If you look at Steve Austin's face in some of his matches with The Rock you can see him smiling and laughing at Rock's sells
they made beer bets before the matches, on who could oversell the most
Rock and Austin are friends off the ring.
Especially at 8:20 he’s got a big smile on his face when he goes for the pin lmao
@@nathanboyer80 no. the best was to see if Rock could break Austin by his selling of the Stunner.
even Earl Hebner is laughing
No Dolph Ziggler this is a disgrace
I'm a 100% sure Ziggler would agree with this list. Idk why you're having a problem.
@@aaryanairy756 Damn you know him personally.
Tell him I'm a fan.
Not even a special mention.
Its a overseller video not a best seller video..
I don't think Dolph Ziggler's sells are that exaggerated to be mentioned in this list. A best seller list would fit him more, which I think he made a video about.
Special recognition to RVD. He oversold damage from his own moves to the point where the frog splash hurt him more than his opponent.
😁
It looked like he was in pain from administering it, whereas the guy on the receiving end was simply dead
@carmine redd hell awaits you my friend :D
@carmine redd thats not funny 😂😂
@carmine redd AYO
@carminereddyou need to be stopped
Sometimes you forget how good of a seller Brock Lesnar is because of his “powerhouse” booking. But when he does sell, he makes moves look good.
He sold the hell out of takers choke slam
At 8:20 you can see Austin grinning and the crazy sell by Rock , their chemistry in ring was always so entertaining to watch XD
Santino Morella deserves at least an honorable mention. His oversells were funny
Like when tried to do the ring splits 😂😂😂
Or how about the time when jtg overselling the cobra move
@@chucksenhowzen9740 Oh the one he tried to copy Melina’s entrance 😂
Or when stone cold stunned him and he saluted on his way down, think they showed it too😂😂
@@99mrpogi that's in the video at the start 😂😂😂 "ohh the venom!!"
DiBiase’s so underrated. Not only is he one of the greatest villains in wrestling history, his technical ability in the ring was a thing of beauty. I know he’s in the hof but I never felt he got the praise he deserved.
Lies again? Gun Oil USD SGD
Ted had the perfect gimmick too...he and IRS were one of my favorite tag teams of all time. Not only is his entrance music is still on my playlist, I got detention at school for putting some kid in the Million Dollar Dream...anyway I totally agree.
Rick Rude taking the Atomic Drop will always be the funniest thing to me.
It wasn't in this video, but I saw Curt Hennig sell an atomic drop by doing this weird little forward and back pelvis wiggle. The audience laughed, it was great.
For those of you who were hoping to see the likes of Dolph Ziggler, RVD and Ricochet on this list, I felt that they sell in a more realistic fashion, so I would put them in a different category, i.e. they make you feel as though they are legitimately hurt. The wrestlers I've included in this list are more comical with their overselling.
Ahh true say
0:10 I wouldn’t call Dolph Ziggler doing a full front flip “realistic,” though that looked really cool lol
we need that list asap
I think I would put ziggler at the billy gunn spot. He's rude, perfect and HBK good in his selling and he oversells. But it's not my list.
Fair point. Overall, Dolph Ziggler is going to sell everything his opponent delivers. Sure, he may oversell certain moves - and even ham it up a bit at times - but he doesn't seem to do it to make a point to the agents, bookers, and/or his opponent if he's unhappy about something. He's a very reliable talent in the ring, regardless of spot on the card.
The referee who bounced off all three ropes on the way down is an all time great sell!! I can’t believe a wrestler hasn’t worked it into their Arsenal it’s so good
It made me Laugh Out Loud
Dude straight died, went limp, died again, fell to the floor and died again
Gotta remember Rikishi making every clothesline look devastating
He even did that when he was in the Headshrinkers. One of the many reasons why they were one of my favorite tag teams
Ross, he got closeline from hell from inside out if think he said it like that hahaa
no that was JBL.
his clothesline made it more all
the real.
@@nemopouncey3827 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Yeah
Respect to MR Perfect even with a damaged back he was still willing to oversell to put Bret Hart over
Yes, we heard it
You do know overselling is the exact opposite of "putting someone over," right??
Agreed! Curt Hennig was ahead of his time, he's influenced some of the greatest of all time
LMAO Brock Lesnar's sell of Sweet Chin music on Raw on August 19th 2002 was awesome and I believe that was the last time Brock and Shawn interacted until 2012 if I'm not mistaken
Some of these "Oversells" are actually impressive and cool, realistic. Triple H going thru the ropes or Billy Gun receiving clothesline look very cool and impactful as well.
Billy Gun receiving the clothesline was pretty cool how he sold it..
Exactly. Put respect on H's name. He had a respectable balance of making lame moves (stunner) look devastating but not phony (Rock's selling of stunner).
thats why we called him Mr. Perfect , he make perfect himself in every terms of wrestling like storytelling , pure wrestling , extreme realistic selling , best over selling and many more he can make you laugh and on other side he can make you angry , no one can't compare at his level of work
Used to love when he’s spit the gum out and smack it away with his shoulder/forearm… had the perfect entrance theme music for his ring name too
7:10 i like how the atomic drop pushed his tailbone all the way to his head, causing him to sell the head also
It’s some epic selling of the ad. The genius sold hogans ad pretty funny too then hogan imitated his sell
@@jerichobeach2967 lol yea you won't see these kinda sells today. Sadly.. because i kinda enjoyed them
5:58 broo wtf is that ref doing 😂😂
The cry baby 🤣🤣🤣
Rude's wobbly leg sells were absolutely hilarious.
Hennig truly was perfect in the ring. Even Hulk frickin' Hogan said that everybody in the arena checked their egos at the door when Curt was performing, as there was nobody in the world that was better. That's HOGAN saying that.
Mr.Perfect was the embodiment of perfect selling/overselling. In the early 90s he was so over as a heel that it was just pure joy to watch. On one side he was legitely extremely dominant as his abilities were without any doubt- then he could read a match and make his opponents in a way dominant that everyone was happy to see him beatup. Like his IC Title loss against Kerry von Erich- even when he won it back he would make sure it was a dirty win so our hero wouldn't look weak. My most beloved heel.
👍
**spits out gum, slaps it mid air**
Lex Luger is definitely one of the more humorous oversellers. I always loved how he acted like he was getting utterly devastated with every single blow even chest slaps .
You missed Dolph Ziggler he oversells just like anyone on this list.
dolph ziggler is my pic too
He worst than anyone on here.
4:45 LMAO 🤣
And honestly, RVD could be number 1. Everytime he'd take an RKO, German Suplex or a DDT it really looked like he landed on his head and he'd bounce off the canvas.
Jeff Hardy is also an underrated seller along with Bubba Ray Dudley.
Watch HHH ddt RVD at Survivor Series 2002. RVD does a handstand and a twirl. Craziness.
The Ric Flair oversell at 8:46 into this video in the 1992 Royal Rumble when the Texas tornado hit him is the greatest one in history
LOL YES dude, its my favorite one too lol, its the way he walks out of that corner SO determined, like thats IT im gonna DO something! aaaand flop, LMAO , the best
@The Systemic Anomaly haha when I first seen it I was like that's his finishing move and Flair no sold it......nevermind
@@ryandonovan5205 and right after Flair ...Texas Tornado punches Shawn Michaels and he also sells great......its a magical minute in wwf history
@8:20 the joy on stone cold face haha!! 😂
My favorite Shawn Michaels oversell was at Wrestlemania V when he did a complete flip after a clothesline from Akeem. I had never seen anything like that at that point.
Look at Rikishi selling clothelines, he made Chyna look like unstoppable force with his flips, made more impressive by his mass.
One of my favorite Wrestlemania moments. The combination of Shawn’s overselling the clothesline and Jesse Ventura’s deadpan reaction on the commentary (“I believe he irritated Akeem”) makes it hilariously perfect.
RIP Mr Perfect 😢...
nothing anybody gonna say gonna make me believe The Rock selling a stunner isn’t the greatest sell and the greatest thing in wrestling
Am I just naïve or is it not possible they could potentially hurt themselves with the oversell just as much as the move itself?
Yep, some of those are dangerous
Absolutely. They had control of the oversell though. Some wrestlers didn't "take care" of their opponents as well as others and accidents do happen, but at least for a few moments, the oversell had control and or could get a few moments to reset.
Dolph is the Current Day Shawn, But only in selling😂😂
In selling, in gimmick, in style and attitude, Dolph has always been a mix of Mr.Perfect and Shawn Michaels. That's really cool to see
@@okoe1785 He’s not as Good, and never was as over as Shawn was. But his selling is top Notch 😂😂
@@18Jordan.23 never said he was as good but he took huge inspiration from those 2
@@18Jordan.23 but his selling is not top notch, in fact its bloddy awful. He makes everying look fake and cartoonists. If you want to watch top notch selling watch tanahashi or ishii.
@@18Jordan.23 Dolph is a technical wrestler leagues above anyone from the 90s... He's just been held down because of Triple H's favoritism. Notable now more than ever when he went from a championship NXT 2.0 run into jobbing for Theory.
That one from triple H where shawn is blowing on him to make him fall over? That was the most hilarious clip ive ever seen. The longest oversell I have ever seen. And the shawn one versus hulk, that was just malicious compliance at its best, Hulk refuses to let there be a best of three where shawn wins one? Ok, shawn will make you seem like a physical god in the ring as the slightest chop sends him bouncing across the ring 3x before smashing to the ground and twitching. Enjoy your win.
Supposedly Triple H wasn't supposed to do that and Michaels didn't know what was going on and was totally confused by it.
@@saysoun752 Yeah but like all experienced trolls, he adapted and went with it.
The way people would sell the Stone Cold stunner was hilarious. They would either pop up in the air and fall, or just roll off Austin and lay on the mat.
Or there’s Vince McMahon at WM 😂🤣
@@CoffeeMatt10 that was classic, how could I forget that 🤣
I always loved the pop up ones. Like Austin was a springboard or something
Thank you for recognizing the classic oversellers! You definitely have to make another list for those who want to see more recent wrestlers on this list!
But this is awesome 😁
Scott taking the second Austin stunner with that fantastic bounce onto his back is still great to watch
The Scott Hall double stunner was epic.
I love Greg The Hammer Valentine's faceplant. Occasionally he would do it perfectly where he didn't put his hands out in front. Just fearlessly drill his face into the matt like a railroad spike. Awesome.
The hand was probably prescribed by his neurosurgeon.
Valentine's faceplants are the highlight of this whole vid.
Two of the best ones for me 00:56 - the snake bite venom 😆 and the goodbye salute 1:00 🤣
This entire video had me rolling!!! 🤣🤣 How can any true wrestling fan not appreciate the pure genius of guys like Hall, Flair, Rock and the rest. They were all incredible. Damn, I miss how great wrestling was back in the day! Today it's almost unwatchable.
Fact's
It is unwatchable
Im glad D-Von got the recognition he deserves on this, that leg shake is legendary selling, love the nod Xavier Woods gave to D-Von sellin the 3D like that
5:45 made me cry. that's perfect
The story I heard about the Rock overselling the Stunner is that the first time he did it, he was trying to get a laugh out of the Undertaker.
No. That's the elbow.
I love overselling because it's entertaining. That's why I love Shawn Michaels, Mr. Perfect, Rick Rude, Ric Flair and Harley Race. Also Scott Hall and The Rock, Billy Gunn, Greg Valentine, Lex Luger, Brian Pillman, Triple H and even the GOAT Hulk Hogan had good overselling qualities
EAZY there big guy, don't have to get a hard on thinking about your hero's.
Man I saw all these wrestlers live many times. I was a kid I used to go backstage at WWF events from the late 80's into the early 90's so I got a peek behind the curtain (had connections). One story about Kurt Henning, who was a real pro. His gimmick of course was to come into the ring very confident with that straight back and smug look. He did his thing in the ring and did his walk back, but once behind the curtain and out of sight of the kids he just crumpled in severe pain with back and knee problems. I was pretty smart to the business as a kid, but when I saw the injuries and wear and tear on a strong guy like Henning, it made it very real to me. Most of the selling is just being to look like you're OK after 300 days on the road.
I myself did some Indie wrestling for about 10 years, I cannot call wrestling fake, I will call it entertainment, I will call it scripted, i will even say wrestlers are glorified stuntmen, but I wont call it fake, you feel every bump, every chair shot, every sliver from a broken table, the punches might be fake, but you can't fake gravity.
Triple h standing there while Shawn Michaels is trying to blow him over is one of my favorite wwe moments
Flair reaching for the tag then flopping is hilarious and classic.
The reaction from Triple H is great as well because I think he was genuinely amused by it as well.
I love Scott Halls selling of the Stunner. It was like he hit his face, stood up and was basically "stunned." Lmfao. There wasn't any flip flopping Rock or Triple H selling, it was just a take it then stand as still as a board till he falls. Scott and Steve even played into this during their Wrestlemania 18 match, where he took the stunner how he normally did and stood there stunned, then Stone Cold flips him off and hits him with another. I know Steve Austin didnt want to work with Scott, or any of the nWo, but those 2 would have been PERFECT together in their primes.
Let's say 97-99 Stone Cold and 96-97 Scott Hall, before Scott's demons were always brought up. But that would've been amazing
4:27 You might notice, Billy has turned "being on the receiving end of a clothesline" into an _offensive_ move. When he flips, he kicks his opponent with both legs.
*4:19
At 5:44...
That REFREE'S head bouncing down over 3 ropes : top rope, middle rope, bottom rope than going down...
That oversell was on ANOTHER LEVEL 🔥
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
As a kid that suffered from seizures, I remember thinking that Flair was knocked out on his feet and that's why he walked then fell. I remember being concerned for him every time. Till my mother explained that it's not a real reaction. Lol
I remember having arguments with my cousin as to what was the most painful Finishing move in wrestling. I always praised and defended the stunner due to how good Triple H and The Rock sold it.
No one can fall flat on his face like Greg Valentine.
I love the part at 6:33 when hogan hits the Spanish announcer by accident with the chair then just picks up another chair as if it didn't happen
I remember loving wwe as a kid and being disappointed it was fake fighting but now you can really respect them for their trade. RIP Randy Savage
I think Brock is one of the best sellers ever in terms of realism. HBK, Perfect, Hall - they were probably trying to make the guys in the locker room laugh, and it was certainly hilarious. I was laughing my butt off throughout this video.
He actually oversold strikes in MMA, so maybe that's just how he takes damage.
Definitely got #1 right..loved watching Perfect bounce around the ring making his opponent look like a million bucks
Loved the vid and what you did between 4 and 5 :)
This was an extremely fun video to watch!!! Thank you, you made my week!!
6:25 "Not the Spanish Announcers' table!!!"
I always did like Mr Perfect. Not his Curt Hennig stuff in WCW, WCW really made him stale though. Mr Perfect didn't even need the IC Belt to be great and that's the mark of a truly great performer 👍
Man this put a smile on my face...great vid
I don't usually think of this but seeing it all back-to-back makes it pretty funny.
I respect your opinion but no ricochet and Dolph ziggler
Exactly what I was thinking
God i miss Mr Perfect...the ULTIMATE in-ring technician, always knew where he was, and what "could" be coming...he was always ready.
Him and Brett Hart had some of the greatest matches I ever seen
Good efforts mate. Must have taken alot of editing time. Kudos from a fellow brit who grew up on wwf/wwe
The clothesline flip is a classic. Some of the very best heels in wrestling could really sell that clothesline flip, and I'm 100% here for it.
5:45-5:48 funny Af 😂
Nothing will top Shawn Michaels vs Hulk Hogan
But the thing is that was entirely on purpose and wasn't meant to enhance the match; it was used to ridicule Hogan and it DID and we LOVED Michaels for it because it was well deserved.
Great video! I laughed from the beginning to the end. Did you notice all these guys are Hall of Fame types? I agree with number one. Hennig was so good at selling, even his over-sells looked natural and flowed in the match.
That ref bouncing off all three ropes going down was priceless.
How is Dolph Ziggler not on this list
This is not fair
Did you even read the text? He said Dolph ziggler RVD and Richochet have sells that are realistic compared to the humorous sells of the rest of the list.
@@biggiecheese1280 I made that comment not long after it was uploaded tge text probably wasn't made by then.
When I was a kid I remember thinking that the Bushwackers must have had incredibly low pain thresholds. Their opponents would lightly tap them and they would collapse on the mat rolling around twitching.
For the entry on The Rock after he takes the stunner at Wrestlemania X7 you can see Austin looks to be laughing and smiling as he runs for the pin
I'm over here rolling 😂 this is so great!!
Nobody will ever be able to convince me that there is, was, or ever will be, anybody who can sell like HBK. Shawn Michaels is the best in ring performer of all time. No ifs ands or butts
IMO, the overselling is what makes pro wrestling so funny. This was a refreshing reminder as to why these names are on your list. Hennig was the best. Fun to see how the power of the stunner could be enhanced with various and different impacts! 🤣🤣
Nice work!
Love watching these videos, but it is sad when you realize how many of these guys are gone.
Hoooooow did you get all these clips. This is great hahaha
The fact that HHH and the rock competed on overselling the stunner is amazing
I used to watch wrestling back in the 80’s . We massively underrated Rick Rude .
R.I.P. Richard Erwin Rood 😎😎
One of best wrestling lists I’ve ever viewed. Agreed with every choice & laughed my arse off as well.👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
The best selling I ever saw was Little Spike Dudley in his wars with Mike Awesome. Although wars is perhaps not quite right word, technically they were massacres. And I wouldn’t call it over-selling. It might not even have been selling. It looked bloody real.
Rude was awesome and Flair was hilarious but I'm so glad you put the Perfect One at the top of the list. He was, without a doubt, absolute perfection.
Hennig always come foremost in my mind. What’s missing here that stood out the most for me was how perfectly he bounced of the iron ring post outside the ring.
Great list!
Love when anyone sells a clothesline with a flip, makes the move look incredible
Or fake because its clear they're cooperating.
Got to love all these guys, i looked forward to watching these guys growing up
Its nice to see some of the originators of some of the sells you love to see today
We all know the old story brother, when the Hulkster was still in his youth as a heel he accidentally exaggerated his pain once to sell the story of the match for his babyface ring brother. That was the day overselling was truly born, brothers!!
This was AMAZING😂😂 THANKYOU
This is actually a collection of some of the most entertaining wrestlers. A collection of legends.
My favorite trademark sell was from Ted Dibiase, when he would take an atomic drop and then bounce over the top rope. I swear he did that at least once in 90% of his matches.
Where Hulk Hogan appears hitting the commentator in Spanish, years ago on a CZcams channel he mentioned that that moment was not faked, Hulk Hogan hit him so hard that he fainted, When you continue watching the program with the comments in Spanish, he no longer appears why they had to attend him medically.
Great video🎉
Overselling truly is an art, nothing is more fun than when someone pulls an incredibly creative sell
Ill take this, infact i miss this over the constant no selling that goes on in all the post 2010 wrestling now. everyone does the superkick, person gets right back up from it. I wanna see the classic oversells that'll make me say "by gawd they killed em! as god is my witness hes been broken in half!"
Scott Hall selling Austin's Stunner at WM 18. Incredible.
Great video. Thank you and God bless.
Wow , you took me back to memory lane and I sincerely thank you for all the wonderful memories. Rick Flair I think was the number one of them all . 🇺🇸 There all number one in my opinion and they were all great wrestler's 💯🇺🇸
Watching Flair flop with Lawler screaming "OH NO" in the background is truly nirvana.
Great video 👍
