BRO YOU SAVED ME 500 ON A VALVE COVER GASKET FOR MY BMW AFTER THE VALVETRONIC GASKET PLASTIC THREAD STRIPPED!!!!! AHHHHH THIS TRICK IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's the point of spending the kind of money a BMW costs, if they're using plastic threads like that? I just removed the MAF on a Honda Civic, and discovered that, unlike many other cars, the screws are held by metal threads. Thank you, Honda. Why am I here, then, you ask? Because I'm also removing the MAF on a Mazda 3, where the threads do go into plastic, and one of the screws took the threads with it when I removed it. I will probably try this wire method, since it seems pretty foolproof and unlikely to cause any further damage if I'm reasonably careful. And I happen to have a lot of wire on hand. Epoxy or drilling out the hole is less foolproof.
Great trick with the wire. I used the wire on 2 stripped thread holes on my stihl ms 250 chainsaw. The wire worked great. Thank you so much for showing us this.
@@ConfiscatedZyra Honestly mate thanks so much for this. I just tried the zip tie thing and its amazing. I tightend my hyper x cloud 2 headphones and for some reason the plastic hole stripped. I couldnt screw it in properly. You saved me. Tysm!!!

Watched your video, tried the copper wire trick, and it worked awesomely! Thank you!
Copper wire braid (solder wick) works exceptionally well for this!
nice, will try that
Thank you, worked like a charm!
Thanks! Very useful tip.
champion.. will try this out now..
Nice fix!
That's really smart. In essence you made a helicoil using copper wire. Well done!
Simple yet so effective ✨👌🏼💯🏆🍭
THIS WORKED FOR MY CHARGER 2020
thanks.
I'm assuming that was a metric crap-tonne? and that you had run out of No. 8 wire?
Don't assume
I stripped my plastic intake manifold on my car. I'm going to try this trick
zip ties work pretty well too in case you dont have wire. everybody's got one or the other
