I have been editing landscape photos for a couple of years now. I thought I knew everything there was to know. Chris showed me I was wrong! I know I'll come back to this tutorial the next time I edit a landscape.

Thanks Chris - you can never do too many S2F examples.
One question: the 'golden rule' (or, guideline) is to leave sharpening as your last step in completing an image.
In this case. you did sharpen later, but then you went back and did additional sharpening (esp the trees).
In those instances, is it possible that you might over-sharpen and introduce artifacts ??
    Thx again.

Thanks Alan! I always think of sharpening in Lightroom as Input sharpening (step 1). Then step 2 is Export Sharpening (depending on image size, media type, etc.). So in Lightroom, it's mostly just getting it to look good visually. And with an image like this - high quality camera/capture, good exposure, etc. I'm not too concerned about artifacts. But, it if was underexposed I would keep a closer eye on that. Not sure if any of these ramblings are helpful. But at least that's my thought process. Thanks!
