So ridiculous to advertise this as a beginner model and suggest it be flown indoors around people. The product is nice, but the marketing is awful for RC.
meh Exactly my point. There are many pros that could fly that gracefully over people but common sense tells you not to for one but accidents do happen.Also the marketing part of it just digs a hole deeper for us Hobbyists with FAA.
Joe Bigornia Yes, I subscribe to alanszabojr and I'd let him fly over my baby. I fly quite a bit and I still get disoriented or miss a control sometimes. No way I'd fly in a crowded area like that. If you hit a wall or ceiling 2+ pounds of hard plastic and smaller parts could be speeding for people's heads and faces. The last thing I want to do is cause someone a traumatic brain injury or face disfigurement.

Watching this ad after flying my Mavic Pro 2 today...lol. I do have a Phantom 3 Pro and it's still a great drone. The difference between the two isn't totally "mindblowing" or "game-changing" - but you can see the evolution in progress, which is great.
Will the DJI Phantom 3 come with a pair of Black Hipster Glasses and a Beard or do I have to buy these items separately?

The Wedding Photographer who flies that unit during a wedding ceremony... Inside a Church.. will have had his/her last pro gig... not even close to something which "should" be done with it... Love the quad though!

+GranVlog Get permission... go into an empty sanctuary... sit in one of the pews that the unit will be flying over.. listen to it and feel that breeze... the video is FANTASTIC.. but those wind blown women will hate you :) I'm glad you wouldn't do it yourself... people are angry enough that shutters have to "click" during a ceremony... it's a nice "idea" just not practical in my opinion. An outdoor wedding? maybe... even then, it's like a swarm of bees...

I dont think that is the full version of lightbridge. The video will probably have big delay and like 60m range.
But the inspire still looks 10X cooler. So its got that going for it.

My Inspire 1 is scheduled to arrive 4/13. Based on what I hear over the next 5 days, I'll either be returning it immediately or keeping it, knowing that if I crash or lose it I will be replacing it with the Phantom 3. Biggest thing for me is the ability to fly indoors. Quite honestly I'll probably buy a Phantom 3 once the Inspire pays for itself, the price point is just too reasonable.
If you have an inspire coming keep it! Still the best machine

I'm seriously considering returning it. I have a Phantom Vision that I've been using to learn to fly. I feel very comfortable with the Phantom platform. But I still must admit I love the form factor of the Inspire.
The key for me is how much rental and how much more whoa factor I'll get with the Inspire vs the Phantom 3.
Honestly in a couple of months I'll probably buy a Phantom 3 for my more personal and lower budgeted gigs.
You'd be surprised how little Producers/Directors actually know. I'm certain they'll pay double rental for a bigger and slicker looking machine.

Richie Meeuwsen I get it! But I've learned in business its not what you spend but what you make. Another issue is that in a minute the market is going to be flooded with P3, having an Inspire will separate me from that pack. I'll just have to position myself in the market and make my higher cost make sense for the client. I'm sure both drones will pay for themselves either way. And like I said I'll get a P3 eventually just because the price point is so low.

What i saw out of this commercial is we put cheaper stuff into the new Phantom 3 so we can sell you a better camera for less. What they should of advertised that would help them get more buyers is, "we have improved our customer service"

Bosun Oshunluyi They look like the same battery, the only difference appeared to be the onboard electronics and lower shell. Check out their website to find more info or visit @1133098 for release and prices, but remember, DJI may also announce a new Phantom 2 as well. Happy flying!

I'm about to order a Dji Phantom 3 advanced this week, I plan on spending hours in the simulator before flying as this is my first drone. I can't wait, I'm so excited.

+Milan Patel has I like revised crafts without bugs. just returned my p3a and got a p3p for much cheaper then the launch price and with much less risk. the phantom 4 will be more expensive, around the 2k range, to much for me.
Make sure to read the manual...a few times over.
The phantom4 actually doesn't have that many improvements.
The quality of the filming looks amazing, that will be my next drone, the Phantom 3 professional.

A message to DJI: We really don't care about 'man and machine', or aluminium pulled out of the ground (you can't, in any event), and all that. We just want to see the picture quality. The final result and the reason to buy are the same thing.
Damn, finally a less than a 100º FOV! Not that wide angle curved-twisted crappy footage that you get from GoPro and other camera that is used in some drones. I will for sure buy this... mmmm, sadly this doesn't have a screen camera, cause I hate the WiFi delay reception from the drone to the screen/smartphone ...

BTW, I am a CFII and A&P and have flown UAVs since the inception the Phantom I. Much more dependable now and a lot due to guys like alishanmao. Good luck to all you RC buffs.

i am one of the dji phantom 3 professional user.. proud to be one of dji user.
Just a warning for everyone, drones aren't allowed to be flown in any U.S. national park or wilderness areas. I'm not sure if there are any "special" exceptions (or licensing fees) for flying in national parks, but I do know that it is illegal in wilderness areas (with no exceptions). You can face a pretty big fine if caught, whether by a ranger or online/after-the-fact. Just a thing to keep in mind.
I'll be getting a drone soon; but, while I do wish I could bring it into the wilderness, I get why those laws are set in place. It is to preserve the special wilderness character and to not disturb other people and wildlife. When people go into the wilderness, they go in there to get away from other people and loud sounds. It also stems from the clause stating "no motorized equipment in wilderness." (i.e. same reason bikes and chainsaws aren't allowed on wilderness trails.)
So when flying, be sure to check whether the area you're flying in is legal or not.
This is really cool, but will the ground station update work with the Phantom 2 Vision Plus?

***** I'm having an FPV issue with clarity of signal but I've ordered new antennas and wont take it to the doctor until I've tried those out. But it's a robust creature and actually seems to be fine.

The one thing thats a game changer from the inspire 1 to the phantom 3 that i just can't get pass is the payload as well is it's durability, the inspire 1 can and will be moving to heavier cameras and other inspire 1 dji cameras that will allow you to integrate other forms of cameras. With the phantom 3 and might i say it looks great! and for the money seems very fair but if your looking to capture Pro photography or film making the copter must be able to adjust in its functional abilities and the Phantom 3 will be much less able to do so. P.S i guess the question is, is it worth it to you if you have the ability to fork over $3,000 and for me its yes but i can understand the battle of not being able to or not feeling like its worth it.
Well then, their IS still a reason to buy the Inspire :)
Michael Mystro Pierce I dumped about $4,000 into my P2 in the last 6 months. Compare the P3 to the Inspire and the P3 is mush more steady and stable for filming. The P3 has better GPS and software. It only has a 1 meter hover accuracy compared to a 2.5 meter on the Inspire. That is a huge difference in how steady the shots will be. And I film in 4K with a Gopro 4 black my work makes it's way onto the big screen and TV. And my unit is not as good as the P3. What kills me is the batteries (I have $1000 worth for P2) will not swap over.
Double and triple ouch on the P2. But everyone has to start somewhere, and you are surely ahead of the game. Everyone else to wait a month - and who knows what issues there may be with the P3.

For package and features the price is right. For anyone with no time to build one perfect aerial video platform, this is a simple solution. In the RC hobby whenever I try and start building something the setbacks, crashes, repairs and upgrades make it twice or thrice expensive compared to enjoying a simply ready made solution. This is in short a perfect gadget for social media applications.

I'm going to be getting this drone soon. As a Burmese, I couldn't be more proud that DJI has used Bagan and Sule Pagoda in their promotion of their product. They could've used other wonders and monuments but I'm pinching myself they chose monuments so close to home. Good job DJI. You guys rock! I just wanted to know, is there an affiliation with Burma and DJI? When I was holidaying there 2 months ago, I used to see DJI ads on Facebook with Burmese affiliated text. Just really interested in knowing :)

It's interesting for the duration of the battery, the camera doesn't impress that the gopro3 can record but in 4k and say that the receipt of the gps this enhanced to see if it is true, my phantom 2, I have to do a reset often, greetings!!
