I couldn't catch all the jokes, and closed captions didn't help, but in the one about the teacher, 'high German' refers to a more formal version of the German language, rather like Received Pronunciation compared to regional variations. Rather like Sir Tony Robinson's RP versus Phil Harding's Wiltshire speech on 'Time Team'. Oo arrr!

Germany is where my father was born and raised but came to the US when he was 27.

Ooh, cinnamon stick. Overly sweet is not good. Almond cookies sounds good. Green drink I would like to try. A good mix.
