As ridiculous as it sounds, I wouldnt really mind it. All these characters deserved a second chance at a better life ;-;

I don't think Nishiki will come back because his voice actor is Ichiban's VA now, and I think Tachibana's face/voice actor is expensive and busy.

For English viewers I guess it makes sense cuz the interview of the Yakuza VA are not in English. But Kashiwagi being alive was foreshadowed waaaaay back in the development of Yakuza Ishin from the interview with kashiwagi’s VA. He himself though he was dead but the producer of yakuza said “ if they don’t show a grave nor mentions of being dead, there’s the likely hood of the characters not being dead”
RGG is always one set ahead of everyone. My respect for them doubled with the release of yakuza 7. I love y7 so much

@@Hunterese123 Daigo can be surprisingly soft, especially if he owes oerson. If Kashiwagi was in coma for some years and then awoke in the middle of, say, Yakuza 4 or Yakuza 5 mess 6th chairman could easily just let him go.

I would love to see a yakuza game where we can play as Kashiwagi in his early days.
Nah, I see two possibilities for Yakuza Origins first.
1. Story told from the side of the Proto-Jingweon being pushed out of Little Asia by Dojima/Kazama/Shinada + possibly young Kashiwagi/Kuze/Amano/Shibusawa. Stars someone who can pull off being Ryuji's dad (who has to perish or Kashiwagi his way out of Kamurocho).
2. We going back to the 70s as Kuze. Every. Fight. Is. Pledge of Demon. (I prefer 1, but I could totally see Kiryu's whetstone (ignoring Majima who already has a game and only played that role in a remake really) getting a game before Kashiwagi, his oath-uncle).
You really need a lead who talks with fist. Ichiban and Yagami talk, but like the fist as a solution, Kazuma let's fist talk when he can't be bothered talking, Majima loves fist (or knife) especially against those stronger, Saejima trust fist.
Akiyama is an odd one, true, but kick-boy beats to his own drum (and also doesn't like using fist as much as foot). Anyone who wants to actually run a family needs a different type of game structure to work - they should be more strategy games (if RGG pivot successfully to the RTS genre, they are stupid good at what they do, running three genres at the same time is silly).
You'd have to get the Total War guys in on it (because SEGA), and I don't trust them not to mess it up.

Kashiwagi founded a small organization called HLA in Y3 that specifically tasked on taking care of ex-yakuza so that they can have new identity and new life. It's possible that the HLA took care of Kashiwagi after the shootout in Y3.

Honestly, it's probably for the better that Kashiwagi is lying low. I hate the thought of him getting killed in Y5 by Aizawa, like all the other patriarchs. Heck, the Tojo clan seems to lose patriarchs literally every week, lmao. Anyway, Kashiwagi deserves this peaceful life. Daigo probably knows, yet leaves him be.
Otherwise the Tojo Clan was just falling apart year by year, the patriarchs were selling each other out or doing anything trying to be the next chairman

Considering Majima was 31 when he's already the captain of Shimano family which was the one of the second rank families, maybe Kashiwagi was in his late 20s or early 30s because he was the captain of Kazama family which was the one of the third-rank families back then. So it's natural he's around 60 cause Kiryu is 51 years old in yakuza 7.

I think it's funny that people are getting so pissed about characters like Lau and kashiwagi being brought back for this game. The entire game is a near complete departure in tone than the rest, it's alot less serious and its at least self aware about this instead of trying to make something completely fucking ridiculous out to be dramatic and sad like kaoru and kiryu tongue punching eachothers voice boxes right after kiryu beat her only relative to fucking death and then uncessarily waiting to die by bomb when they could've all shut the fuck up and got on the copter together.
I would much rather a goofy game have goofy and stupid plot points than a game that carries itself like a fucking hard boiled gangster novel written by a 12 year old boy who's only idea of exciting includes beating people up ripping your shirt off and making out.
I love this series, I love it's characters but you seriously can't sit there and complain about this when half of you think y2 was the best game in the series
