Passed yesterday, these videos are a godsend. Your videos made me much more awareness about the correct way to drive.
For anybody with their test booked, ill offer some quick advice.
For starters, ignore the absolute BS people tell you. I was told i wouldnt pass if i didnt take the test in my instructors car as it "looks better" if i dont drive my own car.
Study the theory, but focus more on actual driving practise. My theory lasted about 1 minute, dont stress but obviously its more important to make a good impression than getting the marks.
Dan was right, they asked me about the rules of a yellow box. This seems very common, remember- no stopping in it unless youre turning right or can clear it and arent impeding other traffic.
Remember when doing the reverse , if you adjust the mirror- fix it once the turn is completed! Funny enough, my examiner fixed it for me. Dont get too wrapped up in the turning & forget your observations.
Practice turning right at a junction and rolling up to the middle. When the oncoming traffic is safe, proceed with observations. For my test, i went through about 3 of these junctions.

I passed my driving test on the 4th go at Wilton, Cork. The day before I passed my driving test I thought I would fail it again and that I was a "cursed" driver. I was about to cancel it and wait another 6-8 weeks for another re-test... so glad I didn't! Was even taken on a difficult route that people are known to fail on. Very proud of myself. I will still continue to watch your videos! Thank you for the tips :-)

In Finglas I got 9 marks (8 is a maximum). I am sure examiner just did not want allow me to pass...

Yes I can never understand why a qualified instructor would say only indicate if someone will see you, how do we know that Noone is around especially with all the blind spots at the front and back. Best of luck with the driving.
@@DaneTygheletsdrive I have my stage 3 ADI test in 3 weeks. So I quickly picked up what not to take seriously as the advice from my Advanced driving trainer. Also a good idea to choose an instructor who regularly updates their training to pass onto their pupils. Not just to pass a check test in my opinion. You sir, a gent who is definitely a super instructor. My daughter passed her driving test in March after I recommended your channel. Thank you 😁🙌

Two years ago since I passed my test, and still watch your videos Dane, it's amazing the amount of things you still learn. Just because a person has a full licence, doesn't mean that they know everything. I passed my test with just 2 minors, one for doing 30 kmh in a 50 and one for spending too long looking to the right at a roundabout....

Could be either, grade 1 if you only get 2 wrong but grade 2 if you get 3 or more wrong. You can't fail on the theory alone 😊

Would be a good idea to film lesson/mock tests as there are very big channels in the uk that do this and none that I'm aware of in Ireland?. would be very helpful and informative (and would grow ur channel exponentially also) I certainly would love it

@@DaneTygheletsdrive I know one of the biggest UK driving channels has his cameras all setup in the car which i'm pretty sure you do too? I'm pretty sure he lets people do a mock test with him for free once they allow him to record it and upload it to his channel for a video, I'm sure you could monetize the video to make the money back which you would've made from charging the person for the mock test, your channel would more than likely blow up since nobody in Ireland is doing this that i'm aware of?

I do have a question that maybe you could expand on.
My biggest dread is turning from a major road onto a minor.
I’m always afraid that I’m slowing down too early and showing hesitation or lack of progression when I have to wait for oncoming traffic to pass.
However, if there is no oncoming traffic I end up turning at an excessive speed!
And finally, in order to make sure I don’t undercut the turn I sometimes end up performing a swan neck!
I’d love if you could do something in depth on the topic of coming from a major road into a minor.

These 2 videos are on progress and turning right and they should help. To avoid a Swan neck try looking into the road before you turn.

When you’re at the point where you know you’re a good driver but need to build up your common sense as a driver, consult a Great Dane !

I just applied for my millionth driving test. I am in that 4,685 people in Ireland driving on learner permits many years after being issued with one!! I have been driving for 18 years now. My latest driving instructor says I am a good driver but I just go to pieces in the driving test. My nerves!! But Dane's videos are helping me so much because he is so calm and explains everything so well. Thank you, Dane!! I will be watching your videos religiously until I pass that test!!!

Do you know Dane if it is still ok with me to do it as I am not an essential worker, but my learner permit will be expired only a week after 27th. Also level 5 will be over only after 27th too
I’ve been booked it since early July
The RSA are leaving it up to the individual to decide if they are an essential worker, they won't be asking for identification so you should be fine.

ACCOUNT 1890 40 60 40. It may take a while to get through to the operator, but once you’re in just say you want to arrange a short notice driving test. You might get lucky if someone recently cancelled in the test centre that you’ve applied for. Best of luck
