Great job with the bed!
One thought i had for someone else attempthing this build: @ 3:47 when you were worried about lining the hinges up correctly, you could have actually drilled those holes before assembling the frame. Take the two end boards, gang them together and drill the holes completely through both boards at once like you did when you were lining up the holes for the nightstand. That way you have exactly the same positioning without having to measure at all. As Chris Schwarz said on the Woodwright's Shop "Measurement is the enemy of accuracy..."
Nice to see a genuine craftsmanship. Excellent narration
Great job
Brilliant use of boat swivel seats! NEVER THOUGHT of it! Been thinking about building one of these. Saves almost $200 on hardware!
Oh, My God, it looks great I just saw Glen's video and now with yours, I know I have to build one wow what has he started! Thank you for sharing!!
I saw all the proces! you did a awesome perfect job! Well done, Justin!
That's absolutely great... I can't wait to do mine❤❤❤ and I'll be using your video... thanks for the clip!!
I have bed envy - Fantastic Job...and I am glad you love your little brother and only kept him in the bed for 2 hrs ! Thank you for sharing.
Nice work. Love that you did the build using the basic tools!
Thank you for making this video. A large effort and you nailed it. I'm inspired to use a design similar to this in a motorhome we plan to buy and live in. Will probably have it designed and built by a carpenter shop or motorhome refitter but your video is a great concept piece to start from as well as a jump start for the carpenter we get to do it.
All the best.
This was a great job following DIY Creator. You did a great job modifying it to your size and space.
Great job. You handled the project like a professional and can be justifiably proud.
I am starting to get back into making projects happen myself. Love this bed would love to make my son one.
This was AWESOME!!! I plan on starting my murphy bed late Fall. This really helped especially the boat swivel and the gas pistons.
Thanks for sharing your work and results here. It helped me plan my own project and gave me some ideas, as well as possibly saved me some trouble. Great stuff!
Great job man.Im planning on making one for my son.It will be a single loft bed that folds up width wise.Im glad I found this video because I didn't think about the boat swivels before. Thanks for making the video.
My favorite parts are the Powerblocks as the miter saw measurement stop and the tote sawhorses. :) Also makes me want a pocket hole jig and a brad nailer.
Cool build. Now off to watch Glen. :)
Thanks for sharing that man! That was awesome. I'm thinking of building one myself using an old queen size frame I have and some bookshelves. I'll definitely come back and look at your video and the videos you sited.
Tganls for sharing Justin. Sometime I''m going to construct one also. I love the simplicity. No auto hinges, cheaper for a poor man.
Amazing job x thankyou, im so glad i found your tuturiol, this is exactly what i hope to do in our guest room.
Nice build. "I only locked him in there for a couple of hours!" lol 🤣😂👍
I love seeing all of the FT foamies around your work space.
MerrixsOutdoors Thanks, I love building and flying their planes!
Lol... I had just watched Glenn's build on my pc before dinner. I wanted to show my wife, so I went to look it up on my phone so I could cast it to our TV downstairs. I came across yours instead. I think between your video and Glenn's, I should have enough info to attempt this project. We've been wanting to do a murphy bed for some time, and I think these two videos are the best I've seen, and I've been looking around quite a bit!
You did great. Your brother too. And yes love Glenn and his DIY channel
Thank you very much dude for teaching us how to build a wallbed! Very nice job, congratulations!
I loved the Peter Sripol plane int he background of the intro!
Great job. I'm truly impressed.
Good build! I dig watching videos building things in the way most of us do..without a full size shop and no commercial dust collecting system. Hah. Keep it up
Impressive! This is what I need for my tiny house. Loved the part you said "I only locked him in there for a couple hours"! LMAO!
Congratulations on a great job done. took lots of time and money to, but you did it and the best part of it is that you enjoyed.
It was fun to watch you build (make) it.
will share the video from the Dominican Republic Guillermo, keep it up.
Excellent build! Thanks for sharing it.
I generally make it a rule never to take advice from someone who wear a cap backwards but I watched the video and have to say I was impressed.
I'm looking for a solution for my daughters studio and I like this build.
Really nice build. Well done!
Well done Justin saw something very informative here. Thank you.
Looks great! It really is a good feeling to sleep on something you made!
That looks hella awesome. I wish I had the tools and space you did. I would totally try to recreate this.
Awesome! Thank you for your time in teaching. God bless you.
Dude great build. really enjoyed the video. Thinking of building one myself for my guest room so we can have a work out area when no one is visiting.
Who are like me watch the whole video and didn't have the equipment but still enjoy watching it...
Thats bs man u need to get the equipement for the job.dont u think its about time
Do urself a favor man.
"Get the tools"
And get the right tools for the right job.
Just a lil peice of advice for ya.
From someone with experience with jobs and tools and stuff
Take care bubba
👋
Love the Guinea Pig 😉 love FT too.
Came here to see the bed build, rewarded by seeing the FliteTest plane in the first shot ;) Awesome!
yes measure twice cut once.thanks for sharing
Great job Justin!
Looks amazing. You did a wonderful job. I've watched both yours and the DIY Creators video, and I plan on using these designs for my own bed soon.
Its a tough build, but very rewarding when its finished! Glen is a great teacher, I really enjoy all of his builds.
Nice project - I think that either a fold up or fold down table under the bed would make it more functionally useful when the bed is not being used. Anyway, cool project 👍🏻
Awesome job. I need to make one of these for my cabin
Looks Amazing! Great Job!!
Very nice! It was good to see a whole project using pocket screws. I’ve not yet made the investment in the jigs, though I have watched several of the Kreg videos. I was taught old-school methods by my dad and spent a lot of time doing dowel joinery. I do have a small biscuit joiner, but haven’t used it much. It just doesn’t seem as sturdy as dowelled and glued construction.
Very nice job. You should be proud of that build.
Good job my friend, looks great, keep up the fun videos and have a blessed week.
Dale
Good build. Thanks for sharing!
Great build dude!
it came out very good , I'll put it on practice !
Have to admit you did a great job and did it without any expensive tools and made it on a budget. The only thing I would do different is to put 2 supports or a longer piece to support the side that you cut that falls off. This prevents the wood cutoff piece from scarring when it falls off so you can save for another project possibly. Love the blooper clips. I usually measure 3 times and cut once. lol Other than that nice job!
Nice build, and good editing.
Well done! I've always thought that Murphy beds were very cool. Maybe someday I'll get the opportunity to build one as well.
Awesome build!
Awesome job on the bed! The FT Guinea in the back is what’s up!!
What a great job. Well done.
looks beautiful. well made
awesome build it came out so well!!!
It is very nice of you to go to so much trouble for your visitors' comfort!
Great bed and great video! Thanks for sharing!
Hey Justin, nice build on the Murphy bed i also watched that video of Glens a while ago ad liked the build i have a couple of tip fo you too i was a professional Woodworker for over 20 years as well as it being a passion and my hobby so i saw a couple of things that i thought will make you life easier and perhaps safer if you built yourself 2 plywood boxes simple pocket screw construction to hold your mitre saw and table saw off the floor you can stand and use them instead of kneeling or leaning over them on the floor that not only makes it. Easier on your back but it gives you a way better position to “site” your cuts and or move out of the way for a kickback or some other harmful possibility it also keeps your face and mostly eyes in a much safer position one other thing that you would be amazed at is to replace your air hose with a silicone one from Home Depot. Or Amazon so that you aren’t constantly fighting the springing Of the coil hose those are excellent in the right application but. You will find its so much better having just a plain hose get one like a 50 footer and you could trim out a house or whatever without. Needing to move the compressor so much plus ive seen guys put so. Much tension on the coil ones they get the nail gun flying out of their hands oh and be extra careful when having the lumberyard or box store cutting your material because their saws are very often badly calibrated and /or the person doing the cutting just doesn’t give a crap i know we use the service to make it easier to haul or recut when we get it to our shop etc if you want to get fancy on your saw cabinets you could add doors and drawers and even add lockable casters to move them around ? The height is really up to whatever you feel comfortable and safe at 34 inches off the floor is a standard countertop height that the majority of kitchen counters and work stations are usually set at overall i was pretty impressed with your build most guys using pocket. Screw construction mess up a couple of parts in the first few builds or simply forget a side you look like you have a natural talent on seeing the project thru all of the steps one more tid bit is Woodworking i general is all about repetitive joinery and construction if you take the time to analyze your completed project and figure out what you can do the next time to possibly correct them or minimize at least you wi progress very quickly dont bash yourself and keep in mind you should be doing it as a hobby for enjoyment because you Ike it not very many people can sa they. Slept in a bed that they knew who built it so thats kind of cool I slept and my children slept in beds i made for all of us my son had a set of bunk beds that the top bunk had a electric garage door opener attached to it to open and close mine had enough storage under it to hide and store all my Holiday decorations And a 12 gauge shotgun ! That most people didnt realize was there but i could easily access my next design has hand gun storage !
Nice job yes it is exciting when drawers work. I share those same feelings. On a safety note most accidents happen when cutting on the ground. Thanks for the vid
Good job! It looks great. I saw the video you mentioned and I'd love to try to build as well.
Nicely done ✅
Nice work! looks very professional
Great work!!! Those tired people who watch the $1700+ Murphy bed videos and then complain about the prices
should watch yours.
Wow, looks great!
Thanks Justin. I did not see Glen's build but I can follow yours just fine. You did a really good job. I'll have to use some glue on the finish trim or my kids will have it all pulled apart. Brad nails are no challenge for the 8 year old. Thanks you
looked awesome. you did a great job.
Nice build...you did a great job.
Amazing, you my friend are super talented. I suck at building stuff but you give some plans and that shit will look good. I just never can imagine something and bring it to life. Well done
I have to make one of these! Great job.. you and glen ☺️
I am from another country and we don't know much about building beds like yours congratulations very nice
You did a great job..lots of work.
Beautiful job

Thank you so much For sharing with us your work, it helps me to do my homework of interior design
It looks beautiful thanks for sharing
Awesome job it looks awesome
Wow looks amazing!!!
I just found your video this morning and instantly knew I wanted to watch!!! Thank you for the amazing job you accomplished in putting this video together! You so a very excellent job of narrating, giving appropriate info and instruction at right spots and the camera is placed well so we can understand easily what you are doing! I realize there is experience in all of that but still, I know praise is few and far between, people get too busy and somtimes forget so job very very well done!!!
That is one very very well built piece of furniture that from the looks of it, one that will last you a life time and can even pass down through many generations if well maintained and moved if need be from one home to another if there is a move practically in the same way one would any other bed so, YES Sir make sure you move that with you should you move!!!! The reason I am pointing this out is because you made that with plywood which means you basically negate the risk of damage and or it disintegrating practically before your eyes just in if it were to get wet!!! That is one of the biggest problems the elite have created for us to keep their capitalist market going to keep us all in this enslaved do all of the work and barely get by while we sit on the hill tell you what to do and watch and take all of the profit from all of your hard labor!!! Amazing!! They have encouraged upgrading in with the new and out with the old crap!!! And thus out goes the well built furniture to buy the new styles of furniture so one can keep up with the times, stay in fashion, etc., etc., etc...and in the process we end up with crap peices of furniture that bubble up, bow out, warp and even just fall literally all apart almost before your eyse into a little pile of saw dust, because that is furniture now as well as most cabnetry and once it absorbs much water at all it is at minimum lumpy. And then instead of upgrading or keeping up one is actually having to throw out and replace/repair!!! And thus we NEED money and thus they keep us in this viscious cycle of needing money to buy and thus they have us and we must work usually for them even self employed one works more than even GOD entended!!!
The rest is off subject but a way to fix the world if enough of us demand change!!!
We are only supposed to have to labor to obtain food, erect a shelter and furniture, create clothing and care for one another! That is not supposed to mean 40 + hours a week and barely making it paycheck to paycheck! But we do so for the furniture reason but also all of the hype they have created and made holidays more elaborate and involved every year! They even put the stuff out months in advance to entice extra buying of unneeded, unnecessary things! A holiday to say i love you, independance day, memorial day, veterans day...a good one we should not even have because we should have never been at war which the elite also continually force so money is spent and circulated and for population control! If the men can cease fire on Christmas day and meet in the middle of a cold field and shake hands and share food and stories of families, friends and fiances waiting for them back home, for 24 hours, that tells you if not for the mad men calling the shots 95% of the time being directed via the pope, the queen, the president and a few others says and tells us who must be exiled or hung, how our systems need to be changed and how to make every man woman and child truly free, and truly taken care of day in and day out and never be left out in the cold again!!! Anyway they have given open subliminal messaging that we should buy and decorate and celebrate by spending more and on and on keepping us buying, buying, buying, making their system appear to work, whereas they villanize socialism to keep us away from it because then jthey are no longer in control! Not true socialism which would be like living as native americans have all of their lives!! Everyone who can work does work and everything goes together for the benifit of all! If you slack you miss out!!! Not much slacking after one eats bread and water if they even get that.!!
Trump is doing an excellent job, but what if, we all had a home and the utilities were always on, either because it was delivered as it is now or independantly at each dwelling and or just globally similar to how Tesla said it could be done! Everyone were able to do water catchment and or well water, even cable and what not but here wouod be the thing! We only perform the jobs that are essential, no more digging for stuff we do not need! Put everyone to work who can in making everyone a home, making clothing, making cookware growing food, etc. And then everything is shared everwhere much as it is now but because everyone does their part no one needs money and no onoe works the long hours. Even if everything were the same as now, but no new jobs, just put everyone who can work alongside another person who already has a job and train them to do that job as well! I know world wide there is at minimum one more person not working for everyone who is, so if they work those peoples jobs as well then that would mean only working half the time! But they will not do that because, that means either paycut for the original worker and they basically split the wage...nope!!! Other choice is pay them both the same amount as in a 40 hour pay but then the business doubles how much they pay employees, nope again! So, do away with money everyone works what is needed and have everything that is available! If someone refuses to work, ie"pitch in" then they can have bread and water until they decide they will work or they can go live outside of society on complete self!
Nice job for a first time building furniture! Try iron on plywood edge banding.
Excellent build! I also used Glen's video for inspiration on my murphy bed but i went with a queen and only open shelves on one side. I used a chain bolt on the front because i love hardware, haha. Love the piston idea, didn't catch on the video where exactly they were located though.
Where was the piston? You didn't discuss? Is this just lifted by hand ?
I love the boat swivel brackets u used way cheaper then the bed kit. Thanks
Agree it came out great....
heck of a job, well done.
Well done sir, sweet build it is.
Bravo! Well done! I was looking for a video that showed the swivel plate installation. I'll be doing a Murphy bed in a small bedroom/office as well. Great video! Thank you.
