For example, if we are trying to predict the stock price of a stock by machine learning on several related variables like the previous close, news related to stock, etc it is regression. Several use cases of supervised learning of regression exist in practical business scenarios.
Some of the common supervised learning algorithms of regression include nearest neighbor algorithms and linear regression. The nearest neighbor algorithm can be used for regression based on lazy ideas and linear regression is used to forecast output continuous variables by means of a linear equation
