    • @Mr2004MCSS
      @Mr2004MCSS Před 2 měsíci +13

      Because the prosecution would not have been able to send him to prison if he was found to be mentally ill. He would have been sent to a mental institution instead for treatment. In the trials of the two parents, they flipped the script to fit their narrative and pushed the fact that he was mentally ill and the parents should have known it. They got to play the game both ways and won.

      @user-qn4py7zq5g Před 2 měsíci +7

      That's because these despicable prosecutors claimed NO mental illness in the kid's Miller hearing to secure Life without parole for a Minor. They put a pyschiatrist on the stand to claim that the kid was in full control, no mental illness, no voices, no impulsive action, that is was planned, thought-out, he was able to manipulate, he had the ability/control to delay, and on and on. They secured this punishment. Then these disgusting prosecutors turned around and claimed mental illness, neglect of mental illness in the mother's trial. You can't have it both ways. It's either one or the other. These prosecutors threw in nonsense after nonsense into Jennifer's trial to make her appear to be a horrible mother. The affair, the fact that she loved horses somehow became a crime, the fact that she volunteered for ski patrol (which is basically on-mountain paramedics) also became a horrible crime and they somehow made her into pure evil. There is absolutely no evidence that the kid ever asked for any help. NONE. And if the kid wanted help so badly, he had the attention of 5 adults in the room and multiple school officials --- he could have asked for the help then -- but he didn't. And he didn't because he didn't want help. He is evil. The only thing that mattered in this case was whether the gun was stored appropriately. Everything else is complete nonsense. And is there a law on how the gun should be stored? I don't even know. I watched alot of Jennifer's trial, not that much of this one. The gun should have been stored more securely. If there is a law on how the gun should be stored, then James should be punished. If there is no law on how the gun should be stored -- then we sure as hell need one. Jennifer bought the bullets. If there is a law on how the bullets should be stored, then she should be punished. And if there is no law on how the bullets should be stored, then we sure as hell need to enact a law on how these things are to be stored. What these prosecutors were able to do here is absolutely horrifying. They played one-side of the coin, to get the kid full punishment (which I agree with) and then flipped the coin, and played the other side of the coin to get full punishment for both parents. Not right. Not moral. Not just. This case should have been tried on what the law was for gun storage and bullet storage and whether that was done or not. Nothing else.

      Luckily most underage gun violence are from kids who steal guns or buy them off the black market. During the verdict he just shakes his head proving he doesn’t get it at all. He doesn’t understand that you just don’t buy a gun for a disturbed child. Once discipline was removed from the home and schools, what can you expect? Just two generations ago school shootings were never even thought of, but once there is no accountability you see what happens. Unless discipline is brought back, it will only get worse. Children thrive when parents are parents and they provide discipline for their children. School teachers have become nothing but professional day care workers and unless discipline is re-instilled at home and in school it will only get worse.

    Nobody mentions how the school could have checked Ethan's bag? That's negligent. Or are they not allowed to do that when a child's psychotic scribblings featuring his gun are discovered?

    • @CrabbyEmpath
      @CrabbyEmpath Před 2 měsíci +1

      They are not allowed to do that. The cops can't walk into your house nor go in your vehicle without reasonable cause or a warrant. The school cannot go through student's person belongings.
      There was no reasonable cause. They called his PARENTS in and they said he was fine, it was fine and he may be suicidal but we're going back to work. What if he DIDN'T have the gun and they searched him based off of his parents assuring the school they weren't even concerned enough to take him home.
      His parents heard there was a school shooting and their first instinct was to check their guns and tell him, "don't do it!" If you thought your child was involved in a school shooting would your first thought be they're the shooter??? Or... The shot?

Just one thing, I think the dad showed more empathy, told his son he loved him, cried during the trial. Idk what to think. The mother should go to jail for her shitty ass attitude and lack of support for her own son. Maybe if he was a horse, who knows. Crazy, this world is just too freaking crazy.

    This is all fine & well - & yes, it is my contention that the parents (as well as the principal offender) be made accountable - but there's a far simpler edict that could easily be followed: Cessate the sale of firearms - the Second Ammendment is so outmoded. A salient reminder - in 2024 alone, over thirty deaths have resulted as a consequence to inadequate firearms legislature & its control; you have schools with metal detectors, as well as security personnel on the gate - it's insanity. No President of the US in the last sixty years has ever truly stood up to the Gun Lobbyists, who, not coincidentally, hold sway over the vote (& therein) the political infrastructure of the entire nation. Unfortunately, I can categorically guarantee that more of the same will continue to increase; it is not a wish for such, but until the mindset of the United States alters perceptibly against the disproportionate ownership of firearms - & thereby procurement from anyone from the age of six thru' to their dotage - directly or indirectly, graveyeards & Crematoria will continue to burgeon. Not a week goes by without reportage of slayings - in educational establishments, eateries, shopping centres - the list is endless....it is an incredibly sad indictment upon the nation as a whole, & as far as I can see, it shall never relent without a concerted effort to curtail such.

    • @andrewtongue7084
      @andrewtongue7084 Před 2 měsíci

      It is not my "thought" per se, rather that of common-sensical logic. The "harm" you speak of would (inexorably) only come from those protagonists who are deeply entrenched in the aforementioned Second Ammendment, ergo, why I signalled that an adoption to ammend the Ammendment, a necessary stratagem to relieve unnecessary loss of life. Currently, the population in the US is around three hundred & thirty-three million, with four hundred million firearms within that populace..as your compatriots are oft quoted to state, 'Do the mathematics'. If you have a solution - or at least the semblance of one, then I'd be delighted to hear your rationale....somehow, I don't consider you have. One thing is certain, whatever reforms are placed in-situ, it will take years, if not decades to accomplish.

      I know many families who hunt and their sons, a few daughters, learn to handle hunting rifles at an early age. Those homes have strict rules about getting out the guns. They are locked up, secured. Buying a male teenager a hand gun is about as risky as it gets. Show me a teen who isn't all emotions. Mr. Crumbley is guilty of negligence in failing to secure the weapon. But neither he nor his wife pulled the trigger. I think the charges are bogus.

      He was a child in school. Where did he get the gun? Did Ethan graduate from high school? Nope. So who are the responsible adults here? Did Ethan buy the gun? No he did not. Do a heinous act? It all depends on the laws. How they are worded? Sad that 4 people were killed😢a lot of people knew what was going on but nobody bothered to make an effort to see what was wrong? Responsible gun owners teach kids right from wrong at a very young age. Guns are to be respected and used responsibly. Let's be honest who would do this? Why? Clearly Ethan did not care about taking a person's life? Love all people no matter what. Every person in this world is valuable in some sort of way. Taking a life is not the right thing to do. There is hard consequences for killing people. It's a crime to do this.
