Linke Rheinstrecke (Mainz to Koblenz) review ~ Train Sim World 4

  • Linke Rheinstrecke is one of only two German TSW routes set in 1990s. I like this route because of its time period, picturesque riverside scenery and the vintage electric locomotives that it comes with (namely the Deutsche Bundesbahn BR103 and BR110.3). The one thing I don't really like about this route is its linear nature, and the lack of the Mainz to Frankfurt am Main section (which was present on the original TS classic version).

    Lag spikes? No no no no. Impossible! I have been assured by many of DTG's white knights and even their own staff that this game runs perfectly at all times. It's just us that need to get our head's checked. Anyhow, my condolences for the loss of your hard earned 28NZD. DLC for this game should be running at around $10 for this outsourced shovelware. And even then I'd advise only buying it on sale and never day one. Anyhow, another nice video.

      Sarcastic humour. I like it.

      That's the thing that bothers me the most. Technically the game is an absolute dumpster fire, yet many DTGs fanboys will side step this issue by just blaming it on the Unreal engine. It's like the devs are hiring keyboard warriors to protect their laziness...

    • @StrikeEagle78
      @StrikeEagle78 Před měsícem +1

      @@taproot12 Yeah it's pretty odd the amount of brain damage their fanboys have to not see the obvious right in front of their eyes. I'm surprised Epic hasn't told them to calm the f down on blaming their problems on the unreal engine. They've been doing it since the release of TSW3. No other game running on this engine runs this bad. They're happy to slander another company's game engine to deflect from their cognitive deficiencies. Pathetic.

    I love your TSW Route-Reviews! And the intercity coaches which are hauled by BR 103 have been in service for over 50 years.

    I certainly have a bias for this route being set in the year I was born, goodness am I that old already? It is certainly a lovely scenic route through the Rhine Gorge as it is called between Bingen and Koblenz, and I often play the Scorpions song Rock you like a Hurricane between Bingen and Mainz when I am running at 160kph on the 103, as I seem to think of that for some reason. I would also reccommend the 'Linke Rheinstrecke Timetable: IR & SBB EC Coaches + Virtual Destinations' mod from Train Sim Community which gives you the IR and SBB coaches as well as the destinations on the board being extended. All it needs now is the BR 120, which I think may be that German Loco in the roadmap, hopefully I am right. Side note: TSG should do a 90s repaint of their 218 for this route and the Niddertalbahn

    • @TheTrainspotterFromTauranga
      @TheTrainspotterFromTauranga  Před měsícem +2

      I reckon a BR120 would be a nice addition for TSW, but I'm not holding my breath over that in case the German engine on the roadmap turns out to not be the BR120. As for Rock You Like a Hurricane, that's an absolute banger. It's kind-of like the German equivalent of Crazy Train, as weird as that sounds.

    3:57 These coaches are accurate, the colour scheme was introduced in 1987 to replace the IC79 colour scheme of said year, where first class coaches were painted in Purple red/ivory and second class coaches were painted in ocean blue/ivory. It’s a shame though that they didn’t include the Interregio paint scheme, of which in 1991 2 lines where newly set up and navigated along the Linke Rheinstrecke.

    8:18 Absolutely agree! Luzern to Sursee is such an embarrassment. I would have been so much better had they extended the route to Olten and added Inter Regio trains or freight services

    I will die on this hill : there was a perfect opertunity to have a 120 addon , it had a standart cab , the tech that was used later in the Ice 1 (the 120 being a testbed for the Drehstrom or AC electrics) , due to power transmission via magnetic tractionmotors it also had a full flexibility in its gearing basicly on the fly , making it suitable for both passenger and freight workings , wich it couldve spiced up the freight and interregio scene a lot more

    Frankfurt would have caused a ton of performance issues and people would go mad over it. When munchen already gives low performance, frankfurt would be even lower. In tsc, you got like 10 fps at frankfurt.

    The biggest let down here for me are the passangers not working on IC services. But maybe that's just issue on my computer.

    Hello! Would please give me your settings from Nvidia Control Panel for gaming and also if you have anything special in TSW 4 Settings? I have a HP Omen laptop with RTX 4050 and I wanna play TSW 4 on the best graphics, but it seems that I get pixelated shadows in windows and a bit blurry on bigger distances, but everything is set to ultra. Would you please help me with this?
