FORD F100 LOWERING REAR SUSPENSION

Continuing my low budget Ford F100 build, I complete the job of lowering the rear suspension and finally get the truck back on its wheels! In the back at least... The change in ride height is more than 6 inches.

Good idea to mount the engine and transmission first. Your pinion angle will change but not a lot. You may also find your driveshaft length needs slight modification. You may need shorter shock absorbers also shocks work best when with the complete but empty truck weight on the springs and the shocks are mid stroke in their travel.

I have 1972 f100 and I'm a one man garage too. I was observing you video because I want to drop it from the rear and front. It looks very simple but I'm 70 years old I believe i would need some help lifting the rear diff. Thanks for sharing your video.

If you have a good jack and you just take it slowly, you should be able to do it. Otherwise find a youngster to help you 😁

You need to turn that rear leaf bolt around or it will gouge out the leaf mount when in travel.

You need a pinch rod an your line up would go a lot faster

Looking back i thinking of your radius arms do you think it would been easier to cut the bolt off and drill it out. Not criticism just would it have been easier? Hindsight if you were to do again

Easiest way would probably be to just get another one! 😅 Drilling it out would also work. If you have the right size drill bit...

I have cnotch the rear ill put diff on top of spring the diff is a 14 bolt norrow duelly if not enough buy shackles
