I watched this movie last night and I left not knowing how to feel about it. The Cinematography was amazing and the silence in the movie definitely made me feel creeped out while watching it. I wasn't necessarily scared while watching, but felt eerie because of the vibes it gave off. One thing that did ruin my experience though was the couple sitting next to me, they wouldn't stop talking and kept laughing and shoving each other which made it hard to not look over at them during the movie. Some people just don't have movie theater etiquette anymore!
Spoke my exact thoughts. Wasn't scared but defo creepy.
To help describe the feeling you had, it’s dread
That’s the vibe of it
It’s not necessarily outwardly scary but more of a “I shouldn’t watch this” thing if that makes sense
Literally me today💀 couple was talking smooching and giggling like wtf
Its pretty slow and I dont think its that great. Maybe I need to see it again, but I just dont think it can compare to silence of the lambs, dressed to kill, seven etc. Cage is awesome in his role, but I felt this movie just kind of is a hit and miss for me.
Wasn’t scary at all. Creepy in parts and parts I dreaded a jump scare but I’ll sleep just fine tonight in a dark room.
You're incorrect about the pyschic ability, or seem to have misunderstood, cause it was used quite frequently. If you watch it again, there is periodically a whisper and wind sound that guides her to something important and this is that ability kicking it. It's also felt more directly anytime she is in close proximity to or in contact with the metallic balls or Longlegs himself where she gets those vivid visions in red. Its implied the psychic powers are a direct result of her doll still being intact.
Her psychic powers were teased throughout the movie-whenever there was a whoosh sound it indicated that she felt something wrong
So she's spider man and her Spidey senses were tingling?... sounds kinda stupid
@@XboxNuisance well that’s the way they did it and it worked for me
Every single time there was a woosh and she had some sort of suspicion, she was correct about it
Dude, what the hell is wrong with you? Why are you spoiling it? I watched this Video because its non spoilers.
@@MrJoely02 it’s not really a spoiler, it’s just something about her character that you see basically at the beginning of the movie and it’s obviously gonna be teased throughout
A spoiler would be if I told you WHAT she got suspicious about
*spoiler*
That’s interesting,
I thought it was because she had a past connection with him that was the initial reason she was having those ‘whooshing feelings’. Because once they explained that she had a past connection with long legs, that’s when the whole ‘intuitive’ plot went out the window for me. She had these repressed memories that were coming back in waves at a time until it all flooded back in her mind in the end once that doll broke.
A great movie. But mislabeled as a horror movie. This is more of a suspenseful detective movie.
💯
It’s a horror movie. It’s literally labeled as such. Just because it didn’t scare you doesn’t mean it’s not a horror movie..
It's more of a suspense focus crime thriller with horror elements. It is a horror movie but not the typical one@@Tara-zz7ny
Never ending genre debate.
Horror can be a thriller, thriller can be a horror.
Both can be a detective story.
Genres interfere and overlap all the time.
Also SPOILERS the third act is all about the devil and possesed dolls :D
monkey see monkey do, give me a effing break, it is a horror film & a very good one at that. Easily the best serial killer horror/crime thriller since Anthony Hopkins portrayed Hannibal in Silence of the Lambs (1991) which was 33 years ago. Forget Manhunter. Last but not least, i like 3C but he is so off on his analysis & rating of this film, so completely off & it is never predictable, you're just writing to write. It's called Horror/Crime 🤡
Saw it a few hours ago. Wasn't scary in my opinion, but very well done. Very demonic and satanic
Not really demonic or satanic.
@@andrewcruz3837you sure about that
@@andrewcruz3837that was literally the whole point of the movie what are you talking about💀
@@Weezy.y oh yeah? You mean the lil growls here and there and the 2 sec shot of the demon under the blanket? Its that the satanic part your talking about? Because from what i saw was nic cage just making dolls and killing himself in the end. There was no devil summoning. No demons appearing to attack anyone (besides being in the dolls) which was stupid. It was wasted potential
@@Weezy.ymaybe to casuals but when you know you know
This is the type of movie that needs multiple watches to catch certain little details. I saw it last night, solid 7.5 maybe even 8/10!

10/10 genius and horrifying
@@andrewcruz3837 I can definitely understand why some may not really fw this. This is a very stylized, slow burn horror movie that is really meant to psychologically creep you tf out even days afterwards vs having you jumping out of your seat from scares

Two people from my acting college are in this movie! Michelle Cyr and Dakota Daulby. So proud and so stoked to just go out to the theatre and support.
When were they
**SPOILERS**
Remember the scene when Lee was at Agent Carters house and his daughter said her parents keep all her belongings? Later on, Lee sees her mom she also tells her she’s kept all of her belongings. That gave me a feeling either Agent Carters family is going to die or her mom was because thats no mere coincidence.
Maybe push the spoiler down a bit
Yeah as soon as they mentioned that I knew her mom was in on it
Honestly though the whole film felt really predictable. Like as soon as the daughter was introduced I knew the detective's family was done for
@@renamon5658Done 👍🏽
@@forbiddencroisantI was going to make a similar comment! Certain parts were definitely predictable. At first, I thought I was just lucky guess but after further thought, nah. Shit was predictable BUT there were still some nice surprises
Crazy how your theater was booing the movie. Once the movie ended in the theater I was in everyone was clapping
The audience I saw it with left the theater pretty excited by the experience. Most likely very young people in a particular audience that boo'd. At the same time... who are people booing or clapping for after a film? The creators are not going to be at your showing (unless otherwise noted).
3C doesn't know what the fuck he is talking about. It's damn near a masterpiece. This is not for him he can stick to silly + kid shit because he is a grown ass man who likes soft shit that kids would like.
3C always keeps it real with these reviews. Why you are my number 1 place for reviews
Nicholas Cage always having these absolutely fire movies every now and then between his bad movies…which are still fun to watch anyway
Watched it yesterday night and I loved it, this was a really good movie, I was in it from start to end. Reminds me of Seven and X files because it was in the 90s or late 80s
I didn't see much marketing for it, so I went in with little to no knowledge. I really enjoyed it, definitely much better then some of the other films that have come out lately.
Every time 3C films reviews a movie I get excited
tha'ts a shame and i like 3C but he can stick to analyzing soft ass kid humor films. He doesn't know what the fuck he is talking about when it comes to films like LONGLEGS. He sounds foolish. 3C should just review G / PG, & PG13 because he is a grown ass man who thinks like a juvenile kid. The R-rated world is NOT for him.
"We're already over halfway into the year" That hurt...💀
The movie also completely lost me when it became super unrealistic. I saw it during a sold out showing earlier today, and the audience was seemingly NOT feeling it based on the scoffs and chatter I heard leaving the auditorium… I’m still happy I saw it though, solely for the atmosphere and cinematography.
Beautifully made film with a "daunting" atmosphere throughout.
Love your vids 3C keep up the amazing work
Just the fact That Nicolas Cage is playing an unrecognized serial Killer has me hyped and i can’t wait to eventually watch this film.
He was the only thing that for me redeemed this movie
He’s in it for about 6 minutes.
Unpopular opinion but the worst thing you can do to a film is draw that shit out to pad the runtime. I thought the pacing was solid for the first 30 min then it just becomes so drawn out with its themes and religious tones to the point where it feels more like an indie art project trying to make u feel a sense of dread with pointless exposition then a cohesive story. By the half way point you know where its going and The characters gave me a migraine.... Malignant did it better with its twist
8:41 but it is tho, just came from watching the movie, it has a sound cue at a few times in the movie
*SPOILERS*
She senses something in her mother’s house behind the locked door, she senses Longlegs before he knocks on her door, she literally has a spider-sense and it has a sound cue and her mother gets rid of it by destroying her doll, you see her ability literally leaving out the back of her head. The visions of the red liquid and snakes are her psychic abilities at work
And she spends a long time staring at Agent Carter’s daughter when they first meet. This could be seen as her social awkwardness, but I think it could also be her feeling something bad will happen to the little girl, but not knowing what
But it goes nowhere. It does not help her survive in anyway. It does not help her solve the case. It is just there.
SEEING IT THIS WEEKEND IM SO SCARED & EXCITED
Curve this expectations massively and thank me later when you've seen it 👍
@@DanothemannoHard agree. I wish I hadn’t watched so many reviewers who acted like this was the scariest movie in years. The film was fine but nothing I care to watch again.

I didn’t feel like it’s was a horror, more like a suspense/thriller. The end could have been better and the explanation behind long legs was lacking a bit
Great review!
I think the “psychic” ability was in relation to long legs being connected to Lee.
Each doll he made contained “his essence” …and during his encounter with little Lee and her mother, he mentions he’ll be able to “come and go whenever he wants, as often as he wants”.
So, was she psychic…or was she just pulling from the connection with long legs which in turn gave her “psychic” abilities? I think that’s why it wasn’t really brought up again.
I saw a premier of it and I thought it wasn’t that bad but yeah I was very confused and disappointed with the psychic stuff not being explored but Nickolas cage did great and I really like the detective aspect of it not the biggest fan of the ending
The ending was kinda a bummer but i enjoyed it though
I can truly say that because of your channel I've decided I want to go into the film industry. Your honest reviews and the true emotion you hold for cinema inspired me to want to create a film that can get an A+ in all categories.
I liked this film a lot. This was way better than Maxxxine and the latest season of True Detective. And that's good enough for me.
When I first heard about the movie, I thought it was about spiders. Kinda like those movies about giant spiders that attack a town or mall, But recently I found out the true story, I might see this thanks for the review.
You said it perfectly man. I enjoyed it till the end where it led to. Needed more nicolas. Even nicolas & monroe on camera together more would’ve been dope.

My BOY Chris always be telling the truth man! I thought the trailers was wayyy scarier than the movie. I can't believe people are calling this a MASTERPIECE already???
Agreed
Facts, movie wasn't that scary
@@Thefittrackit was 5/10 they said nic cage was gonna have a big reveal. Where was the reveal?
I haven't seen a scary movie that's "scared" me since I was 6 years old. There's more feelings to a scary movie that make them good IMO. Unsettling, eerie, tension, atmosphere etc. Movie was awesome
Wasn't much a big reveal to be honest
I really felt like I was crazy for thinking the story was undercooked, thanks for this review. But I do hope this brings more general audiences to give disturbing movies a chance.
More traumatizing than scary. There are so many sudden brutal scenes. My head is still ringing a bit a day later. I definitely recommend seeing it in the theater as the cinematography is awesome.
great vid as always... i see you have an editor now. Should let them know that the "swoosh" sound effects are too loud. They kinda get annoying/take me out of the video
I pretty much agree with everything you said. I loved the atmosphere it created, and I was spooked out half the time without there being any obvious reason.
I also love to watch a horror movie that has me trying to figure it out right away. I definitely enjoy being surprised by new plots that haven't been played out a million times before. There was some great cinematography. Right from the beginning. Unfortunately, it all just fell flat. Everyone at the theater sat there for a minute when the credits started, and then was like, wtf??
It had so much potential to really be amazing, and the storyline was really interesting , but too many things that weren't explained and rushed through. I also really didn't like the FBI agent. She was really weird acting and awkward, and it just made it unbelievable that she was actually a Fed.
Nicholas Cage was amazing and truly frightening. He definitely has a knack for playing a scary, weird, psychopathic character. I wished there was more of him actually in the movie.
I feel if they had left the far-out supernatural aspects out, it would've made a more horrifying conclusion that would've left the audience more satisfied.
I rate it 1 star for the overall movie.
100 stars for the hype and secrecy of promoting the film.
I wouldn't recommend going to the theater, and it's not something I'd watch again.
I love Nick Cage, tho! ❤
That feeling of being ‘scared’ from that movie after watching it is a feeling I’ve been waiting for, for a horror movie for quite a bit tbh
Just saw it & 100000% agree. I enjoyed the movie all the way up until we finally got the revelation of what was causing everything. And it was a bit of a letdown. So I didn’t enjoy it & it took away the realism that you’re talking about. It lost me there too. Would have rather just had more Nicolas Cage.
Its always a good day when cris drops a video
This is the only review of Long Legs I’ll watch before seeing it, but this is a little sad to hear as I think the value of your opinion is super aligned to mine! Hopefully I end up enjoying it!
It wasn't ''A Scariest film of the Decade'', But it was definitely an interesting watch, I would definitely recommend it to people who are more into crime/thriller genre, because this is definitely not a horror film. It has horror elements but it wasn't a full blown horror movie from start to finish. There was some unsettling and creepy parts but I never felt truly scared. Nic Cage and Maika Monroe were both great, the actress who plays Lee's mother in the film was fantastic, she was absolutely creepy. But it definitely a type of movie that you need to see twice, it demands that. So I am definitely going to be seeing again but this time alone at home. I just came out of the screening couple of minutes ago, so the movie is very fresh in my mind but I just... I don't know, I need to sit with this movie for a bit and think how I feel about it, because there were stuff I really, really liked and then there were some other stuff that I would put under a question mark. That's why I think it necessary to see it twice. I can say that I think this film should have been either longer or a mini-series, a 1 hour 40 minute runtime is not enough to tell such a story I feel like, there is quite a lot that is left to viewer's imagination, a very ambiguous ending. I don't hate the ending but I do wish we got a conclusion, it felt like we will be getting Longlegs 2 or something... but either way, I can't decide fully on how I feel about this film, I will say I did like it more than I did not like it, but I don't want to go in the details because I am not 100% sure if even the things I did not like I truly don't like you know? But it definitely was an experience that I overall enjoyed but at the same let down by few things, I did feel like it needed to be longer at the very least and the jumpscares were weak... absolutely weak to me. But I will still recommend for anybody to go check it out for yourself, especially like I said before if you are fan of these type of movies (Silence of the Lambs, Seven or Zodiac) then this could be a good time for you. I will say this, this film is definitely also not on par with Silence of the Lambs or Seven in terms of filmmaking, storytelling and etc etc... It definitely pays homage to those films but at the same brings an interesting unique twist to the movie which I did really like. So yeah, go check it out. I feel like this movie is going to be very divisive, some people will love it some people will like it and some will straight out hate it, it definitely a more of A24 type of horror/thriller flick. Also, Nic Cage's performance was definitely something... I did not know how to approach his character... but eventually he did get under my skin but I can see some people straight out laugh at this character because of how ridiculous he is in this. Even I smiled couple of times because Nic Cage was having a lot of fun in this one, oh my oh my... He was chewing every scene, the interrogation scene definitely is going to be a memorable scene from the movie. Gosh, I went on a huge rant.. I need to chill, but at the moment it very hard for me to rate this, I need to wait a bit until I can truly comprehend what I just saw.
i’m glad chris doesn’t sugar coat he’s honest with it i’m about to see it tomorrow i won’t go in with high hopes but still excited to see it 🙏

Your comment about feeling unsettled at home struck a chord with me. On my way home after seeing the movie, I felt the same way and convinced myself that someone might be in the back seat of my truck (half cab). Didn't go away until I turned on the interior light and physically put my arm back there.
I agree 100% with this review. The story points at the end just didn’t fulfill me. The ending of part two was disappointing because I wanted more confrontation between the two main characters. I definitely wanted more I feel you and agree.
Nah that's so stupid and predictable
I had the exact same experience! I was struggling to not fall asleep and that’s rare for me.
The visuals were extremely good ,
The acting was very good
the story was mediocre at best.
Still enjoyed it though
I met someone who saw this last night and hated it. Was looking forward to your review as I tend to have similar tastes in movies.
I was on board. Then I was kinda like, ummm. I was cool with Cage's performance, but it was telling me a few different things that came across as confusing. Ultimately, I was left with questions and underwhelmed with the mystery of it all. The reason for the story that they landed on was meh at best. Thanks for another great review, Chris! Keep up the good work, sir. #GeeSawThat 🤘🏿😁👍🏿

The silver ball inside the dolls was explained to be pieces of long legs, and though its a leap, it was said that it allowed him to tell her where to look for things, playing into that cat and mouse game trope. which is why when her doll was destroyed she lost her connection to her “abilities”. is it lazy and one hell of a stretch, yes, but its there atleast lol

I like Chris for not praising this movie like everyone else on social media
It's awesome that dude shared his honest opinion... but the movie is quite good. I think he will be in the minority, largely sharing the opinion of teens & people unfamiliar with cinema. It is a damn fine film.

I've been waiting to see this movie for so long im so excited to see it
I have yet to see the film and what intrigues me on your critique about the story is that I see others appreciate the lack of explanation it gives or lack thereof. I guess certain aspects of "less is more" doesn't tickle your fancy, but all is fair in an opinion in the end. Can't wait to see it!
So crazy seeing how far our boy Cris has come
It's finally here!!!! 🤩 I'm dying for this reaction
I agree the movie had great sound, but the movie was kinda boring. I never really felt any tension or fear. Forgettable film.
it’s not scary in the way i feel the marketing was trying to convey, it’s more unsettling then anything and that’s what made it WORK for me!! going into this movie with the thought of it being a thriller instead of a horror is what will give you the best outcome for anyone who is preparing to be utterly terrified.
I like the updated light setup!
I really think when it comes down to marketing, people need to manage expectation because critics and regular viewers have a different minds when it comes to the movies rating, there are some movies also where the critics rating high and audience scores is low.
Similar experience. I’ve seen most horror movies this year later in the evening opening weekend and longlegs was by far the most packed crowd. The only other movie I’ve seen this year with as many people was Dune Part 2 which is extremely impressive to me that this many people are coming out to see the movie.
Dang man! I was looking forward to seeing this, but I trust your opinion and will wait to catch it at home…

Not bland at all. The hype was hype but aside from that, if you can put the hype aside, it’s a damn great film. It was great. Intense atmosphere
It’s spooky but if you’re REALLY into horror it’s predictable
Loved it
Definitely not bland. But it was definitely rushed story telling.
Movie wasn’t scary, two unsettling scenes with flashes of long legs but that’s it, the ending I enjoyed but not many people agree
Hey Chris, I always appreciate your honesty, that’s what makes you so authentic, I just got done seeing it and really enjoyed it, listening to some of your criticisms, I mean I understand totally, especially with the weirder direction the film took ok the last act.
Still a very good movie in my opinion despite the flaws.
Im glad to see I wasn't alone in my thinking! I felt 100% the same way about this film as you did. Maybe my hopes were way too high. I still enjoyed it in the end, though.

I've already seen a lot of reviews and this is the most cogent to me. Totally worth seeing, maybe even twice. But too many clichés thrown into a blender by the end. Perkins straight up needs a co-screenwriter because this has always been his sticking point.
W 3C UPLOAD
Yay! You’re coming in closer to the camera. That’s way better.
Seeing this on Sunday. Read a review that called it “Alan wake 2” the movie. I know it’s not gonna have that supernatural element (presumably) but that’s all I needed to hear. I’m sure I’ll love this
I agree with this! I liked it, and the cinematography and sound design was utilized perfectly, and the acting was top notch. But story wise, when it was all over, I was still hungry. Lol! I wish the film would have learned more into either realism or supernatural than it did, but I felt like the balance it struck wasn't very effective. The most terrifying part to me was something that the film just sort of glossed over, and I wish it would have been touched on just a little bit further, because it would have made for a great "omg, no way!" kind of reveal.
That said, I enjoyed it and will probably watch it again several times, but there were portions of the narrative that needed a bit more work.
Thank you for this review oh great Chris

Im completely in the dark about this movie, Im fast forwarding to the end just to see what you thought about the movie.
