Hi Mason. After installing the gear housing, and measure “rack stroke” on both sides of the shaft to be even. Both sides should measure 68.5mm - measuring from the end of the rack to the end of the part where the tie rod end connect.
Did you just hammer out the inner washer that contacts the the inner seal?
No, I utilized a homemade L-shaped puller. Once I removed the inner seal with the puller, the washer (center bushing) easily slides out due to gravity. Ensure not to scratch the inner surface of the rack when extracting the seal.
