Hey guys, if you have a Mercedes Vehicle it is likely that you might have some transmission problems sooner or later. As a whole the 722.6 is a strong transmission but the electronic components might fail. If your car is stuck in LIMP Mode and does not shift it could be because of a leak in the wire, bad conductor plate, or bad solenoid. We demonstrated on a 2001 Mercedes ML320.

Auto Repair Guys hi i have a 2004 dodge sprinter won't change gear out of 1st. Automatic. Been to a few garages. Daid it could be abs as the lights on dash... also been told it could be speedometer sensor. Have you got any experiance in this and a possible cause and solution? Much appreciated

Thank You. I have another question. I have a 2001 Mercedes S500 that has intermediate start problems. I will turn the key, the dash lights turn on however, the car sometimes won't crank or would attempt to crank then nothing. I have done a test to put the transmission into neutral then attempted to start again. The car started! Any suggestions what the problem is and what I do to fix the problem?

I changed to ATF with the filter and my car started two jerk from the first to the second and a slight bit from the second to the third I bought the fluids from Mercedes another thing I have done reset Adaptation using diagnostic tool what do you advise me to do to get rid of the Jerk I appreciate thank you so much

nbafigueroa hey man sorry to bother you. I recent had this same problem. Did you buy a new part or I can clean the solenoid and clear the oil veins. And did you buy the Mercedes brand transmission oil or an alternative?

The shifter either engage very harsh to D or to R , and/or it lose power when accelerate from 0!!
Code error is P2767 transmission rpm sensor (input) signal missing
Someone told me it is the whole piece( shown in your video) That I must change and according to this someone it is very expensive(600€ if found as used part)!!

Appreciate for your tips and video. Well, I came across limp home mode previously and fixed by the electronic plate replacement about 2 years ago. Today, I cold start the engine. Driver door open, I hear some "gigi noise" while shifting gear say from P to R, then R to D or vice versa. Is there any problem and wonder to know where the noise coming from? Thanks.

My mercedes E280 (W211, engine OM642, Transmission 722.9.02) can run OK for 15-20 minutes, then the gear failed to shift and stays on gear 1 or 2, engine RPM is up to 3000-3500 with speed 60km/hour. Please does this as well apply to a GL450 2008. Mine stuck in gear 1 when vehicle is well warmed up, and jerks forcefully with a hard noise when engaging the gear to drive or reverse. When scanned comes with a code 1405.

you guys have to reset the transmission codes so it could work, any scanner won't do it, it has to be from a Mercedes dealer or special scanner, not alot of people has those.

guys: u need the tam must be same number. not al Tom 5 speeds are the same. further u need to clear transmission codes.

Use an ohm meter and check see if the resistance is the same. Check the part # to make sure your testing the same type. A friend suggested this after i couldnt find a place to get mine tested. So simple!

I have a 1999 E 320 that will go into park reverse neutral and drive but not into the lower gears it just won't even move the the shifter handal. Any thoughts or comments question . Would be greatly appreciated
Your "shift selector" maybe got wet from coffee etc. If you still have the problem, let me know.

@@brettcurtis5047 I have seen the shift selector, fancy name MB gave a gear shifter. They can get dirty and get weird. If you don't need to manually shift it for performance purpose, I might check the connections in the shifter, and if not the issue, leave it be. The conductor plate is common in these, but if it shifts as it should during normal driving, that isn't the problem. I see shifter assemblies on eBay for around $100. Not hard to replace. Not sure if this helps. Bottom line, almost positive it's in the shifter assembly. Pretty common I'm pretty sure. Let me know what happens.

how do you replace the speed sensor? Isn't that included in the conductor plate or something completely different? I got one that has that code, I've changed the conductor plate but still doesn't shift from first!

I've been reading that after you install a new conductor plate you need to reset the codes or else it won't work what scanner are you guys using to reprogram the TCU (Transmission Control Unit).
I've done this successfully without doing a reset. The conductor plate is plug and drive.
I replaced the conductor with a Chinese made one on Ebay. Still had the limp mode. Then I bought a used shift selector. Transmission was good for 3 months then limp mode again.
I bought the second used unit and it has been working well. Just cross my finger.
Mercedessource told us to reset, but LUCKILY it does not need.
I guess the stealership will ask for 1000 usd to do so...at least
