@RC Not ''versions'' but non-conforming scripts and copies. the Qur'an is only one with 7 Ahruf and 10 Qira'at. During the 23 years of Muhammad's time as a prophet (peace and blessing be upon him), The Quran was revealed to him through the Angel Jibreel (Gabriel) (peace be upon him) in parts (sometimes few verses, sometimes whole chapter or more depending on the context and the situations, and that means that the Quran is a way of life), then the prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) recites what was revealed on him to his companions, so the verses of the Quran were memorized as they were revealed, letter by letter, word by word, by many of the companions, and about 42 scribes wrote the verses on different materials such as paper, cloth, bone fragments and leather. Then after the death of the prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him) the first Caliph Abu Bakr formed a delegation under the leadership of Zaid ibn Thabit, one of the leading scribes. This delegation of 12 people, including famous figures such as Uthman ibn Affan, Ali ibn Abi Talib, Talha ibn Ubaydullah, Abdullah ibn Masood, Ubayy ibn Kab, Khalid ibn al-Walid, Hudhaifah and Saleem, came together in Umar's house and collected all the materials on which verses from the Quran were written. In addition, the verses memorized by the companions were heard as well. Each of them was asked to show two witnesses for the verse they read. Less than two decades later, after the exponential geographic growth of Muslim state, disputes emerged out of the spread of Prophet’s original companions into different regions, and masses entering Islam being un-knowledgeable of the Arabic language and the original Qur’anic script. Also at the time, materials like papers etc..started to be available. *This prompted the third caliph Uthman Bin Affan, to call again Zayd ibn Thabit to head another committee. He recalled the original compiled script from Hafsa and produced six to seven master copies to be distributed among capital cities of different Muslim regions, to become the sole references, and ordered burning all other non conforming scripts [that contain personal notes of people, or with unclear handwriting,...] (to avoid confusion and to facilitate teaching and learning the Qur'an).* *This is what later became known as the “Uthmani script” and this script included all the Ahruf and Qira'at. It has nothing to do with caliph Uthman coming up with a “new version” of Qur’an (as you thought I guess)* *This is what is meant by “Uthmani script” it is noted in most Modern Qur'an prints as a caution and confirmation, since originally it had no pointing, no diacritics, no Hamza letter, no verse and chapter numbering, as is the practice in modern day printing and writing.* --> it's a startegic smart move to spread the Qur'an without confusion and to facilitate teaching and learning it. If you don't have the surah's memorized or didn't hear them recited a lot, I doubt anyone would notice. Some differences are very subtle, some are noticable.
Assalamu Alaikum Ma Sha Allah! Very touching very beautiful. Just attention in a few places: 1. Is there Imaala in وَعَدَّدَه، أَخْلَدَه؟ 2. حُشِّرَتْ for Imam Susi, is it with a Tashdeed? Also the verse وإذا البحار سجرت is missing? 3. Doesn't Imam Susi make Qash in Madd Munfusil like ما أَحْضَرَتْ فَلا أُقْسِم؟
Can someone explain please how does the translation/meaning change with these different types of recitation, if any changes are apparent. JazakAllah khair
Sheikh has made a slight mistake in surah Humazah. On the words عدّده and أخلده there is no imalah for imam kisaai ra as he only does this on words ending in ة and they end in ه
I have a question, why recite it in different ways? I’m not an Arabic speaker but I’m curious why the slight different dialects(I’m assuming that’s what qirat is?)?
- The 10 Qira'at are styles of reading and recitation - The Qur'an was revealed on the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in 7 Ahruf (in order to facilitate reading the Quran and memorizing it for the other Arab tribes with different arabic dialects and accents at that time) which gave the 10 Qira'at, so basically they are all a revelation from Allah ﷻ to make it easy for other arab tribes with other dialects. So The Qur'an = The 7 Ahruf = The 10 Qira'at. And we are proud of those 10 Qira'at and there is a whole islamic science about them. I'm aware there are even some different words but these differences in the Qira'at (like "those who fought" and "those who were killed") are not contradictory but rather each one gives another layer of meaning (for example: you may fight in the sake of God without being killed, and you have your reward, and you may fight and be killed and in this case you're a martyr and you have your reward. Another example in the first chapter: King vs Master, which are not contradictory but each one adds another layer of meaning) and I found these Qira'at aligned with the challenge that The Qur'an produces ie "Come with something like it or come with even just one chapter like it", here these Qira'at are facilitating the challenge more by giving other complementary possibilities to the people, and they are showing that if God wants to come with something like the Qur'an using different words or in different dialects it's really easy for Him. And also another point is "how can the prophet Muhammad know all these dialects and new words that the people of his envir didn't know, knowing that he couldn't even read or write ?" And also there is no issue at all that these Qira'at are all preserved and tracked back to the prophet Muhammad pbuh, they are all transmitted by Mutawathir (a really really strict way of transmission, there is no doubt that a single letter can't be changed) A recommendation : - watch this video ''Comparative study the bible vs the Qur'an preservation'' in ''One message foundation'' channel. - watch a video about the 10 Qira'at in ''Arabic 101" channel. - Watch ''Ahruf and Qira'at Simplified Ep(1) The Meaning of The Seven Ahruf'' in ''The muslim lantern'' channel

Afnan Alam jazak Allah khair!!! I will watch the video insha Allah!!

Which qiraat is mainly used nowadays by the famous imams/qaris?
Which one of the 7 above does Hafs fall under?
Ian yes hafs is most common than warsh
When heard this.
The recitation is so beautiful.
Then reflected to my recitation. My recitation so bad like it was an essay full of typo. I'm not an Arab speakers so I'm really not aware of how bad mine is. 😭😭😭
Assalamu alaikum, in the riwayah of susi an abi amr, the disconnected madd between words is not elongated for example فلا اقسم the alif is only 2 harakaat
Nzuri sana
are there any good youtube videos teaching warsh style qiraat
Recitetune
Asalamualakum barakallahu fek
What community is this and where?
It's a mistake to say Ibn Kathir for the Fatifa. Because the 2 students Qunbul and Bazzy don't have the same fatiHa. Qunbul says sirata with sin and Bazzy Sirata with Sad. Wa allahu a3lam.
Is there a school or Madrasa who would teach all ten styles of Qiraat.
Or schools which specialise in each of the 10 styles of Qiraat.
Sh. Okasha Kameny would probably teach them all. Search him up
As salamu alaikum wa rahmatullah. Timbuktu seminary by Sh Abu taubah. It’ll be very beneficial Insha Allah and it’s online. He has ijaza in all ten and there are other classes as well. May Allah SWT increase you in knowledge of the Quran Ameen
Find a single teacher who’ll teach them
to you one on one.

Masha Allah. Great to hear. But i dont know the pronounciation and syllable difference making big difference while recite in Al fatiha surah whether it was be accepted by Prophet sal or not. anyway thanks brothers.
@Qurra Channel Is it true that the qira'at of Basri has the most Hijazi narrators?
NICE
10:00
Can anyone elaborate the difference of each style? Can a layman differenciate between them just by listening ?
Not sure about other surahs but anyone who recites surah fatiha can differentiate most of them
If you don't have the surah's memorized or didn't hear them recited a lot, I doubt anyone would notice. Some differences are very subtle, some are noticable.
Assalamu alaikum warahamatullah
I dont understand why some people say malik yaw medeen and others say maalik yaw medeen? AllahUAlam
Difference of qiraat , there are 7 different types granted by Nabi Salatu Wassalam.
Waiting for further Recitations like this from India Bombay
Assalamu Alaikum Ma Sha Allah!
Very touching very beautiful.
Just attention in a few places:
1. Is there Imaala in وَعَدَّدَه، أَخْلَدَه؟
2. حُشِّرَتْ for Imam Susi, is it with a Tashdeed? Also the verse وإذا البحار سجرت is missing?
3. Doesn't Imam Susi make Qash in Madd Munfusil like ما أَحْضَرَتْ فَلا أُقْسِم؟
4. Also لَقَوْلُ رَسُول is supposed to be read with Idghaam
Mistakes on his side I guess
Please someone put this qaris name Jzk .

Can someone explain please how does the translation/meaning change with these different types of recitation, if any changes are apparent. JazakAllah khair
المعنى لا يتغير
Sheikh has made a slight mistake in surah Humazah. On the words عدّده and أخلده there is no imalah for imam kisaai ra as he only does this on words ending in ة and they end in ه
O.... Thank you very much. Jazakallahu khayran
Someone please tell me the name of the Quran reciter please
I have a question, why recite it in different ways? I’m not an Arabic speaker but I’m curious why the slight different dialects(I’m assuming that’s what qirat is?)?
czcams.com/video/8hj7u0F3yEg/video.html hopefully this video help
- The 10 Qira'at are styles of reading and recitation
- The Qur'an was revealed on the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in 7 Ahruf (in order to facilitate reading the Quran and memorizing it for the other Arab tribes with different arabic dialects and accents at that time) which gave the 10 Qira'at, so basically they are all a revelation from Allah ﷻ to make it easy for other arab tribes with other dialects.
And also another point is "how can the prophet Muhammad know all these dialects and new words that the people of his envir didn't know, knowing that he couldn't even read or write ?"
And also there is no issue at all that these Qira'at are all preserved and tracked back to the prophet Muhammad pbuh, they are all transmitted by Mutawathir (a really really strict way of transmission, there is no doubt that a single letter can't be changed)
A recommendation :
- watch this video ''Comparative study the bible vs the Qur'an preservation'' in ''One message foundation'' channel.
- watch a video about the 10 Qira'at in ''Arabic 101" channel.
- Watch ''Ahruf and Qira'at Simplified Ep(1) The Meaning of The Seven Ahruf'' in ''The muslim lantern'' channel
Are you sure that changing the qiraa will not change the meaning
Name of qarī pls
Can implement various qiraat in the solah? but haven't not study yet..
It is not recommended unless a qari has given you permission to do so.
If u have studied under a teacher
Can someone tell me who’s reciting
I'd really like to try learning the "Qira'at Hamza" but I guess I need a starting place. Any help?
You need grounding in strong Hifdh and Tajweed in Hafs then you can find a teacher
who is reciting and does he have any records????
