- How to paint OSL on miniatures for beginners. How to paint @SPELLCROWTV resin miniatures. Painting OSL on minis is normally painted once you've painted the actual colors of the miniature. OSL is basically painted as an effect when you are about to paint the final highlights or even before the pre-highlights.

This video is a sort of experiment, at least for me, on painting OSL immediately on a Spellcrow resin miniature without an airbrush. This was a fun quick project that we eventually kinda pulled off at the end. This video discusses WHY I do not thin my paints 1:1, why I do not water down paints too much, specially when painting highlights.

I like how you target newcomers and give solid advice for them along the way in this video. Even those of us who have been at it a while can always use a refresher course in some things, and this looks like a good way to try tackling OSL in the future for me. I may have to throw a few bucks at Spellcrow at some point, because that little guy has a ton of detail and you can see the effort and love that went into sculpting it. Good show, Don!

Don - another great walk-through and demo. Keep up the great content. I know the 20-minute "long-form" videos are a lot of work, so much appreciation for the investment in the community. I need to write down your various "sauces" and make some of my own to try. Your recommendations have resulted in me buying several bottles each of Glaze Medium and Thinner Medium (simply for the sake of consistency instead of just water or random personal recipe). Do you have those "sauce" recipes written anywhere that I could just download? If not, I can go rewatch lots of tutorials again and capture the info. Thanks just the same!

Hey Don, great video! How do you think, why my Yellow Fluo of Model Color is like rubber-ish consistency? It is spoiled? Shaking it as hell didn't help... Some other fluo paints is same! 🥲
Hmmm. Try to add a bit of flow improver, then stir... do not shake. Stire with a metal rod or even a toothpick. ☺️
Your videos are very approachable, and I have 2 questions.
1. When priming, can you use a zenithal priming the for the direction of the light source to simulate highlights and dispersion of the colors?
2. What's the ration of the highlightsauce?
