Can we stop with the nasty comments please. CZcams keeps turning the comments off because of the language and hateful comments. Thank you
They don't ever stop hateful comments. Just truth. LOL
Because we have our grandson on our channels and hes a minor the comment have been disabled due to minor just letting u no what they said
Hilary's hard-drive 🤔
@@ericsgreyhairwisdom5799 the hateful comments were removed. Some of them were quite bad to be honest. Especially ones about us getting hurt ourselves. One comment was "wished it was a bomb and it went off".
YOU IDIOT
I actually laughed out loud when Mrs. B said "I'll tell your mum!". Thanks for another fun visit with you !
Who else thought it was a brick of coke
Nate Eve I thought so too! Lol
I thought it was drugs or a load of notes.
I was like wtf I can never get that lucky magnet fishing HAHA
I sure did.
The black tin was an old fashioned ammunition box that would have had a soft soldered lid covering one side, hermetically sealing the contents and preventing deterioration.
Quite likely bought for a legally owned pistol before post-Dunblane handgun ban and when discovered in more recent years, dumped in the canal to get rid of it.
I can't believe some of the comments on here. This is someone filming a lighthearted pastime and it's turned into a stupid battle of words.I for one am enjoying it for what it is.Please post more.
Really, what's wrong with people?!?... They were just trying to be safe and do the right thing....
Want happen outlaw from oak
If nothing else they’re getting all the detritus out of the rivers. That alone is a good thing.
Stfu they care about being youtubers & earning a cheque when its gunna take at least over 100.000 subs to get a steady income ppl think you make content & ur rewarded for it 😂🤡
It's a wonderful thing you all do. . . cleaning up the waters while treasure hunting. cheers

Lovely couple. Her laughter is contagious. :D
Happy fishing!
First video I've ever commented on, but I just wanted to say how brilliant your videos are! They really make me and my kids laugh!! I'm a Birmingham native myself, living in Wales, so watching your videos reminds me of home!! ☺
In all honesty, I thought this video was really cool! Makes me want to go magnet fishing sometime!
Love your wife's comments. She is so sweet. Love your humor on these fun video's. Hope you find lot's to make you rich :)
Just imagine when you and your husband retired and done caring for your children. This will be the best hobby to have 😊
The contents of the black box is wrapped packets of pistol ammo. Usually called a "spam" can. It would have been sealed with a soldered lid. A "D" ring on the lid would be lifted and pulled, to peel the lid off.
Lets keep all comments fun and light hearted. Children are on this channel and children are watching. I realize that the British say things that Americans find funny, so respond in a fun way. Thanks
It's like metal detecting aqua-style. Really interesting stuff! Thanks for sharing you experiences with us.
Watching from USA. Texas to be exact. Love y'alls accents. So beautiful!
Tracy thank you. Brummies don’t often receive compliments on our accents.
Same Tracy
No matter any accent, You guys are all cool.... I like all y'alls accents tho!!! Texas too!!! You guys rock!!! Greeting from the Space Coast of Florida!!!!!
I love the accent,,,I have been practicing how to speak the accent for 30 years love it. Funny story I was doing the accent at ceader point in line for the gate keeper 2 years ago,,, i had all the people in line near me fooled into thinking I was from England,,lol I've gotten good at it.
Thank you. I really enjoyed watching you finding the hidden "treasures",I would love to see some more.
"It's an arsenal" American viewers lol that's not an arsenal
That's what this American was thinking too. :)
im America I call this useless bullets that should be tossed out.
Lmao I literally just said “that’s not an Arsenal....”
my first thought also, i was at an arsenal last week and it was a large stone building.
I thought the same thing and giggled.....I call that 15 minutes worth.....
I love the way she says "I'll tell your mum and do as you're told" lol
BadAttitude She's annoying.
Jed Clampett that’s the way us Scots and the brits talk and mess with each other it’s a lot different from over here in the USA.
Love your videos. Great finds. Love Mrs Brummies, "I'll tell your mom" 😄😄. Stay warm, be careful.
I was so hoping for a box of old coins or jewels.
It was still exciting to watch.
2:54 This is how the packages for kids Christmas Eve need to be packed so there is more time to enjoy their own gift while the next person packs one up. 🎄🎁
I have to say of all the videos on magnet fishing yours are always the ones I enjoy the most. keep making them guys and I look forward to seeing more...
Love you guys, your finds and the way that you are helping to keep the waterways clean.
Hi Guy's, Mrs B you crack me up ( ooh arrrr careful lol) I love watching you both and laugh with J too :)
I love mum, brilliant Camera woman and commentator!!
You just never know what that magnet will find.
Of all the magnet fishing channels, yours' is my favorite!
Start carrying a net with you, makes it easy to retrieve things first time!!!! Love Brummies xoxo

First of all Phill..I love the new opening and closing graphics..nice job mate...omg...when you find stuff you find stuff..omg...you've found a grenade...knives...guns and now this!! Lol I would have peeked at what was in the little boxes..Julie was so protective and cute telling you not to touch anything lol..well if you here what was in those boxes let us know..stay warm..take care
Apparently they were more bullets
@@brummiesoutdoors that's good to know..lol maybe next time you hit that area you'll find the gun or guns
You guys found grandads old bullets for his shooter . I've never found a sealed up package but I bet it's like opening up a gift box on Christmas. I want to go play in the river now ! .
I really enjoyed your videos.Fun and interesting to watch.I'm from South Carolina and all I can find when magnet fishing is tackle and junk. Good times.
No matter what all the rest of the comments say - you did the right thing. Thanks
That's what I say aswell..... Thanks!
Good on ya ! Having the wife with you too, she's a gem 😁
Excellent video Mr & Mrs B! Can’t believe the attitude of the police though, absolutely shocking!
Can’t wait to see what The Troublemaker drags up next 🤗 xx
I love the old canals and brick bridges. So much history. America is sooo young in comparison.
Some of my ancestors settled in the New World in 1600. how old do you want history to be ?
@@Mercmad That was in one small area for 250 years, while the rest of the nation was virtual wilderness. Any where in europe you can find dwellings 1000 years old and older. Therefore you will have potential finds of those periods.
great video!! From the USA, that is less then the amount of rounds i would bring to a range to shoot for fun. id bring about 200 .223 for everyone, 200-400 .22LR, while showing the kids how to shoot responsibly. then at least 80 12 gauge for the tennis ball skeet. Cool find though, I think the best way to describe it, is like finding someones tackle box. 2 Thumbs up.
Great hearing the Brummagen accent again, thanks for taking all that stuff out of the cut. The box you found would have contained ammo, packed in a sort of large sardine tin, you usually pulled a handle like a big ring pull to open the tin. Now, after the police first told you to bin it- would they have stood by that if you were stopped with it on the way home??- and bin it where? the nearest Peaky Blinders pub????. Well done team Brummies Outdoors.
An enjoyable and very relaxed little post. And you were absolutely right to play it by the book with the ammunition. No-one these days needs to be caught in possession of unlicensed ammo, or allow it to fall into the wrong hands.
It's an arsenal, perhaps by UK standards, but not here in America. That would be an afternoon worth of target practice. This was an interesting find, and from my perspective, an interesting look at your local views on firearms related items. Too bad the ammo can wasn't still sealed, the one you were worried about checking deeper into. That ammunition would have been in perfect condition. I am not too sure of the laws there where you are, but it was likely someones ammunition supply for guns they are no longer allowed to own. You may find them buried nearby, or in the same location as the ammunition. Get a metal detector and start sweeping the area nearby. Interested to hear from you folk if you discover more restricted items.
Gotham city had Batman fighting crime . Birmingham has magnet fishing :-) . Cool video
"Don't touch it, I'll tell your mother"
What a fantastic hobby! I want to do it. You can clean waterways and make great finds while you're at it!!
Whilst watching, all of a sudden I had this memory coming up of George and Mildred. I even thought I heard Mildred's voice (Yootha Joyce) with the little giggle after every sentence. :-)
additional comment. I've learned from your vid that when disposing of evidence do so in a non ferrous metal box. thanks for your help. pdaddy and poco on paisa creek.
Hey there Mr. B. Oh and Mrs. B also! The black tin inside the red lock box was a tin of ammo packed for military use. They package the small card stock boxes inside a metal box that is then sealed air and water tight for long term storage in the depot. By the size of the tin and boxes inside it was most likely handgun ammo. Hope this helps you out. With all the stuff you turn into the police they must know you by name now...:) PEACE:)
Thanks for the info 👍 i was curious what they were
See what happens? You try to do a good deed and do the right thing, and they really just blow you off.
this is the most genuine channel on youtube. Love it, keep it up Mr and Mrs Brummie. + new intro is brill
The thing that looks like a razor is an emergency window hammer. Looks like its been nicked off a bus. Great video. From another brummie ☺
Yeah a tungsten hammer off a bus m8
Nice! I will try that fishing in The NEW JERSEY waters.....thanks!
Be careful.... In NJ you're likely to cat a dead person by the lead in them or re-bar in the concrete galoshes !!! 😉
Likely to find some interesting things
I am from the USA and I love to watch your channel. Mrs B you are fabulous on the camera.
I enjoy watching your little adventures. Thank you.
This was exciting, thanks for sharing. Yikes, I would be nervous. I wish it had been a cash box of gold for you❤️☮️🇨🇦
This man called a couple rounds an arsenal😂
It’s a joke
never magnet fished, looks like fun. thanks for sharing.
it really doesnt pay to be the nice guy,,but you know that you did the right thing, proud of you,lov your video,s
OMG, you made me laugh out loud, literally!! “I’ll tell your Mum!!” Oh, Mrs! You crack me up!
Love her accent. Thinking I need to invest in a large magnet and nylon rope.
I have tremendous respect for police officers but they see a lot every day and I imagine it can get to be difficult and depressing...I think that's why they are sometimes a bit brusque and seem not interested. But they're good people and we couldn't do without them. Good for you to bring the ammo in and to accept how you were treated. You continue to do always the right thing. Good job, you!
USA HERE, I love the new opening to your video. I expected the reaction you got from the coppers even making you bring it to the station yourself. I am sure there are good ones that really have the public's interest at heart. If it was me I just wouldn't tell them the next time you get something you believe has been stolen or might be dangerous. I am sure they get irritated at magnet fisher's for waking them up. Good luck, I hope you find a box of jewels and if you turn them in I will be very disappointed.
While you were unpacking the parcel I chewed through three nails in suspense
Great video! A big howdy from West Virginia!!! Those looked like 9 mm bullets.
9mm, and longer. maybe 10mm? I've not seen much of 10mm but I know it's around from time to time.
those longer ones are .357 magnum i believe
That sure looks like it's quite fun and relaxing, but I assume since you don't know what you are fishing out a little suspenseful to boot.God bless you both...
wow quite the finds, great to get the trash out of the water to!!
You guys ought to bring a big ocean fishing net on a long handle and help bring finds above the water line.
To The Brummies Family, Thank You for posting these great videos; I would bet there is at least one Gun in this area? Take Care;
We had a big flood in south Texas in the 80s. Almost a decade later we had another one in 1996. Public works found a metal box coated in Wax on the public golf course. In it was gold, Bara bonds and money, About $100K all together and still like new. Turns out it was from the flood of the 1980 from a house that was washed away. They returned it to the owner and he rewarded them with a lot of Goodies..money, etc. Good man, lucky find. Most of when I found was old washing machines and space heaters,,,LOL< none of which could ever be used again..LOL
The closed captioning was hilarious on this. It said you were taking the box to the PlayStation among other crazy stuff. Lol.
Oh what a surprise, the police weren't interested in a hidden stash of bullets. A friend of mine witnessed a burglary in a neighbouring house and took photographs. The police didn't bother to attend and told him to have the film developed and drop them off at the station. Needless to say, he never heard anything more about it.
Helen Weedon, the police "told him to have the film developed and drop them off at the station"? Did he take these pictures last century? Is he a time traveling, crime fighting photographer? Does your friend live some place very slow to evolve and progress? Is your friend just slow to evolve and progress? Is your friend Dr. Who?
I just can't imagne putting a cell phone or digital camera into a wet film development tank nor taking candid crime photos with a film camera these days! lol
@@grinninggoat5369 So what you are saying is that if one has an old story that involves outdated technology don't bother telling it? LOL back at you!
@@serazio Firstly, the commenter didn't say it was an old story.
Secondly yes, in regards to what you asked, that is what I am saying. Especially in the case of people who comment half a year from the original comment just to pose an antiquated joke to another on their question. ( Questions that were never originally answered by the person for anyone to know when the incident occurred.)
@@grinninggoat5369 Well I don't consider myself all that bright but it did occur to me that the comment related to a story some time ago. Incidentally, a quick search found no less that 27 photo labs in my area willing to do developing and printing . . . So glad I still have my film camera.
@@serazio , I wouldn't know what you say is in your area as much as you know what is in the OP's friend's area because 1) I develope my own film since the vast majority of local film labs shut down due to digital and 2) I don't really care.
Nice to know you're doing your online homework since you admit you're not too bright. Keep trying Corkie.... Especially since you seem very determined to make my jokes a serious research project for yourself!
Lol, back at you if you wish but, you're not too bright to chat with so maybe don't expect another reply.
That's a very interesting find. In the past I've done explosives courses and one thing they said was not to use any kind of phone or radio transmitter within 10 metres of a suspect package because the signal can cause a current in any wiring attached to a detonator. Just thought I would mention it ! As for the Police reaction - what can I say? They asked you to take live rounds of ammunition and packages of associated material that could be explosives, to the Police Station! Then they complain about the smell and tell you to bin it. As the kids say... FFS!
Crusty Camper Shouldn’t the police come to the scene? I would think that they would.
@@durandconnie7161 I was shocked to hear how casually they treated this. In my opinion, yes they should have given it priority and at least sent someone with a bit of firearms experience there to check exactly what had been found. To ask someone to carry what could have been explosives into a town centre and into a police station is foolish, to say the least.
Saya orang Indonesia , Blitar Jawa timur , mohon beri saya magnet untuk mancing....
Amazing new green sport. Your video convinced me to get a larger magnet. Blessed Be Cheerio for now.
Fair play to you for doing the right thing with the box 😊
Probally someones previously legally owned rounds just thrown away years after 1996 when they banned automatic pistols cause they knew they'd probally never use them again
Little black box was probably British WW2 .380 ammo for the Webbly .380 issue pistol. Here in the states we call that round .38 S&W. I have opened many of those little black cans of that ammo. Nothing dangerous there. had been in the water to long to fire.
@adam jennings Yep, you did have .38 revolvers during the war, sent from the US via Lend Lease in a can filled with cosmoline. They were then "broad arrow" marked and bored out to 38 Webley. I have one of these that was brought back to the the US, and the ammo is very hard to find. .38 s&w cartridges will fire in it, but the brass expands too much during the firing process, so you have to fight to get them out of the cylinder. Crazy bit of US-UK history!
Kinda neat watching this... hi from Texas.
Wonderful video. Please don’t mind the negative comments. There are those that enjoy watching your videos, and those that enjoy being negative. I truly enjoyed watching, and subscribed. I was concerned as you opened the box, and am glad nothing bad happened. Keep posting your videos and thank you for sharing.
and five feet to the right... jimmy hoffa's body! 😉😉😉
I would have opened the boxes. I'm to curious.
That's a long one innit?!
Me: That's what SHE said. 😂
Loving the new opening format! Crazy find!
Phil, they are all pistol ammunition. I saw some either .357 or .44 magnum pistol cartridges. Being in the canal for that long, the water has made the powder and the primers inert. They wouldn't fire. I am surprised at the attitude of the police. Perhaps it was only at THAT particular station, and at another they would have taken you more seriously. Keep up the good videos. Ian, Southern California, USA
The smaller boxes that looked.like .22 were 7.65, so .32 acp.
Most ammo is sealed well enough to keep powder dry. The ammo likely is fireable. But harmless without a weapon
sounds to me like the police didn't want the responsibility of processing it. I would have thought that a car would have been sent to the canal so that the search could be taken over by them. but, they just weren't interested.
The police didnt care because the likelyhood of the ammunition being usable was extremely slim after being submerged for any length of time much less posing any threat. Still looks like it was fun to find and you are cleaning the waterways.
Fantastic video and getting Brummies known for the right reasons. You may want to review comments before they are posted if you are having a problem
OMG bullets. Look out they might attack.
very Brummies Outdoors!
I was hoping in was full of coins. But it was a great video.
I never find anything you guys really help me stay inspired to stay out of trouble in the us
First. Time. I. Get. To. See. This. Channel,
Love. Great. Super. Terrific. Love. This. Video
9mm rounds ready and 9mm and what looks like .45 casings, the small boxes are the bullets to make more rounds all they need is gun powder and bullet press even after being under the water they could still of been used. good find
You guys are great! I'm about to get a magnet and start fishing here in the US. Thanks for the inspiration :-)
Thank goodness you found that box of bullets. Who knows what they were going to be used for. Thank you for being helpful towards the environment and looking out for people’s safety.
Fantastic find, sadly the police response does not surprise me. Would love to know what was in the unopened boxes

Oh, my goodness! You pulled that box out and I thought... oooo that looks like a brick of drugs... but it was magnetic? Then you were unwrapping it, and it reminded me of our Christmas mornings. Every year, some one got a gift encased in an entire role of packing tape.
Then I thought: oh wow... one of these days they are going to pull out a box, wrapped up, and inside will be a note: Surprise Brummies! Hope you had fun with the box! Give me a shout out, when you open this.

Thanks for cleaning up the river, you may not have found gold but bullets out harms way priceless..
Cool find,thanks for sharing.
It's just ammo....its funny they get so panicky 🤣
I shot more that that whole box last weekend 🤣
Well, next time just keep it haha
Hello from Utah USA. I’ve been really enjoying all these magnet fishing videos. The tin with the smaller boxes inside look like more cartridges most likely. Not dangerous until loaded into a gun in the wrong hands. “Disposing” of the cartridges isn’t the smartest idea. But as far as evidence? Is it illegal over there to own brand new ammo? Can’t see how that would be evidence unless it was the shell casings only. The question would be, where are the bullet counterparts now and could they be matched to the casings as part of a crime locally? Since they were new, its just, nothing in my mind. Free ammo. Ignorance can insight fear, not to call names to anyone. Thumbs up to you.
My thoughts too. I said it looks like a doomsday preppers stash. Im east coast usa, so guessing we have close to same thinking, lol.
😇😎finders keepers👌🤝
Hi Phil and Julie, if the screwdriver has a split in the centre in the shape of a vee then it is for pulling up nails and tacks. I use to have one but it went missing x stay safe guys x
My daughter who is on the photo with me, says she loves your accent, especially Mrs B. She’s been noising over my shoulder of what I watch on you tube, nosey bugger her, lol.
I’d have to have had a look in them boxes. There could have been a box full of gold sovereigns
Cool video. Here in the USA finding a box of bullets would be no big thing. Funny to see how the different countries gun laws work. Thanks for the video.
