    STEP BY STEP OF THIS VIDEO TUTORIAL:
    BESURE THAT YOU ARE NOT RECORDING IN REPLACE RECORDING MODE. CHANGE IT TO OVERDUB!
    IF YOUR SONG IS 4/4 THEN SET QUANTIZE TO 120. IF IT IS ¾ OR 6/8 THEN USE 80 OR 160 QUANTIZE.
    1. IN PATTERN MODE CREATE CORE SONG SECTIONS SUCH AS VERSE, CHORUS, PRECHORUS, INTERLUDE etc (EACH SONG SECTION WOULD BE A SCENE E.G. 1, 2, 3 etc).
    2. MAKE SURE TO PUT THE COUNT DOWN FROM THE VOCAL CUES IN THE LAST MEASURE OF THE SCENE (THE VOICE THAT SAYS, “ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR!”)
    3. ARRANGE THEM IN A CHAIN ACCORDING TO THE SONG STRUCUTRE AND EXPORT TO SONG
    4. IN MIDI MODE NAME YOUR NEWLY CREATED SONG CONSISTING OF THE CORE SONG SECTIONS
    5. RETURN TO PATTERN MODE AND IMPORT YOUR NEWLY CREATED CORE SONG SECTIONS AS A SINGLE SCENE (LIKE SCENE 1)
    6. STILL IN PATTERN MODE RECORD SONG SECTION ANNOUNCEMENT BEFORE THE COUNT DOWN (USING THE VOCAL CUE PART such as “CHORUS!” OR “VERSE!” OR “PRECHORUS” etc
    7. STILL IN PATTERN MODE RECORD YOUR INTRO, OUTRO AND FINAL HIT FOR THE END
    8. STILL IN PATTERN MODE CREATE A CHAIN (JOB BUTTON IN PATTERN MODE) WITH YOUR INTRO, CORE SONG, OUTRO AND ENDING HIT (LAST BEAT TO END THE SONG)
    9. STILL IN PATTERN MODE EXPORT THE CHAIN TO YOUR FINAL SONG TO USE AS YOUR BACKING TRACKS WITH VOCAL CUE TRACK AND ONBOARD CLICK
    10. USE MIDI MODE TO LAUNCH YOUR BACKING TRACKS

      Sorry for the delay in responding. The system to create a song is to create patters for Verse, Chorus and Bridge, then chain them, save as a song (when arranged) then create intro as a pattern and outro/end as a pattern. Create another chain and save as a song. You may be jumping to MIDI file since there are selections of three modes in the Play/Rec mode. The top one is MIDI, the next one is Audio (for audio recording) and under audio is Pattern. You can go into MIDI and save that file as a Pattern (once you have made a song out of a chain), then select pattern mode to create additional patters around that song that you converted to a long pattern. I hope that I haven’t confused you with this. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I love your username!

    Thank you so much for this content!! It's exactly what I was looking for,
    the only one that made sure camera wasn't blurred 😂 whould it be possible to route the click in the same way on a MODX6?

    • @CaliforniaCreedence
      @CaliforniaCreedence  Před rokem +1

      The MoDx only has R/L out but no assignables. So you would have to run click out channel 2 (or the Right output) and Tracks/keys out channel 1 (or the left output). Thanks for the encouragement!

    Hi John, do you have a video on how to record the scenes on the montage?

    • @CaliforniaCreedence
      @CaliforniaCreedence  Před rokem

      No. I noticed that I didn't spend time on that. What I did was created patterns for song parts (verse, chorus, bridge, into outdoor, etc) then created a chain of the patterns and using JOB I converted to a song, then assigned that to a scene. But you have to do the math and be sure you have the numer of measures correct. If you have a question I can email you a video explaining what you may need. I wouldn't be posting a Q and A video on my channel, it just be viewed by you.

    Can this be done on the MODX6+ too?

    • @CaliforniaCreedence
      @CaliforniaCreedence  Před 11 měsíci

      Sorry for the long delay. I don't think it is possible exactly this way unless you run MONO which means routing the click/cues to right and house to left output. Then it would work. The MODX+ still lacks the additional 2 Assignable outputs that the Montage has.

    Do you ever use the Montage for backing tracks anymore?

    • @CaliforniaCreedence
      @CaliforniaCreedence  Před rokem

      No I use multitracker for iPad. It is amazing! Multitracker can trigger the montage and send audio over the integrated audio interface on the Montage.

      @@CaliforniaCreedence So the Montage is your MIDI sound source?

    • @CaliforniaCreedence
      @CaliforniaCreedence  Před rokem

      @@jbognap no, I record the Montage into cubasis and run all audio tracks from MT and use the Montage live. This is a much more stable approach.

      @@CaliforniaCreedence Thanks. Do you every have issues with the iPad interrupting with popups or other computer-ish notifications? I assume you've got wireless shut off.

    • @CaliforniaCreedence
      @CaliforniaCreedence  Před rokem

      @@jbognapThanks for the questions! No. Mine is WiFi only and at gigs we have a dedicated router that is not connected to the internet, so, no pop ups. I have to have wifi enabled since I also run a synchronized light show from Multitracker, as well. What I have discovered is that running as much music as audio only frees up MIDI for things such as DMX lights. Multitracker was the best $27 I ever spent!
