"There Will Be Blues" at BB's Lawnside BBQ in Kansas City

Oh yes! "There was Blues!" This is just one song from an amazing night of blues in celebration of the 94th birthday of legendary bluesman Little Hatch. "The Hatchlings," 14 musicians took the stage that night, blending into one seamless, morphing band. The drummer, C. Jaisson H. Taylor played for more than 3 1/2 hours without ever leaving his seat.
Alice​'s birthday usually falls during the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP)​ Annual Leadership Conference. This year was in Kansas City so naturally Alice's Birthday involved "Blues, Brews and B.B.'s Lawnside BarB-Q​. Alice and I invited 5 fellow fundraisers from around the world to join us in celebrating her birthday.
So lucky that it was a night of musical tribute recognizing another birthday, that of legendary bluesman "Little Hatch." We were blown away to learn that 14 of his former bandmates and fellow musicians were coming together to form "The Hatchlings" and play in his memory. We couldn't tear ourselves away and by the time the music came to a close it was just us and Little Hatch's musical family shutting down the joint.
