I just finished playing this game last night (yes, I binged it in a day), and it was such a beautiful game. I was really excited when I found out Mxmtoon was the singing voice, but honestly Alex doesn't sing a whole ton throughout the game, wish there was just a bit more. But please PLEASE play this game if you're interested, it's really good! Also, this game just made me fall in love with Steph haha

But this one is special, it equalizes everyone’s role well unlike the other games when it was focusing too much on Chloe or Rachel or Daniel. Undeniably LIS : True Colors is the best LIS franchise so far. The visual as well as the music was earful to hear and each time the game prompt to sit at the sofa or at the bridge of the lake, it's always nice to see the view and enjoy the music for hours. I hope there's more LIS game cuz it's worth the wait.
I found out about this game from seeing play-throughs on youtube and since I'm fruity as hell, I watched them. Then a couple weeks later I meet and girl and she sends me a clip of the game(the hand in marriage one) cuz something I said reminded her of it (at this point I was really excited since I had a crush on her and we could relate to something that we both liked a lot). It was this clip that sparked a whole conversation about LIS and she ended up inviting me over to her house so that I could play it. And from that first invite I kept going over to her house. And now our 1 month is tomorrow hehe :)

I watched all the vids when they came out but didn’t play the game until I randomly ran into it at my local library. I remembered mxmtoon was the singing voice and I loved how the cover of the game looked. So, I decided to give it a go. Four days later and I completed the game, crying about the relatability of the final scenes (act your part while strangers comment how clearly broken you are during the orphanage flashback esp.) and I can claim that it’s the most beautiful and emotionally realistic and true game I’ve played thus far (mind you, I haven’t played many, and this was the first LIS game I tried). What an amazing game and story. I’m so glad such a cool artist was a part of it. (But, y’all, don’t blame me for saying that this vid + “every wave’s” vid got me thinking that there was no other romantic option besides Steph. I mean, I chose her, obv. who can deny that chemistry between those two. Also, compare their possible love score moments to Ryan’s where you see him act like a surprised golden retriever who didn’t expect to be in the running for the main romantic choice. Bro clearly wasn’t really expecting to be an option and besides the optional comments you could direct at him during the LARPing scene, he def seemed more like a big bro throughout the entire game (come at me for how I saw it, I still need to replay the game and give his route a try) and like someone commented on the CZcams vid where it went through all their cutscenes together, something def was missing between Alex and Ryan vs Alex and Steph. Maybe it was the lack of a musical connection between the two (the girls often bonded over vinyls and songs and could play onstage together) or my aforementioned thoughts of him seeming like an additional big brother to Alex, but this missing part definitely helped me make my choice when it was time to.
True colors isn't a game. Sure you can go back to checkpoints and restart it, but it's a story that you can mix your personality in and make decisions based on previous actions and how you feel alex should react to events that depending on who you are you can understand and feel the anger, sadness, fear, or the joy the characters are experiencing. I think this game shouldn't be considered a game it's a story, that has genuinely helped me through struggles I've been having recently, and mxmtoon's songs are the icing on the perfect cake. Most of Us guys who played the game feel awkward romancing another dude even if we're playing as freaky empathic female protagonist Alex, so we don't typically choose Ryan -- although he's a decent himbo tree cop with golden retriever vibes -- on that basis alone, but there's also the eventual villain reveal that would make dating Ryan feel completely uncomfortable, even if it's not Ryan's fault regarding what happened, however nonetheless, the fact of the matter is, if Alex romances Ryan, then her possible father-in-law would be the exact same guy who basically killed 2/3rds of Alex's family & even tried offing her too by shooting her down a mine shaft during the dead of night & I don't think Alex honestly needs even more emotional baggage in her life than what she already has at the moment; 2. LGBTQ girl gamers typically choose the LGBT+ friendly/romantic option over the heterosexual one, if given the choice. 3. In-game, at the climatic showdown at the Town Council Meeting, Steph is the only one to 99.9% stand by Alex no matter what (at this point, Steph's ride-or-die as it pertains to Alex), as everyone else present -- Ryan included -- can turn against Alex if enough "bad decisions" (telling Riley about Eleanor's Alzheimer's, taking away Charlotte's anger, signing the affadavit but still trying to get Deputy Jason Pike to stand up for himself rather than being bribed by Typhon by way of the Road King motorcycles that were given to the police force using Typhon's tax dollars & Pike's own budding romance with process manager/Typhon's Haven representative Diane Jacobs, NOT dancing with depressed Duckie in the bar during the Spring Festival to help him get over the loss of his deceased wife Tabitha Baker, and of course, all of these can affect if Ryan believes Alex or not, despite the fact that he should already be aware that a certain someone very close to him was paid off by Typhon years ago [especially since it was mentioned aloud by Gabe to Alex when the Chen siblings & Ryan himself were at the old mining cite searching for Ethan, who was living out his Monster Slayer Thaynor comic book in real life] & was living a lie which kept the truth [that is, the circumstances behind what really happened during the 2008 mine collapse] buried for several years) made, although this doesn't necessarily affect the ending, unless the player had chosen to romance Ryan over Steph, which the majority didn't (although most later did so, if only to see the alternative ending play out, with it painfully hurting emotionally when Steph suddenly leaves town with no warning or final goodbye at the end of the Ryan romance playthrough, yet it is also sad to see Ryan crying as he stands completely alone atop the Rocky Mountains looking out towards nature's bounty if Alex chooses to "Seek Adventure/Leave Haven" with Steph OR that he's removed entirely from the Steph romance's "Stay in Haven" ending, when the trio should've stayed together in that particular ending, with Ryan obviously taking over The Black Lantern bar & not having the heart to evict Alex from the upstairs apartment she had basically made her own, even if she never paid rent to live there, because the incarcerated previous owner essentially let her reside there for free).
