    Yes, it does take a while to boil water on an electric range. My trick is to boil water in my elecric tea kettle first, then add to water on stove to give a boost. I've had a Maytag Gemini electric double oven for 13 years and love it. Now in new home and want to purchase the oven you have with induction cook top. Thanks for your review. It was helpful.

    You do a really good job. The only other con I would say is that you have to squat down to put something in the bottom oven.

    I placed an order for the induction version. Induction is better than radiant, but more expensive. But it boils water much faster than radiant or gas.

    It’s so high tech. I love the touchscreen. I can’t believe it has two ovens. So cool. Great for cooks and bakers. We’ve had our gas range since we bought our house and thankfully it’s still good. I’ll have to look into these new ones.

    One of your burners is high output Power Boil. Please read your manual. Most high end electric ranges have this feature. Please contact GE about the door or the appliance store. I also went from a gas oven to an electric one and had considered the GE Cafe series because I wanted an oven with the knobs on the front. There is a lot to learn about using an electric oven.

    • @BiancaFigz
      @BiancaFigz  Před 3 lety +1

      Thank you! Yes I know about the power boil but it definitely still takes longer than I was previously used to which makes sense for an electric stove top

    Very nice video and review. We currently have a freestanding Maytag Gemini ‘Double Oven’ that hit just full 9 years November of 2003 and a few things are starting to appear in which a newer purchase may happen in the next couple of years (hopefully) Baking light indicator’s are getting dim to read and technician said parts are no longer available. Wife and I thought it was great idea for a double oven and like other’s never knew they existed. My wife uses the top oven 85-90% of the time once you get this style of stove and she says will never go back to a single oven. The top oven heats faster, not as large and is just convenient for baked items for cookie sheet to 12X9 baking dish. Does not heat up the entire kitchen. Yes, the electric stoves will boil water slower, just a way it conducts the heat from elements to the pot I would suppose, however I would be curious on the induction type of heating, will need to do some more research for next future purchases. I did like that lighted dial feature to let you know which burner is on, they need to incorporate it on the freestanding models for that quick reference. I would ask 1) if that air fryer you said was included in a software update, does that work only in the lower oven or apply’s to both; 2) does the easy clean (using water to steam) work better than just a normal self cleaning oven and is both options available for both ovens? Thanks for the review which was to the point of pro’s and con’s and giving feedback, well spoken! Good luck on that door being cattywampus, never did find that you received a solution to improperly aligned door.
    Thanks!

    • @BiancaFigz
      @BiancaFigz  Před rokem

      Thank you for the compliments! To answer your questions, air fry is only available on the lower oven. The self clean and steam clean is available for both ovens. Self clean takes 3-5 hours while the steam clean only takes 30 mins. I personally think self clean works better even though it takes longer. Keep in mind you’ll need to crack a window when doing self clean as it can let out a strong smoky smell

    There's a good chance the unit wasn't leveled properly. The chassis is thin sheet metal and can bend like a parallelogram, but the doors can't. The right side needs to drop or the left side needs to come up. The rear feet also need to be adjusted, which requires pulling the range out. It takes some trial and error. I have the induction version of the previous model before the new styling. It's way better than gas!

    I hate waiting for water to boil too. I like to put about 2 to 3 cups of water in the pot and get it started boiling. Then fill up my electric kettle and add that boiling water to the pot. Takes less than 5 minutes. Depending on how much water you need. But adding the already boiling water speeds it up tremendously.

    I have the GE Cafe CC2S950 gas range. From new(2020 or 2021), the front right burner on simmer up to number 2 setting where flame is still low would cause the sensor to think the flame is out and would activate all spark ignitions of all burners 1-2 times every minute. Cannot use it on simmer. Had tech out 3-4 times for this. They tried to add a ground cable to another burner (front left burner) and it seems to have helped.
    ALSO a very bad design flaw is that the exhaust vent for the oven, which operates when the oven is on and for several minutes after the oven is off, located at the rear right blows horizontally across the right two burners. If you are using those burners when the exhaust is operating, the blowing air will blow out the burners unless on medium to high flame. But then the flame is not uniform and dancing all over the place due to the exhaust air flow. To some extent, it also affects the flame on the middle burners. When the rear right oven exhaust is operating, I must use something thin and upright and police it at the rear of the right cast iron grate to block the airflow if using the burners on the right. The the exhaust will blow upwards. I use my stainless steel stove top round burner covers. No fix from LG.

    • @BiancaFigz
      @BiancaFigz  Před 3 lety +1

      I haven’t toasted a whole turkey, only did a turkey breast. I will say that the top oven is not large enough for a turkey. A normal sized Thanksgiving turkey will fit in the bottom convection oven with the center rack removed

    Commenting on your cons...
    Not sure if yours has the same but ours has adjustable feet. When we installed we needed to raise all 4 and 2 of them even more to make it level.
    Not sure on water, just installed, and it has a quick boil feature that i havent used yet.
    Last, I would be so pissed if I bought it and the features didn't work 100% of the time! Argh.

    Is there a lock out mode on the range? I worry about my kids playing with the knobs? I heard you can cut the power off with the app. Do you know if that is true?

    • @BiancaFigz
      @BiancaFigz  Před 3 lety

      This was something we looked into ourselves before buying the range. You can only lock the screen that controls the ovens. You can’t lock the knobs. To control the knobs though, you have to push them in before you can turn them on. My 3 year old hasn’t figured out how to turn them on. As for the app, you can control the ovens but I don’t see an option for the cooktop. Hope that helps!

    • @BiancaFigz

      There is an upper oven and a lower oven button so you can set them at different temps and different cooking settings (i.e. bake vs roast)

    • @BiancaFigz
      @BiancaFigz  Před 2 lety +1

      No it goes higher than 350°. I’ve set it to 425° but not sure what the highest is. You use the keypad to set the temp so you can set it to a random number like 354° if you wanted to

Everything was backordered, we first got the fridge and dishwasher, and barely this past Friday we received our range. I have to straddle the oven door which is almost on the floor to get things out of the oven. So back breaking, burn concerns and then we add a curious dog.
