop motion is a very time consuming process. I really hope you do well in WTH 2017, since the effort you put in can clearly be seen. Good luck to you, my friend!

Well, the beginning bit involving Scrapper, Mixmaster and Scavenger with the lighting inconsistencies was due to the webcam's auto light balance being in affect and I didn't notice it until I got to Scavenger (since I started on the these guys first).
I did do a bit involving showing the individual bots size comparison, but I ended up cutting it out due to shortening the length of the review as well as it not properly fitting anywhere. So that will be featured in the upcoming deleted scenes (along with some other animation I did with no place to go).
Glad you overall liked the review, even though it went through production hell for me ^^; Thank you kindly for the comment.

The cement mixer part does make me think of a bug abdomen. Nice work with the stop motion and review in general. :)

Wish I had G1 Devastator as he would have been a perfect comparison. But wasn't exactly THAT desperate to spend alot on a figure that I was mainly wanting for a review ^^; Thanks for the comment

you can usually find good alternatives on Alibaba and eBay. the knockoffs usually have slightly simpler molds if you can believe that. But they do get the job done
