It would be so fun to make this dream come back to life! A few years back I joined up with w couple friends to put together a trailer for a kids tv show. We even pitched it to Disney and were on target to pitch it to Netflix but then the team decided to call it quits. Truth be told, it broke my heart. I was so excited and hopeful about creating a meaningful show that would encourage and inspire...

I just bought this printer yesterday. The only thing it gulps ink when installing the primary setup cartridges. Ink levels dropped to about 1/3 , so only about 18 ml's left over to print. It almost immediately forces you to buy new cartridges, but I am going to use refillables/resetter and Inktec Powerchrome K3 ink combined with orginal Epson PK and MB ink. It prints perfectly on canvas rolls too, but be careful: the roll weight is important (not to heavy), otherwise the roll is not fed well into the printer, so I have to remove 1/3 of the roll in order to make roll lighter and the canvas is fed into the printer without any problem.
This was a great presentation with tons of information!! I would love to see more videos like this from you Chris🙏🏽🙏🏽
Awesome Chris! Thanks for this. Love hearing you teach. So nice to see you and LOVE the shots.
Thanks so much!
Chris thank you for passing on your knowledge, the exciting part of photography is we never stop learning. Cheers mate
thanks! and i couldn't agree more - always learning!
I love your work Chris, and thoroughly enjoy your teaching as well. I will say that many of the best portrait (and even headshot) photogs I have seen tend to have in common an engaging personality. Take Peter Hurley for example. His Head Shot Crew thing is wildly successful and he is a premier headshot photographer in NY. But if people think they can reproduce his style without his personality, they are kidding themselves. Sure his lighting setup is easy to replicate, but all the personality factors are unique to him. With you Chris, you are a happy feeling person who seems to always be smiling, yet not "in your face" like Hurley. Even your voice carries a smile. And I think that even with all your skills and experience, this is a major factor in your work. I know I can never be a Peter Hurley, because I am just not that person. But I can work on emulating your peaceful, happy calmness... I think. For me, that's the thing I need to focus on the most, so thanks for sharing your style with us.
Thank you so much for sharing!
thanks!
Loved it Thank you
thanks paul!
Chris this is such a valuable, honest, and helpful masterclass. Thank you!

Selamat malam kawanku. Terimakasih sudah berbagi video ini. Ijin menyimak kreasinya👍
Lots of great points and of course some wonderful portraits. I was interested particularly in what you said at the end about breathing and asking the subject to take a deep breath. Is that something you often do?
Yes! I do it 99% of the time I find that taking a deep breath is such a good way to ground and recenter… and perhaps it even allows the soul to drift into view.
How great is to see you back)) It's almost a year since the last video came out.
thanks!!!
Inspiring and practical presentation. Thanks from Australia. 🙏
thanks david! ohhh australia - i've always wanted to travel there!
Super clear, pragmatic, pedagogic, iterating, inspiring portrait tutorial full of essential info's and beautiful & high density human images. Mind blowing deconstruction, synthesis and presentation of the process. A must for any portrait photographer. Thank you so much Chris......... and Apple :-)

Great Work Chris...
thanks rick!

Brilliant..
This was fantastic! Thank you for this presentation 🔥
thanks much!
What a great presentation. That bride overlooking the mountain - wow. I liked how you analyzed it. Is it hard for you to go through this analysis in your head while actually shooting?
yes! it's all intuitive when you are shooting... trusting your inner voice. helping the negative voices quiet down enough to hear that inner truth
Excellent! Great presentation and explanations along with beautiful images - enjoyed immensely - thanks
thank you!!!
Thanks, Chris it's great to see your approach towards crafting a portrait and I've recently started connecting with the subject during the shoot. Having just a general chat about them, family and holidays really makes them relax, which results in a better portrait.
agreed! it's all about asking thoughtful questions and listening in a meaningful way. that fills up the portrait with so much more
Always a delight listening to your process, hopefully I can get doing more portraits and integrate this thought process everywhere 😸👍
thanks andy - much appreciated!
Chris, always great to hear you perspective on your craft. Awesome, thanks!
I appreciate that! Thank you!
much thanks!
Amazing presentation, Chris. Your teaching is getting more and more refined, yet packed with beautiful ideas and simple ways of understanding your message. LOVED this video!!! Thank you for doing what you do!
thanks so much!!!
So good. Thank you.
Thank you!
Thanks Chris, Master
You bet! 😊
Im sold, but this is 4 years old, do you you still use this printer or have an updated favorite? Same with the paper?
yep, that's still the latest and greatest! The other paper I am loving these days is the Legacy Etching. But basically all the legacy papers are delicious!!!
@@chris-orwig awesome! Thanks for the input and quick reply! Looking into doing my own prints here soon 😎🙌🏼
@@KinggsLens your going to love it!!!

Can p900 print on canvas?
Love your content Chris!!
Hi Chris...Great video. Its easy to see the joy you get from what you do! I have the P900 and love the prints I get. Recently my printer has slowed way down. Its taking 8min to print a simple 5x7 greeting card. Not cool when I have a large order to fill! Could you tell me if there is something I can do to speed it up and maintain the great quality? I have the correct paper and profile. Thanks so much, Suzanne
попробуйте смазать специальной смазкой для Epson, то по чему ездит каретка с головкой
what's wrong with real photos tho?
Hi Chis, how do you keep talking with a big smile on your face.
Chris, I love my Epson SC-900 printer. I have a question about the color profiles and media settings when using the Epson Print Layout feature. I was told if you set the media type and the color icc profiles in the Print Layout panel you don't need to set those setting on the printer. But if you print directly from Photoshop you would have to. Was I given the correct information? Thanks
Hi, is it also possible when import pictures to remove the dust spot? It's always on the same spot. It would be nice to import from the SD card, and directly move this spots.
Excellent review! I'm just worried because the ink is VERY expensive, and the original from Epson says in the specifications that it is only valid for 6 months after opening. I'm not going to print on a large scale, it would be economically unfeasible to make the complete switch during this period. Do you know if you can use it for longer without problems? Any idea how much? Maybe at least 1 year? Thanks!
Hi, thank you for your enthusiastic video. I read reports that the p900 mars fine art paper and that the roller also leaves indentations and is too flimsy for the weight of a roll. Could you comment on these issues ? Thanks!!
Great informative video, thank you
Ordering today.. thank you
This is a really good printer czcams.com/users/postUgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 . The reason I gave 4 stars for tech support (which I don't think this would classify as tech support) is because once you turn the printer on, it does require a little bit of start up time which may bother some who are in a hurry to quickly print something. To offset that though the printer prints very quickly. I would definitely purchase this printer again.
How do you print borderless printing?
"brought to you by epson"
Most people would have mentioned the high cost of printing with this printer as a con, what with 10 or 11 of the most expensive cartridges on the market today.
Thanks a lot! Very helpful.
I just purchased this printer. My Epson Stylus 3800 finally gave up the ghost after 16 years of exquisite printing. I'm a casual photographer, a designer, an architect and artist, so I use the printer to print architectural drawings at C-size (17x22), renderings, photos from my cell and DSLR and hand drawn sketches. For me this printer and what Epson offers suits my needs very well. I've used other brands but the versatility and amazing quality of prints is unmatched in my opinion. Also I keep a digital library of images but the primary purpose of my library is to allow me to select which images to print and printing with the P900 is truly a joy! Thanks for the video!
