the fact that my local toy store sold this figure for 90$ is outrageous
What the fuck???
HUH???!!!🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
@@domydomy6668 yes no joke
USD⁉️😨
I had to pay 37 for mine not 95 but still more then it should be
A few things:
1: the windows not being pushed out angers me (the back panel can sit flush on the back if they are pushed out)
2: I thought the gamer edition barricade photo was in grayscale at first (that’s a bad thing for that figure)
3: the jet engine on the back of Prime for that half second was actually exo-suit Noah harnessing the power of Taco Bell
You're so funny queen
The windows do push apart which let's the back panel sit flush.....he didn't separate the windows
It's always a nice surprise when a smol figure is able to be so good and fun.
I just wish this was bigger
Honestly, this thing seems to be on par with the SS ROTB Prime for me. As someone who owns it, I would actually try and hunt this version down as well, mainly because I want to get into painting and this guy is the PERFECT candidate for it.
God damn it's nothing short of a miracle to see Perspective being so happy with a toy
It’s happened plenty of times before
@@izzik2781not in a long time, I don't remember when was the last time he was as excited as in this vid
@@ameizing2138ainline Rhinox?
@@ameizing2138 he was pretty keen on Skyquake, Armada Megatron, Mainline Rhinox, MP Skyfire, the list goes on
@@izzik2781 He liked them for sure, but I don't think he was as enthusiastic as he was here
This figure is so good that, despite the size, he became my new favorite Optimus toy. Honestly, I think he's fine for voyager price. Cheaper than most too.
The Studio Series shares all the positives but improves on most negatives(except the truck, though i find people exaggerate when they say it’s terrible)
The truck mode is not good. But it’s far from the worst
The jet engine was the human in the mirage skin
I absolutely love this figure too
This is an amazing figure. I am so happy that I went with this instead of SS as it's that good. He also looks great next to Scourge. What a figure
I'm probably never going to get this but I'm watching the review anyway
Thank you for the support. It really helps.
6:06 caught me completely off guard but damn I laughed my ass off at it. Might pick this guy up if I see him, otherwise I'm perfectly satisfied with my SS38 Optimus Prime.
Great video as always! Also, I just always love the background music for these videos!
Honestly, one of the most underrated channels on youtube, you deserve way more subs
I got this for somewhere between voyager and deluxe price at $40cad. A solid 8.5/10 figure, above average posing, decent accuracy and a really fun transformation as well!
6:18 that half second jet engine was actually Noah using his suit’s thrusters to propel Prime. Unless there was a different scene than them escaping where Prime seemed to have rockets? I could easily have missed it.
Just checked my ER Prime, those tabs you mentioned do seem less clicky in vehicle mode. Mine can still hold together but there’s certainly less snap to it
The "rocket" was Noah clinging to the back
Was it? It looked so much bigger?
Yeah he is their 'standard' voyager for the main core line of movie bots. Which is smaller, less paint apps, but still worth the same price as s.s. voyagers....they are crazy. All that said I do like this figure I custom painted him to my liking and mine looks really sharp imo. I'm still getting the s.s. but this was a nice place holder/indulgence of my other hobby.
I know you mentioned the waist in text, but I'm surprised you didn't show it off because even though it's limited, it works well. It almost has an organic feel to the waist rotation. It's a cool compromise.
I know the scene you're talking about, the jet propelled optimus was at the end when he was escaping the portal implosion and that was Noah on his back using his jets
Was it? It looked like a big Turbine.
@@PerspectiveEnd I'd probably have to watch it again but I'm pretty sure the booster was just Noah.
One of my favorite Optimus Prime figure since Studio Series Bumblebee Optimus, it gives me Invasion mode Optimus Prime from Age of Extinction. The SS ROTB may be better in robot mode, but i enjoyed this mainline Prime so much, better than Earthrise and G2 Laser Prime
It's so much fun, and it's getting unfairly overshadowed by the Studio Series one.
Perfectionist End. Great video!
so glad to see it get some wins. this is probably one of my favorite primes that I own (from a limited few), but still. great lil feller
and my god is the back of the truck OBJECTIVELY better than the ss version that ones so fucked
This one is so much fun. I'm enjoying it a million times more than I expected.
My local stores AND Amazon don’t have this yet, so I’m just waiting until the amazing day that they get it.
You called Skyquake Dreadwing
6:14 no that jet boost is actually noah using his exo suit boosters to help prime escape.
That "Jet" on his truck mode was exo-suit Noah.
While this figure has too many flaws for me to get, I do hope we get one more live action Bumblebee styled Optimus so the toy designs can bring together the best of all the previous Optimi to create the ultimate version of this character
What flaws because I adore this figure. It’s only flaw is the small and no looking up. Grey and plastic sucks but it’s so easy to fix.
@@alc4528exactly what I expect for this massively overrated figure
@@alc4528well it is the price of a deluxe
You are my favorite transformers Reviewer And anytime you upload Is the best part of the day Keep going You are amazing
6:15,no it was not optimus rocket engine,it was noah in the mirage suit giving him a boost with his jetpack
4:28 for the forward and backwards of the legs if u push with a bit more force both those ranges increase
At my local toy store, they charge the mainline figures about 5$+ more than the studio series figures.
Crazy world we live in.
(5$ might not seem like much to you first-world-ers, but from where im from u can get a big meal with that money.)
I would love to see more mainline reviews by you
Man those wrist joints remind me quite a bit of the old DOTM Optimus Toy I used to have when I was younger
Did they work the say way.
@@PerspectiveEnd from what I remember they were on an similar ball joint. It's been ages since I ever had that toy though
This will definitely be worth my money, even if I get the studio series one later down the line
I legit bought two of this guy, one to have and one to customise. Love this thing.
Also *ARGH,* the windows not being pushed out as they should in the robot mode segment hurts me on a spiritual level--
I think this dude is downscaled because Hasbro realized they made the better Prime the mainline one so in order for the Ss to sell the down scaled him, too some paint, and pinned his head. If this thing’s head could just do more than swivel, I wouldn’t even consider getting another ROTB Prime
That would be evil and brilliant.
A true MICRO-masterpiece
This is a very good movie OP in general, not even just RotB.
Indeed you are correct.
I noticed him in your collection video immediately
I even commented
I gave his gun to the prime that had the wolf and I gave the wolf and primal battle masters to this prime. It’s not that convincing but you can flip out his arm kibble to resemble arm blades. You can also chainsaw man him because of that 5mm port on the back.
I never would have considered doing that trade. It's amazing that it works at all.
Yeah, the same thing happened to my earthrise Prime. I noticed it a couple of days ago
6:08 why do i find that terrifying
You are supposed to.
6:00 this happened to me only months after I got mine, though I did play with it a whole lot. I have seen other people having this
6:08 That caught me so off guard I almost screamed 🤣
Glad to hear I've done my job.
I think if you want, you can bring the head up by unlocking the small tabs holding the base for the head, but I think it's a bit risky cause it could break and it only kind of works in a back or side profile
YES the ass tired section on my Earthrise Optimus doesn’t tab in well if at all anymore in alt mode. Thankfully he’s just sitting posed in robot mode on my shelf but still
Strange, I wonder what's causing this aging?
I have no need for yet another Cubetimus Prime, but it's nice to know that this mould is out there since if they stick a redeco of it in a multi-pack with a toy I actually want then I'll be able to buy it without issue, instead of my usual approach to multi-packs which is to skip it because it comes with a mould I absolutely don't want (like partsformerbee or anything with visible mushroom-pegs on the wheels) or one I already have and don't want to double-up on.
It wasn't a jet engine it was noah
I swear I remember him sitting next to it, but I guess I'm wrong.
This figure was a joy to customize
I can confirm that my Earthrise Prime no longer tabs in when in truck mode
Sorry to hear your's is decaying the same way.
Remember?
I’m ashamed to admit that the Optimus jumpscare got me😭
Yeah, I'm definitely getting this thing. As well as all the Mainline Rise of the Beasts figures (since there's only 9 of them in total, unless Hasbro decides to release more even though ROTB is out at this point).
I'm personally saving up for the studio series for this version of prime, but for a Voyager it's really nice. It's proportioned a little weird but other than that, looks good
I feel like End would have hated this but I like thus and I still want this figure.
I think it's the extra thick chrome paint on the battle mask tht makes the face feel gloopy. Which is kinda funny given some of that could have been blue tinted and given chromed eyes for no extra cost or minimal, at least.
That's part of it, but I also think the helmet looks much the same.
I love this figure!
It's just a lot of fun. I was hesitant to buy it, but it's great.
My Prime’s cab has never tabbed in as it should.
You forgot to unfold ER Prime's knees and tab in his elbows to them.
This is one of the best voyagers of the year
Quite possibly.
I think the jet engine your thinking of is that one brief moment at the end where Noah was on the back of his alt mode
Solid figure though
The size is the only real kinda deal breaker for me, plus I cant really find him anymore. If you're wondering why I didnt snatch him up, I wanted to wait til the movie came out to see if I like it before getting any figures of it except for the Studio Series Bumblebee because its Bumblebee, but if I ended up not liking the movie I wasn't going to bother with the figures. 3 viewings later I think it's safe to say I LOVE this movie, so the hunt begins again. I got mainline Rhinox and the core Arcee, I like em both pretty good you were right about that Rhinox, and someone on TFW2005 found a Studio Series Optimus at my nearest Target but of course it was gone by the time I went. The dude there said they should get some in tomorrow so fingers crossed! I'm glad this figure's good though, your positive reviews are such a treat!
I noticed that “attaching to the front wheels problem” too with my ER Prime, I just thought I had a bad QC copy since no one else seemed to ever mention it
Whilst I am excited for the Studio Series Buzzworthy Bumblebee ROTB Optimus Prime that I'm getting soon, this version has better shoulders.
Speaking of shoulders, the shoulders are significantly different from the Bumblebee version in the final film design, with the sides looking like the Studio Series version of both shoulders, and the top rectangle thing being removed.
Nearly jumped out my chair when earthrise prime turned 😂
6:02 mine has also had that problem but I might due to the heavy customizations I made to it
I think that jet engine at the end of primes truck was just noah using his booster.
For some reason, the most fun I've had with this guy is when I fold his head down. It's like 'BREAKING NEWS: PRIME LOSES HIS HEAD (literally)'
Corpsimus Pirme.
@@PerspectiveEnd Eh, I would't worry. He come back to life in 20 minutes.
weirdly enough I found two copies of this at my local Walmart and one had paint on the eyes and one didn't.
Whoops, bad form.
Unrelating to the figure in this review, but I curiously picked up my Earthrise Optimus in all of his chipped blue paint glory to see if he was suffering from the issue you mentioned in this video, and while the piece does still tab in, it's *notably* less firm and audible than it used to be.There used to be a satisfying snap, but now it's a very soft "thoop" for lack of better words.
So I think you might be right, there might be some defect in his design that somehow causes his bumper connection to become more unstable over time, presumably through plastic warping if I had to take a wild guess. It might be safe to assume this is an issue that will plague every figure using the Earthrise Optimus Prime mold.
Man that would be a weird way for a figure to age.
I'm hoping we just misplaced stuff in the transformation some how, though I don't know how that's possible.
you had me going there for a minute
Did you think I was about to say this is bad?
@@PerspectiveEnd yeah I was ready to jump in the comments and defend how much fun this thing is!
nice to see this figure getting the praise it deserves. Most people argue SS102 is better, but this has a cleaner ab crunch, better posing and is simply more fun for me.
I haven't gotten the SS yet, but I don't see it beating this. It's too fun.
I had the same problem with my earthrise Optimus prime, his legs won’t snap together anymore
The Legs? That's not quite the same problem, but I suppose you are saying yours is decaying as well.
5:59 the reason that happens is normally because the head is angled in a certian way during transformation, try checking that if you haven’t fixed the problem already
My SG Prime does have that issue with the front bumper not wanting to connect flush, except its only on one side which is still pretty annoying.
The mainline RotB Optimus is such a good figure, though my local Walmart priced it as a normal voyager ($40 ish + tax). I don't even use the dinky gun he comes with, I have him posed with the battlemaster Skullcruncher and Primal guns.
The other day I got the Earthspark deluxe Optimus and that is also a really well articulated figure, at least once you untab the hip assembly. You can get him in a wider range of poses once you do that. He does have a stupid huge backpack though.
I've developed a pretty sold theory around this figure and just how mainline toys are made in general. Since we know that the mainline toys are made for small kids, they probably don't have the same amount of budget as generations. Thus, the sparse paint and strange plastic. This lack in budget probably means that if the designers have to make 1 of the figures the runt of the litter. All of my local retailers do classifie this as a voyager, but its base price is usually £8-£10 (roughly $10-$12) cheaper than other voyagers
I get the size and the gun conplaints, but even with out that, it's like you said. An wonderfull figure (who in hands of a customizer, would look even better) .
Also, 6:04 maybe it's just me, but keeping this for halloween would been a better idea imo. Fit's the "frame" better you know 😅.
And as for the question of the video... Who is your favorite ROTB desighn and why?
The budget went into the pinned wheels, that's why it's a Voyager.
6:15
That was Noah creating the jet engine, not Optimus
In my memories, Noah is visibly sitting next to the engine.
That is waaaaay too expensive for a figure of that size, i agree. Still tempting tho lol. Great job as always!!
All I can say is, I'm not upset paying that.
@@PerspectiveEnd 🤣
Someone said they wanted someone's first Optimus Prime to be badass.
You arent alone, my ER prime doesnt like to stick in truck mode either. It also has a majorly loose head joint, but thats fixable
From siege to now there have been 22* “mainline” matrixes released, I believe. Because 86 Magnus had to come with his own matrix
That was a lot better than I'd imagined, I decided to hold off for the buzzworthy studio series version.
A lot of people have, I don't know that I even care to bother with it with this being so good.
The problem with lightpiping is somehow the plastics that were used in the 90s for it are gone. Those things BLAZED even the dark, and why people still hold a torch for light piping. We don't want the lightpiping you're complaining about. We want the so-neon-it-hurt-in-a-good-way lightpiping we saw at the end of G1 and in G2 and that was all over the Brave stuff in Japan. Lego has a similar issue with its really beautiful transparent neon green plastics just not existing the same way anymore. It's a materials issue, not a fundamental issue with the gimmick.
I mean I had 90s figures, like all the Beast Wars figures, and they were were I started hating it. I still remember Waspinator being weird and terrible to me.
6:04 I uploaded this template to the general channel on your discord
Thank you for your service.
My ER Prime is still holding up
Thanks for the data point, you are the first to respond.
6:08 I shit my pants the first time I saw that before I laughed like a fucking maniac. Honestly that is kinda cool yet also terrifying.
Honestly I’ve heard worser stories as I’ve heard that some people have had their break at the waist (Lazyeyebrow reviewer being the main one)
That part got a lot of people.
I've heard the Lazy Eyebrow broke the Siege one?
I love this optimus prime. Wish it was better scaled but it is an awesome figure
I think that the hand gun thing that the SS ROTB Optimus will come with would work well with this figure due to its size
Love this figure, it is just so fun. Wish it was a little bigger and had better painjob and a balljointed head, but asides from that its an absolute must have. I did a little blackwash on the grey areas and it is much better looking, very easy custom
This is THAT good? I would never thought that... I may give it a try.
I didn't expect this to be so good my self.
Are you going to do a Beachcomber review soon? The freaking environmentalist Transformer is pretty much a Micro Masterpiece to me.
great video and figure, but when will you do the sdcc revels. and yes it happened to my Earthrise prime
Man i really want this
Also percy you sith lord
I would say you could somehow turn those collection critiques into a new video series, but then you might be intruding on Bobby Skullface's territory
Man's got that 86 Hot Rod syndrome, but unlike that figure, this guy actually tried to be Voyager size, I mean it still failed, but at least it TRIED
5:55
mine doesn't have the same issue, however mine is really picky about how the head inside is positioned
try transforming him from robot to truck but leave the head and arms out, and see if the gap is still present, if it's not - the head inside was the issue
I have no idea if anyone else commented about this, I just skimmed a few, but I initially did have that problem you have with Earthrise Optimus, but I learned that there are some things that flip out at the knees which are supposed to help tab the torso in to become the cab. I noticed it looked like you didn't have them flipped out so I just wanted to let you know, that's the problem.
For the earthrise Optimus thing not snapping in, I got it like that straight out the box, first time I transformed him it wouldn't snap in
