Bro, Kid was not strong. He only used his devil fruit. He didn't even learn Haki. Even Luffy, after the two-year time skip, had better Haki than Kid does now. And even Luffy got one-shotted by Kaido. Luffy had future sight, great armament Haki, and great Conqueror's Haki-not the advanced ones at the beginning, but it was still great.

This episode is by far my favorite episode. Shanks just prove this to us why he's one of the strongest character with no devil fruit with his wifi haki completely destroyed kid pirates with one shot
To help clarify a bit for the reason why right before Shanks hit Kid with Divine Departure (which I still think is cool that Shanks learned Roger's slash attack) he appeared in an Aura of a Red Griffin, the name of Shank's Saber-sword is called Gryphon {there are different name-spelling iteration-variations of the mythical eagle-lion beast, but they all mean the same}
Wrong. Luffy doesn't make alliances with people who will betray him. Luffy doesn't go around killing people who laugh at his dream. Luffy actually focused on haki in his timeskip and honed it to satisfactory levels before entering new world Luffy said he will beat kaido and he did it. Kidd said he will take kaido's head but then shifted to big mom. Luffy makes people help him due to his natural charisma. Kidd literally acts haughty and threatens everyone so no one can help him or follow him aside from his crew. Luffy literally obtained a grand fleet by saving dressrosa because those people saw him as a leader. People of dressrosa literally went against navy to protect luffy. Kidd can never do that with the personality he has.

I remember a comparison I saw when this first came out in the manga. There was a comparison between Usopp back in Sabaody Island when they faced Kizaru that was about to kill Zoro. Usopp, even though he can't hit or do anything about Kizaru still managed to stand up againts him and fired his shots, while Kid's crew only begged for their captain's life. This is how you know how great the difference is between Luffy's crew and Kid's crew.
Don't even worry about not catching the future sight, that one got a lot of people. Even those of us who are caught up in the manga. It wasn't the clearest visual but the misdirect made it more intense. Shanks is considered a master of haki. No one else could have done that Wi-Fi haki, for instance, so him having that powerful of future site is within character. The hallucination after was an interesting touch. Toei did well with this one. Kid - he's not weak, but he's foolish and cocky. And now waterlogged. Next week isn't going to be as intense as this one but it's still not going to slow down.

YESSSS!!!!! One of my most anticipated showdowns!!! Or slaughter rather. When this came out in the manga, Eustass Captain Kidd famously earned his nickname, "Useless Captain Mid", or my personal favorite, "Under D. Sea"🤣🤣
They didn't show it in the anime, but in Shank's sight of the future, the people hit by Kid's Damned Punk were eviscerated. They were bisected and appeared to be disintegrating. I think we underestimate the strength of Damned Punk only because our first time seeing it hit someone, that person happened to be one of the tankiest people in the verse. Big Mom was truly built different.
I also hadn't realized that this was Shanks using Advanced Observation Haki to see into the future, I only realized when I saw that the ships were still in front when Kid was preparing to use his attack for the "second" time as well. 😅 In my head, the last time I saw them use advanced Observation Haki was when Luffy was fighting Katakuri and it was different there, here the way they did it was a very good choice because you really think Kid fired the attack (I don't know if in the manga is like that, it probably is)

Shanks' saw a whole movie in future. His future sight is probably 30 sec- 1 min. I mean i wasnt surprised at all. I already knew he would have future sight if luffy and kaido have it.
The big difference with Luffy and Kid is Luffy will never ask his crew to die with him to reach his dreams. Kid did and got a bit cocky so this is good for his growth to get humbled before he continues his journey if he and his crew is still alive.

the "bird" that we see before shanks uses divine departure is a gryphon, the name of his sword. i think its a haki manifestation because the bird shows up, then shanks jumps in from far away
when the rest of the kid pirates got knocked from the conquerors haki that was a result of how strong the haki in the attack was, also you can see killer running to kid in of the shot in the bottom left, also there is a shot of a sword breaking, that's killer's you can see his face's reflection.

So Kidd's attack (Shanks observation haki) was indeed animated by Akihiro Ota (You were right about him being present in Sanji's fight), Shanks divine departure was animated by Tu (Chinese animator who animated Shanks attack in Film red too) and lastly Giants attack was animated by the one n only Vincent Chansard

When this came out in the manga, Eustass Captain Kidd famously earned his nickname, "Useless Captain Mid", or my personal favorite, "Under D. Sea"🤣🤣
They didn't show it in the anime, but in Shank's sight of the future, the people hit by Kid's Damned Punk were eviscerated. They were bisected and appeared to be disintegrating. I think we underestimate the strength of Damned Punk only because our first time seeing it hit someone, that person happened to be one of the tankiest people in the verse. Big Mom was truly built different.
I also hadn't realized that this was Shanks using Advanced Observation Haki to see into the future, I only realized when I saw that the ships were still in front when Kid was preparing to use his attack for the "second" time as well. 😅
In my head, the last time I saw them use advanced Observation Haki was when Luffy was fighting Katakuri and it was different there, here the way they did it was a very good choice because you really think Kid fired the attack (I don't know if in the manga is like that, it probably is)

The big difference with Luffy and Kid is Luffy will never ask his crew to die with him to reach his dreams. Kid did and got a bit cocky so this is good for his growth to get humbled before he continues his journey if he and his crew is still alive.

the "bird" that we see before shanks uses divine departure is a gryphon, the name of his sword. i think its a haki manifestation because the bird shows up, then shanks jumps in from far away
