  • Take 2!! Mating queens out of 2 frame splits in a 5 frame nucleus colony. The flow has currently just completely shut off here in Michigan. With all of the rain we haver been getting, the bees haven't been able to get out and collect nectar before it is washed away by the rain! So 2 frame splits it is, let's see. how this goes!!!
Also.. I have started a new membership on the channel called the Hive Mind! I started this membership to give you a behind the scenes look at what it is truly like learning and growing with beekeeping as we expand our apiary. All proceeds go towards helping support our growth and buying more equipment. I am beyond thankful for how far we have come and it is all thanks to YOU for supporting my journey these last few years!

They have those spiders in the Ozarks too! They do look crazy, but I dig spiders. I once had 36 tarantulas in my apartment. 😂

I don't get it. Is it so difficult to get plastic foil in US ? You use plastic everywhere but nobody wants to put it between the insulated covers and the frames.

Most experts say they know they are queenless within 45 minutes . I would look for cells before you add cells or queens

By the time they were done they could without problems start from the first nuck and put cells in. It would actually help a little bit more to prevent drifting. The only thing.. the cells in this situation should be placed in the comb in the brood

Are you suggesting feeding all bees this time of year?

This year had sucked for the bees. I'm in central Illinois and I've been feeding every new colony and I'm about to start feeding every colony. Little to no nectar flow and very little pollen coming in.

Hey do u want any brand new equipment really REALLY cheap? I got deep boxes , some mediums, frames & plastic waxed foundations, screened bottoms w inserts & telescoping top cover with metal cover & inner covers.. basically a double deep hive with a medium +frames & foundations & everything else I listed for $110 + I throw in a excluder, hive tool, & smoker with each hive purchase...it's not homemade equipment, it's dovetail joints on boxes. I can send u pics if interested. I'm just in Ohio 20 min south of Cleveland.
